Adjustments

Stephanie listened to her sister explain why it was so perfect. "Uhhh, yeah. That's okay. I'll be sure to tell them. I'm glad you're feeling better big sis. Okay, love you too. Bye." she sighed heavily then hung up the phone.

"What did she say?" Hunter asked.

Stephanie ignored her husband and went to the living room where all the kids were chatting.

"I can not wait to go to Florida! Hot weather, surfing, kickass tattoo shops." Zacky listed. "This is going to be the best."

"Tell me about it." Synyster agreed. "I can finally work on a tan."

"Dude," Matt began, "I can not wait to go into the ocean."

"Quit teasing me about warm weather." AJ told then.

"Sorry." Matt apologized, "I mean Colorado can be fun. It's no hot beach but at least there's snow. And more snow. And even more snow!"

"Actually." Stephanie cut them off. "We have a change of plans."

Jimmy crossed his arms, "What do you mean?"

"The Florida and Colorado trip isn't going to work out for you guys." Stephanie sadly informed.

"What why?" they asked in a panic.

"Mom, does that mean I packed my stuff for no reason?" Johnny complained, throwing himself on the couch.

"No, us and Kaitlyn are still going but your cousins can't..."

"What are you talking about?" Zacky asked.

"I just got off of the phone with my sister and... she's ready for you guys to come back home."

All of the kids found it hard to comprehend. They were almost positive that their mother wasn't going to be able to recover from her mental breakdown. When they were shipped off to New Jersey their mom was a complete and utter mess.

Matt slowly sat down beside Johnny, "Aunt Steph, please tell us that this is some awful joke that you're pulling."

She had tears in her eyes. Stephanie just hated to see her niece and nephews go. "I'm sorry."

"This sucks!" AJ started crying. "Why now does she choose to want us back? Right when everything is going perfectly she has to ruin it!"

"Guys," Hunter finally spoke up with his deep voice, "You've been with us since summer. You knew your mom was going to get better eventually."

AJ wiped her tears then sniffled."What about Dean?"

"You have his phone number." Stephanie said, knowing that talking over the phone wasn't going to be the same as seeing him in person.

"What about Bayley?" Jimmy's voice cracked, "Does that mean I'm never going to see her again?"

"And Carmella." Zacky added, "We can't just leave like this. We have friends here."

Synyster roughly ran his hands through his jet black hair, "Aunt Steph this is so unfair!"

Stephanie held back her tears, "I know it's a hard pill to swallow but-"

"Did you forget to tell her that my girlfriends pregnant?" Matt raised his voice. "Just the other day I promised that I'd be there for her and now I'm leaving because Ms. Amy Lee decided she's ready to be a mother again?"

"You guys need to calm down." Hunter tried telling them but that seemed to get the kids even more riled up.

"Don't tell us to calm down!" AJ talked back, "Does my mom really expect us to forget the life we have here and go back to being miserable?"

"We can work something out." Hunter suggested, "You guys always come over for the holidays so you'll be able to see your friends again."

"For how long? 3 days to a week if we're lucky?" Synyster blurted.

"I rarely ever agree with Syn but he has a point." AJ told them.

"What do you want us to do?" Stephanie rhetorically asked, "She's your mother. I'm not. You guys have to go back. If it was up to me I'd let you guys stay but you can't."

"But-"

"This conversation is over." Stephanie raised her voice. "Your flight leaves at 12pm so be ready. Amy will be waiting for you guys at the Huntington Airport." Stephanie hated how she had to get loud with the kids. She understood why they were upset. Hell, she was pissed for them but having them stay with her and Hunter was just out of the question.

-New Jersey Airport-

Everybody waited inside the airport until the gates to their flight would open. The guys and AJ hugged their cousins, Aunt, Uncle, and said their final goodbye's.

"I'm gonna miss you living with us AJ." Kaitlyn admitted, still having her in a firm hug.

AJ wiped more of her tears away. "Same. But we'll try to visit as much as we possibly can."

"You better."

Hunter put his muscular arm around Kaitlyn, "C'mon kiddo. We have to board the flight. We can't wait for you kids to come over again."

"Us either." they said sadly.

They watched their Aunt, Uncle, and cousins board the plane. The kids waved to them one last time before watching the plane ascend up into the sky and disappear into the clouds.

They all sighed. AJ turned around and saw Dean and his parents appear in the airport. She walked up to them slowly. "Hey."

"Hi." Dean said. He looked over to his parents, "Mom. Dad. This is my girlfriend AJ that I always told you about."

AJ looked at Dean's mom and could tell right off the bat that she was the perky type. His mom brought her in for a tight hug, "It's so nice to meet you!" she said, nearly squeezing the life out of AJ.

"Honey, don't strangle the poor girl." Dean's dad told his wife.

"I'm sorry." she flipped her long blonde hair to the back. "It's just so nice to finally meet you. I'm Maria and this is my husband Jacoby."

Jacoby was kind of tall but Dean was taller. He had his blonde hair spiked up almost like how a rock star wears it and he had a sleeve of tattoo's. "I'm Jacoby." he smiled shaking AJ's hand, "See, I don't have to have to nearly strangle somebody to show that I'm excited to meet them." Maria stuck her tongue out at her husband.

"It's a shame you're not going to be able to come on the trip with us. We were really looking forward to having you with us." Maria told her.

"Believe me," AJ said, "I was really looking forward to it too."

"Maybe next time you're in town we could all go somewhere to make up for this." Jacoby added.

AJ looked down not knowing if she was ever coming back. Knowing her mom, she'd probably never send them to New Jersey again. The only reason they were shipped with Stephanie was because Amy had always been jealous of her, so she decided to make her sisters life hard by making Steph take care of her rebellious kids. Surprisingly, things didn't turn out bad. Amy wouldn't be happy.

"Mom. Dad. Can you give us some privacy please?"

"Oh sure." they agreed. "We'll be over here." they walked away.

There was an awkward silence for a few moments. "I can't believe you're actually leaving."

"Me neither. This feels so surreal. Right when everything seems to be going our way something always has to come out of the blue and mess things up."

"Sorry." Dean slouched, burying his gloved hands into his pockets, "I'm just bad luck."

"No you're not. You've actually made my life a roller coaster so thanks."

Dean smiled warmly at her. He knew things were going too perfectly. It was just a matter of time that it was going to get ruined. He brought her in for a warm, well needed, embrace. Dean rested his chin on the top of AJ's head while she laid the side of her face on his chest. "I'm going to miss you."

"I promise I'll call you everyday."

"Good, I don't know if I can go an entire day without hearing your voice."

The boys were waiting for their flight until their phones went off simultaneously and they all read the same text message. 'Turn around.'

They turned around and saw their girlfriends walking towards them.

Jimmy was the first to run up to them and lift Bayley off of her feet. He didn't care if he was in public and people would see him cry. He just let it all out. "Don't forget about me, okay."

Bayley cried softly in his arms, "Never planned on that."

"If anyone ever tries messing with you at school just kick their asses." he smiled at her with tears still rolling down his face.

"I'm not going to let those fighting lessons you gave me go to waste." she swept away his tears with her sleeve. "I'm going to miss you." she kissed his cheek.

He leaned down, planting a soft kiss on her glossed lips, "I'm going to miss you too."

Synyster held Paige by her hands and tried to find the words to say. He stood their looking at her and nothing could describe how he was feeling. His arms snaked around her waist and brought her into a kiss that felt like it lasted forever.

Paige finally pulled away slowly, "So I guess this is goodbye then, huh?"

"Let's not say goodbye, ok. I'm just going to say... See you soon."

Paige wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him one last time before he would have to leave.

Zacky and Carmella sat up against the walls with her head resting on his shoulder. "Are you ever going to come back?" she asked.

"Maybe for another holiday but I don't know. My mom might not want to send us back here considering we stayed for longer than she expected." he explained disappointingly.

Her eyes gazed down to the cold, tiled, black and white floor. "Even if you aren't able to make it back. I'll find a way to fly over to you."

Zacky smiled, kissing her cheek, "I'd like that. Maybe I'll run away for a week or two so I can come back and visit you sooner."

Carmella chuckled, "Well I'll be waiting for you."

Matt and Becky were sitting on the chairs and held hands on top of the steel armrest. "Bex... I can't believe this is happening. If I knew about this sooner I would have done whatever I could to stay with you."

"I know you would have." she breathed deeply, "I just hate to see you leave so soon."

"I promise I'll still try and help you. I'll send you money so you can take care of yourself and buy things for the baby. Somehow I'll find my way back here. I want to be with you and help you raise our son or daughter. I don't want you to go through this alone."

"I hope you mean that."

Matt felt somebody tap on his shoulder. It was AJ. "We have to start boarding the plane." she informed then stepped through the gates and waved at Dean one last time.

Matt stood up and sighed, "I have to go now."

Becky finally started tearing up. She hugged him tightly and didn't want to let go. Matt didn't want her to let go. "I love you so much." she told him.

"I love you too." he whispered to her before having to walk away.

AJ and the guys found their seats on the plane. They were all separated from each other. When AJ looked out the window there was an air plane parked parallel to them. The person sitting by the window in the other plane was Dean.

He turned his head and saw AJ. She held her hand up to the glass as Dean did the same.

"Everybody fasten your seat belts. Flight 175 will be taking off shortly." the flight attendant informed over the PA system.

Before AJ knew it the plane had already started moving. Leaving behind the life that she had just warmed up to and the only person she always wanted to be with. "Goodbye Dean." she said to herself.

"Goodbye AJ."
