Unholy Confessions

AJ sat criss cross on the living room couch as she texted Corey. She couldn't help but smile to herself considering how adorable he is.

"What's up, AJ." Matt asked, sitting beside her then grabbing the remote.

"Nun."

He tilted his head, "Becky told me that you broke up with Dean."

"Yeah I did." she simply confessed.

"Normally I would say 'its about damn time.' But I'm actually curious on why."

AJ put her phone faced down on her lap,"Because I found somebody new."

Matt nodded, "Oh."

"Is that a problem?"

" No. It just seems a little... never mind."

"Say it."

"Just drop it. I don't want to start anything." He suggested. Matt was not in the mood to argue with his hard headed sister.

"You brought it up now finish what you started."

"I just think its weird that you fought so hard for Dean and he did the same for you, then you just drop him like nothing." He admitted while flipping through the channels. "It's like everything you put him through was for literally nothing."

"That I put him through!? You mean that you guys put him through!"

"Regardless, it wasn't right for you to break up with him like that then go out with another guy not even a day later." He explained to his offended sister. "If I didn't know what was going on, I'd asuume you cheated on him."

"Who are you to judge me? Back in California you were the guy who just picked girls up then threw them to the side."

"AJ, that's different."

"How,Matt?" She yelled, "How is it any different?"

"Because I never made it seem like I cared about them!" He yelled even louder.

AJ scoffed, "I don't understand you. One moment you hate Dean and now that I finally broke up with him you're telling me that I shoudn't have. It's like no matter what I do its wrong in everbody's eyes!"

"I know Corey personally. He's a cool guy but I'd rather you date Dean than him. Corey just seems like he'd have a bad influence on you."

"Oh gee, thanks dad!"

Matt rolled his eyes, "Maybe if you had some direction in your life, you wouldn't be acting like this."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"

"You are so immature!"

"Listen, Matt. Just cuz you got a girl pregnant and you're going to be a dad, doesn't mean you get to act like mine."

Matt exclaimed loudly in annoyance. "Okay I'm done talking to you." He turned off the TV and started walking away.

"Hey! Don't turn your back when I'm talking to you!"

"What more do you want me to say, AJ? I just told you what I think. It's up to you if you decide to do something with it or not."

AJ huffed as he continued to walk away. She was going to fight with him more but decided to drop it when her phone started buzzing. It was Paige. "Hello?"

"Wanna go to the boardwalk with me and Syn? Before you say no you can invite Corey. I really wanna meet him."

"Sorry, Paige. But I already had plans tonight." She lied. AJ was kind of scared for her friends to meet Corey cuz she knew that they would all say that she should have stayed with Dean. It just sucked to know that everybody was against her on this. Hell, even Matt disagreed with her, considering he still loathed Dean.

"Oh." There was a long pause, "That's cool. I guess I'll talk to you later then."

AJ hung up and threw herself on the carpet floor. She rolled on her side and forgot that she had a small bag of weed in her back pocket. She tapped her bottom lip, "Hm, everyone else is gone and Matt's locked in his room." AJ shrugged, "Might as well have a bit of fun."

-Boardwalk-

"Syn." Paige said, "Can I tell you something?"

"Oh gosh, you're not breaking up with me are you?" he asked, opening his bag of cotton candy.

"Of course not! It's about AJ. I have a bad feeling about that guy she's going out with."

"Corey? What's wrong with him? I met him a few weeks ago. I think he's great for AJ."

"You only like him cuz he'a not Dean. And that you have more in common with him."

"So?"

"I just feel like ever since she started going out with him that AJ doesn't want to hang out with me, Bayley, or Carmella anymore."

Syn stopped walking and crossed his arms with a smug grin, "I see the problem here. You ladies are jealous."

Paige threw her arms in the air, "What?! No, she just-"

"It's okay babe I understand." he told her, shoving cotton candy into his mouth. "You'll get over it."

"You know he got her high, right?"

Syn choked on his candy, "High? Like raise it and blaze it type of high?"

"No, the other one." Paige sarcastically answered.

"AJ doesn't do drugs. She's the most straight edge person I know."

"WAS the most straight edge person you know. Look, I haven't met the guy but I know he's wrong for AJ. And just because you don't like Dean doesn't mean you should let AJ go out with Corey considering he's 10 times worse."

"I don't get it. One moment you want me to let AJ pick who she wants to date and the next you want me to interfere in her love life again. I am staying out of it this time."

Paige scowled at her boyfriend, "Take me home."

"What? We haven't even rode the Ferris wheel and dump soda on people from the top yet."

"Either we leave now or you promise to talk with AJ when you get home."

"Ugh, fine I'll talk to her."

-Dean's House-

"Did she say why she dumped you?"

"She told me that the spark we had at the beginning wasn't there anymore. And that she basically fell out of love with me." Dean explained to Sami.

"Dude, that's gotta bite. Do you know if she's dating anybody else?" He asked.

"No. I haven't seen her with any guys at school."

Sami put on his serious thinking face. "Hm, she could be going out with somebody who doesn't go to our school."

"Yeah that's true." it hurt Dean to talk about his break up with AJ but there were just so many things he had to get off of his chest. "I just thought that everything was going great in our relationship and out of nowhere she drops the bomb on me."

Sami sat up, "I think that she might of had her eye on somebody else while you were dating."

"What makes you assume that?"

"Cuz you said that she didn't seem interested in going out on dates with you anymore and that she wouldn't answer your texts or calls." he paused, "How the hell did you not notice all those red flags? It's so damn obvious that she was seeing somebody else."

Dean mentally slapped himself, "I already knew she was! I could tell! I just didn't want to believe it!" he tried his best not to cry in front of Sami. But he couldn't help it. "She was the best thing that ever happened to me. I guess this is just bad karma for what I've put her through." Sami stood up and slapped Dean across the face. "Ow!"

"Pull yourself together! We're going to find out who she's seeing. That way we could beat his ass afterwards."

"Sami, I am really not down for a fight, okay? But I do want to know what this guy is all about."

After Synyster dropped Paige off at her place, he came home to what seemed to be an empty house. He walked up the stairs to go to his room. When he walked passed AJ and Kaitlyn's room her covered his nose due to the strong stench. He knocked on the door, "AJ, you in there?"

Syn heard a fan turn on and a dresser drawer open and shut. "Yeah, what's up?" she asked.

"There's a weird smell coming from your room."

"Maybe it's just you."

He smelled his hoodie, "Yeah maybe you're ri- wait no! Open your door." he wiggled the knob, "What are you doing in there."

"Nothing leave me alone!"

"AJ, open the door."

She exclaimed loudly before opening it, "What? Everything's fine in here."

He squinted at her, "Why are your eyes red?"

"Allergies. You know I have them."

Syn nodded his head then pointed to AJ's bed, "Why are there rolling papers on your bed?"

She turned quickly, "I put those away!"

"Ah ha! You were getting high weren't you!"

"Okay, yes." she admitted, "Are you gonna arrest me?"

He crossed his arms, "Where'd you get it from?"

"I plead the fifth!" she said loudly, holding up five fingers, "I don't have to answer anything."

"You are so retarded!" he told her, "Did Corey give it to you?"

"Wow, you're good."

He sighed in disappointment, "Ugh, AJ." Syn really didn't want to get involved with AJ's business anymore but somehow he always got dragged back in. "Are you actually happy with Corey?"

"Mhm!" she nodded.

Syn ran his hand through his messy, black hair, "Alright. Just don't let anybody else find your stash."

"You're not telling on me?"

"No. Just don't do it in the house, dumbass. The smell travels."

"Fine." she slowly began closing her door, "Syn, what do you think? Did I make the right decision on leaving Dean?"

"Honestly, I'm the wrong person to ask."

She nodded again before closing her door. AJ would be lying if she said she questioned if leaving Dean was the right thing to do. Sometimes she felt a little guilty about getting 'socialized' with Corey behind Dean's back. But in the end she was still happy with who she was with. That's all that mattered. Right?...
