AJ lied in her bed, wrapped in blankets and was talking to Dean over the phone. They were both so happy that winter break was right around the corner. It would be well needed to have 2 whole weeks off of school.

"What are you gonna do over the break?" AJ asked, while shivering.

"My parents want to go to Colorado. They just love the snow. Same as me."

She rubbed her numb hands together trying to get warm, "I hate winter so much. Stupid cold front!"

"How do you hate winter?"

"It was always warm in Huntington Beach!" she looked out her window, "This is the first time I've ever seen snow. There's a white, fluffy, sheet of death in the backyard. "

He laughed, "Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

"Wanna come on vacation with us? We have an extra ticket and my parents are dying to meet you."

AJ almost choked on her hot coco, "Are you serious?"

"Duh!"

"Totally! I'd love to!" She paused. "But I have to ask. More than likely my aunt will say yes."

Dean quietly celebrated to himself, "Awesome! I can't wait."

"Me neither!"

"I love how you'd go to a place colder than New Jersey, just to spend the holidays with me."

AJ couldn't help but blush, "Only for you Ambrose. But hey I have to go. The fam is starting up the fire pit and I choose eating s'mores for breakfast over talking to you." she joked.

"Fair enough." he chuckled, "Love you, bye."

"Love you, too." she hung up. AJ zipped up her cozy jacket and met everybody on the back patio. The high flames nearly warmed the entire area.

"Someone's finally out of bed." Hunter told her as he put more fuse into the fire.

AJ sat beside Jimmy who shared the blanket he was covering himself with. "Dean invited me to Colorado with him and his family over winter break. Can I go?"

Stephanie opened the pack of marshmallows and passed them around, "I don't see why not. Hunter why do you say?"

"Okay with me. But you're going to miss the New Years fireworks."

AJ shrugged, "Eh."

Syn popped a s'more into his mouth, "Eh? You used to love when we set off fireworks."

"Yeah when I was little."

"You mean last year?"

She stuck her tongue out at him, "I just think it would be a good experience."

"Right a 'good experience'" Zacky emphasized. "You just wanna be with Dean." AJ blushed again. "I knew it!"

"Shuddup Zacky."

Matt came outside wrapped in a huge blanket. He had dark circles around his eyes and was barely able to keep himself awake. "You look gross." Johnny bluntly told him.

He shot his little cousin a death stare. "I couldn't sleep last night."

"That reminds me. We have to go to your girlfriends house today." Stephanie told him with a perky smile. "Go get dressed so we can leave."

"But I wanted s'mores." he whined.

"Upstairs!" she demanded, making Matt groan in annoyance.

"You got him whipped." Kaitlyn laughed along with AJ.

Hunter sat beside Stephanie and put his arm around her, "We have a surprise for you guys."

"I love surprises!" they yelled.

"We know you guys hate the cold so we're going on a trip to Florida over Christmas break." he announced.

"Thank god! Where the sun shines all year round!"

AJ moped, "But... I love Florida."

"You can always come along, if not we're giving your ticket away."

AJ chewed at her nails in temptation. "Nope. I'd rather be go to Colorado. Where I can ski cuz that's better than surfing."

"You don't even know how to ski." Jimmy pointed out.

"I can learn."

Finally Matt came outside wearing his Pantera pull over and some dark jeans. He decided to take out his lip piercing because if he got slapped another time he was sure that thing would fly out. "I'm ready."

"Good luck." his brothers saluted. "You're gonna need it."

-Becky's House-

Stephanie pulled up into the driveway. "We're here." she smiled.

"Yay." Matt sarcastically cheered. He got out of the car and saw Stephanie following behind him. "Aunt Steph you don't have to come inside. This'll be real quick."

"No no. I want to meet her."

Matt frowned. He took a deep breath then knocked on the door quietly. "Nobody's home. Darn! Looks like we have to go. C'mon."

Stephanie knocked on the door and Becky answered. She was wearing a maroon robe, black slippers, and her orange hair was all over the place. You could obviously tell that morning sickness was kicking her ass.

She leaned her aching head on the doorway and groaned, "Can I help you?"

"My nephew has something he would like to tell you. May we come inside?"

"Sure." she moved out of the way to let them in. "what is it?"

Stephanie nudged Matt. "Sorry." he mumbled. She pulled him by the ear forcing him to say it louder, "Ow! Ow! I said sorry."

Becky sighed loudly and rubbed her tired eyes, "Ok. Is that all cuz I need to get back to bed."

"No it's not." Matt said. "I'm sorry for saying all that mean stuff to you and making it seem like you don't matter to me."

"What about your oh so special record deal?" she reminded, not falling for his half ass apology.

"It's actually on hold." Stephanie answered for him. "We figured waiting for its release would be best for business."

"Look, I know I was being a selfish prick but that doesn't mean I don't care about you, okay. I was so caught up in thinking about the future and myself that I completely forgot about one of the only people that makes me happy." He held her hand firmly with his. "I want to be there for you. And I don't want to be a deadbeat parent like how my biological parents were. Yeah, I might not be ready to be a dad but I promise I'll try."

Becky got teary eyed as did Stephanie, "Do you really mean that?" he nodded. "Okay. I forgive you for what you said the other day. I'm sorry that I'm forcing you to put your dream on hold."

Matt gently moved her hair out of her face, "Don't even worry about that." he smiled, then kissed her softly on the lips.

"Awwwww." Steph held her hand over her chest, "That was just too adorable. I need a moment." she walked out the door.

"Sorry about her."

"Yeah it's fine."

"Hey, we're actually going to Florida over the break. Would you want to come? My sister is gonna be leaving with Dean to Colorado so we have an extra ticket."

"Yeah, I've never been to Florida before."

"You're gonna love it. I promise."

Alright guys, "We're flying out tomorrow so get your stuff packed ahead of time." Uncle Hunter ordered.

All the kids went to their rooms and started filling up suitcase after suitcase. AJ was so excited that she was going to be with Dean 24/7 for 2 whole weeks. She was kind of nervous that his parents wouldn't like her but AJ was great with first impressions.

She squealed while she finished packing her last bag. "This is going to be so much fun!"

Kaitlyn chuckled at her overly excited cousin, "You are so lucky! You're going to be chilling with your boyfriend for 2 weeks. I wish my parents trusted me enough to do that."

"I just hope his parents like me."

"Well you're great at deceiving people. So you can put on that innocent smile and boom! They're in the palm of your hand."

AJ laughed, "I'll text you everything that happens ok?"

"You better! I'm not going to have anybody to gossip with for the whole trip."

"I know, they gave my ticket to Becky. Maybe you and her could bond."

"Yeah that's true."

While everybody was finishing up packing their bags the phone started ringing. Hunter answered it "Hello?" he listened to the person speak. "You want to talk to who?" "Okay, I'll get her." He tapped his wife on the shoulder. "Your sister wants to talk to you."

Stephanie took the phone from him, "Hey Amy how are you?"

"I'm doing kind of better. At least that's what my therapist told me. What are you doing?"

"We're all getting packed cuz we're heading out of the state tomorrow."

"That's perfect!" Amy yelled.

Stephanie listened to her sister explain why it was so perfect. "Uhhh, yeah. That's okay. I'll be sure to tell them. I'm glad you're feeling better big sis. Okay, love you too. Bye." she sighed heavily then hung up the phone.

"What did she say?" Hunter asked.
