Making Amends

Even though she didn't mean to, AJ still felt bad about spoiling Matt's proposal to Becky. The loud conversations the couple had over the phone made it obvious that Becky was still upset about it. The fact that Matt didn't bother attempting to propose again pissed Becky off even more. All AJ wants is to be on good terms with Becky so that things can be a little easier from here on out.

"Why did you call me over here, AJ?" Becky asked, walking into the house, "Better be important considering I had to walk all the way over here."

"Sit down." AJ said, making herself comfy on the couch. "How are you and my brother doing?"

"Not engaged. But you already know that." She grumbled as she rolled her eyes.

AJ frowned at how bitter Becky was acting. "I would appreciate it if you dropped the attitude. It's making it really hard for me to apologize."

"I don't need your apology!" Becky fired, "Maybe if you learned how to take care of yourself, you wouldn't be such a damsel in distress!"

AJ gasped, "If you weren't pregnant I would have totally punched you right now!"

Becky got in her face, "Oh I wish you would." she growled.

AJ stepped up, holding her ground. "On second thought, I'm not sorry about calling Matt and causing him not finish his proposal to you. You're just a bitter girl who's jealous of her boyfriends little sister for lord knows what reason."

Becky laughed sarcastically, "There's not an existing word that describes how delusional you are, AJ. If you think I'm jealous of you, then you're dumber than I thought."

"Then what is it, Becky? What is your problem?"

Matt walked in the door and saw his girlfriend and sister arguing as alway. He was debating if he should go back outside and come back later.

"My problem is that no matter what, you're always the center of attention. Believe me, I don't want the spotlight, but it would be nice to know that my own boyfriend would sacrifice himself for me, rather than only putting things on the line for you."

AJ squinted her eyes, "You don't know what happened that night he left you alone on the peer. It was an emergency-"

Becky cut her off, "Everything is an emergency when it comes to you! No matter what, there's always something for you to complain about." She started mocking AJ, "'Oh my god, I met a cute guy and gave him my number when I have a boyfriend. No way this will cause problems. So what if he gives me drugs, at least he treats me right.'"

Without thinking, AJ rose her hand about to strike Becky. That was up until Matt finally jumped into things, "What the hell is wrong with you two? Every time you're in the same room you always start fighting."

AJ pointed at Becky, "I invited her here to apologize, but she has her head shoved so far up her ass that-"

"You better watch it." Becky growled.

Matt got in the middle of the girls to separate them. "That's enough. Both of you have to stop acting like you're fucking 5yrs old!"

Becky scoffed, "She started it."

"And I'm ending it." he told her. "I've been standing here long enough to hear that what you're fighting about is completely pointless."

"I'll say." AJ commented. "If anyone makes a big deal out of nothing it's her."

"AJ." he rubbed his temples.

"Why don't you go whore around again and see where that gets you." Becky shot back.

"Becky!" Matt yelled at her, "You have no right to talk to my sister that way."

AJ shoved her way past Matt and stood face to face with Becky, "Damn right she doesn't. If you think that I'm proud of what I did then you're wrong. If I can go back to the day when I met Corey, I would have never talked to him."

Becky scoffed, thinking AJ was full of crap. "Whatever. That's why you're still with him."

"I'm not with him! Corey and his friends set me up and I had to go to the hospital because they attacked me and shot me up with drugs. I tried calling for help and Matt was the one I was able to call. That's why he left you! And if you're still pissed after knowing that, then you're just a selfish bitch!"

Becky felt really bad about all the things she had told AJ, "I- I didn't know that..."

"There's a lot of things you don't know." she informed coldly.

"I'm sorry." Becky apologized with guilt in her eyes.

"Whatever." AJ said turning away to go to her room.

Matt grabbed ahold of AJ's arm, "You guys are going to settle this right now. It's no wonder you two hate each other. You are so much alike."

"I'm nothing like her!" they yelled at the same time.

"Yeah sure. You're both hard headed, stubborn, selfish, little brats who think that the world revolves around them."

They huffed, crossing their arms. "Sorry for calling you a whore." Becky apologized under her breath.

"Sorry for almost hitting you." AJ said quietly as well. She looked at Becky and gave her an awkward hug.

Becky awkwardly patted AJ on the back, "Uhh... please let go."

AJ tucked her black hair behind her ear, "My bad. So we good now?" Becky nodded, "Great. I guess I'll see you around then." she smiled and headed back upstairs.

"I'll take you back home." Matt offered, leading Becky out the door.

Paige was driving down the road and pulled up into somebody's driveway. She knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer.

A man with styled blonde hair and 2 sleeves of tattoos opened the door, "Sup." he said bitting into an apple.

"Uh, I'm looking for my friend, Dean. I must have the wrong house."

"You're at the right place. I'm his dad, Jacoby."

She shook his hand, "I'm Paige. Can I come in?"

He let her through the door, "Dean, you have a visitor!"

Dean turned around and saw Paige galloping towards him. "What are you doing here?"

She turned around making sure that Dean's dad was out of the room. She whispered, "Your dads hot!"

"Gross!"

Paige laughed, "I needed to ask you something since everybody else is so useless."

"What is it?"

"Do you know what happened between AJ and Corey?"

Dean nearly choked on his own saliva. "No clue."

Paige exclaimed, "Are you serious? I even went to Hot Topic to see if he was there but I couldn't find him. Then when I asked one of the employees they said he had quit a few days ago"

"Maybe he moved."

Paige bit her nail, "It just doesn't make sense though. Why would he move all of a sudden?"

Dean shrugged. "Does it matter Ms.Detective?"

"My cousins a detective so I am more motivated than ever to find out what happened between those two."

"I know what happened between them! Just stop interrogating me!"

"I haven't even-"

Dean spilled everything from what happened to AJ all the way to what he did to Marilyn and Corey. At first Paige thought he was joking, up until Dean showed her the gun he used to kill them.

"Paige, you have to promise me that you won't say anything."

"Dean, I-I"

"Promise me!"

"What if you get caught?"

"I won't."

"And if you do?"

He sighed deeply, "Are you going to snitch on me or what?"

Paige scratched her head then rubbed her face. "No but-"

"Great! So it's settled. We're keeping this on the down low forever." he put his hand out to shake. Paige shakily reached her arm out and shook Dean's cold hand. "You don't have to be afraid of me. I won't ever do that again. Trust me."

Paige nodded her head and cautiously backed away out of Dean's room.

"Paige!" she yelped before turning around to face Dean's dad. "Wanna stay for dinner?"

"Oh no thank you. I really have to get home. I feel kind of sick." she looked up and saw Dean standing at the top of the staircase. "Yeah, I think I have a stomach bug."

"Hope you feel better." he opened the front door for her. "Come back whenever you like."

Without answering, Paige speed walked to her car. "I just had to be nosy." She said to herself.

Matt and Becky drove in a fraught silence. The truck began to slow down on it's own and Matt was forced to steer it on the side of the street. "Fuck." he cursed.

"What happened?"

"The truck died."

"Pop the hood and I'll check it out." she offered.

He raised his eyebrow, "You're good with cars?"

"My uncles a mechanic and he taught me all about this stuff."

"That's hot." he swooned, popping the hood open.

Becky checked for the problem, "Oh, it's your alternator." she pointed at all the wires and gadgets, "The belt around it broke."

"Well that's just fantastic."

"You guys need help?" a person asked.

"Yeah that would be great." Matt turned around to face the good samaritan that offered his help. He stood frozen still as the man walked towards him.

Becky turned around. The guy waved then greeted her with a wink, "Hi, Becky."

She clutched onto Matt's shaky hand. "H-hi. Marshall."

Marshall made eye contact with Matt, who seemed like he had came face to face with his worst nightmare. "You must be Becky's boyfriend that she told me about." he didn't answer.

Becky spoke up, "You obviously don't want to help us so why did you stop?"

"Remember what I said when you nearly blinded me?"

Marshall stalked towards her. Becky was looking at Matt to do something but he stood completely still. "Matt, do something!"

"Guess your boyfriend isn't as tough as you thought he was." he got in his face, being about 2inches shorter than Matt, but none the less, Marshall was still far more intimidating. "Isn't that right?" he stared him up and down. Matt still couldn't find the guts to defend Becky or himself. Marshall slapped him, "Say something you fucking punk!"

Matt held his face, "Leave us alone." was all he managed to finally get out.

"My god, you are such a little bitch." He pushed Matt, egging him to man up and fight. When he saw Matt look down with his shoulders slumped in defeat, that's when he noticed something. "I know you." he squeezed Matt's face as if he were a child, "Matilda, long time no see. I'm not surprised that after all these years, that you're still the little bitch that I know and love."

Becky pushed his hand off of Matt, "Don't touch him!"

"Oh look at how the tables have turned. You're the one protecting him." Marshall pulled his arm back, clobbering Matt right in the jaw. His lip was busted and he spit out his cracked lip piercing that chipped his tooth.

Becky kneeled down beside him, "Are you, okay?" She asked with concern in her voice. "Please get up." she whispered to him.

Marshall pushed Becky out of the way. He grounded Matt and started punching his face. The only thing Matt was able to do was block the punches with his forearms. With one last swift kick to the side of Matt's ribs, Marshall stopped beating him. "Just like old times, huh?" he then spit on him, showing the most disrespect. "See you two around." he smirked before speeding off.
