~from (y/n)'s POV~
You stood in the kitchen until Levi got back.
"What are you doing?" he asked, closing the door and locking it behind him before turning to you.
"Hm? Um..." you shook your head. "Just going to sleep," you replied softly, moving towards the couch, but he pushed you towards his room. "What?"
"You can sleep in there," he said, turning away from you for a second before leading you into his room, where he shut and locked his trusty escape window, testing to see that the lock still worked after a long period of disuse. "Lock the door," he said, leaving, and hesitantly, you shut the door, finger hovering over the lock.
"It's not locked," he prompted from the other side of the door, and you hurriedly flicked the lock.
"Levi?" you asked softly, but you couldn't tell if he was still there. "Um, well...I just wanted to say thank you," you whispered, but there was no reply. Sighing, you went back to Levi's bed and laid down, closing your eyes.
You didn't turn the lights off.

(That moment when you realize that you screwed yourself over by trying to attempt an act of human kindness for once in your life...)
I forgot a damn blanket.
~from (y/n)'s POV~
You didn't feel like going to school (obviously), and Levi didn't seem inclined to make you, so you texted Himuro and made plans to hang out with him for your birthday since you weren't set on doing anything in particular.
Just as Levi was leaving, Himuro showed up at the front door. They looked at each other for a full minute - Levi, glaring, eyes narrowed, and Himuro, withdrawn and cold - before Levi tched and walked out the door.
You only arrived after their little staring fest happened, so when you came into the room wearing your (f/c) leggings, (s/f/c) skirt and (striped/polka-dotted) sweatshirt, you saw Himuro and smiled. "Ready?"
He turned to you, nodding. "You look cute today, (y/n)," he complimented politely, and you smiled.
"And you're still tall," you added, and the two of you laughed before leaving Levi's apartment.

"So where are we going?" you asked, glancing up at Himuro, who smiled gently at you.
"Do you want to pick a place, or do you want me to surprise you?"
Your eyes widened in childish delight. "Suprise!!"
He laughed. "All right. Surprise it is, then."
***
You were practically shaking with excitement. "Can we canwecanwe can we realllllly?"
He laughed, nodding before letting me tug him inside. "Order whatever you want," he said, and you bobbed your head, already scanning the counter.
A pastry shop, full of sweets and sugar and chocolate and OH HOW MUCH BETTER THIS DAY HAS GOTTEN.
In the end, you decided on a chocolate cupcake that also had chocolate mousse in the center as filling and chocolate frosting topped with chocolate shavings, as well as a piece of oreo pie that you hadn't had in forever.
Himuro was originally against ordering anything for himself, but when you forced him to eat something, he chose some kind of dainty eclair thing.
Back at your table, you started in on the oreo pie while Himuro picked at the eclair, wincing under your glare.
"I'm just not super big on sweets," he explained, but still took a bite of the eclair just to satisfy you.
By this point, you had already finished the oreo pie and gazed at the cupcake in wistful longing.
"What's wrong?" Himuro asked, observing your pining. "Don't you want to eat it?"
"I do, I do...but..." You sighed heavily, dismay falling across your features. "But I don't have enough room," you whispered tragically, never taking your eyes off of the beautiful cupcake.
Himuro laughed softly. "It's okay. We can get it to go, if you like."
You nodded, still staring at the quadruple chocolate beauty until Himuro came back with a box. "I promise I will eat you soon," you whispered before tucking it inside.
When you and Himuro got up to leave, you clutched the box to your chest, making sure that it was perfectly level so the frosting wouldn't be ruined.
"I can carry it for you," he said, and you bit your lip anxiously.
"But if you drop it, it will fall farther...physics and cupcakes don't agree." You gaped. "What if it splits like an egg?"
Himuro laughed. "I promise I won't drop it, (y/n)."
Exhaling, you gingerly placed the box in his waiting hands as though handing off a small coffin, and he smiled, holding the box in one hand and ruffling your hair with the other.
"Do you want to pick our next destination, or should I?" he asked, and you gawked at him.
"BOTH HANDS ON THE BOX, HIMURO!" you squeaked.

"The pet shop?" you asked, tilting your head slightly.
"Yep," Himuro answered, leading you towards the back.
"Ahhhh...the kittens are so cute," you whispered, kneeling down next to the kitten enclosure and watching as one kitten climbed on top of another one and fell asleep.
"You can pick one out," Himuro said, kneeling next to me.
"Seriously?" I asked, looking at him in amazement.
He nodded, looking at the kittens instead of at you. "I already got Levi's permission."
"Really?" I asked, surprised, but then I heard mewling and looking back at the kittens, trying to decide which one would become my soul mate. Finally, "That one!" You pointed to a cat that was black except for his stomach, paws, mouth, and a little shape above his nose, which were white, paired with beautiful green eyes and majestic whiskers.
Himuro smiled and talked to an employee, and twenty minutes later, you were walking home with a new kittens, plus supplies.

When you got home, Levi looked up from the kitchen table.
"Hey, Levi," you said, nodding slightly (although he still scared you). "Thanks for letting me get a kitten!"
Levi looked up sharply at Himuro.
~from Levi's POV~
Kitten? What kitten? What the hell was (y/n) thinking?
Then I looked up at Himuro, who was standing behind (y/n) with an eyebrow raised, before looking back at (y/n), her eyes practically sparkling.
"Tch. Whatever," I muttered, and she grinned. Oh yeah, Himuro? Two can play at this game.
