Denying

Shizuo swung his fist around as soon as Izaya's knife released claim of his neck. Although the near-instantaneous reaction, Izaya was already gone. The bartender didn't know what to think. His arch-nemesis passing up the opportunity to kill him? There was a clear advantage point, yet he didn't use that chance. Shizuo was frozen in place, then it suddenly dawned on him that Izaya might only be keeping him alive because he was going to use him for something. That seemed most like him.
Turning around in a circle, he didn't know which direction to face. He bellowed to the skies.
"IZAYAAAAAAA!!!"
"Shizuo, you need to stop."
In his fit of anger, Shizuo had completely blocked Shinra out of his mind. He'd done the same when he had destroyed Izaya's property too.
Shinra looked utterly exasperated, drained to the point that he was physically affected.
"Why do you do that?"
"Do what?" Shizuo grumbled, irritated.
"You go off the handle every time you see Izaya. You aren't even capable of witnessing his shadow without gritting your teeth."
Shizuo knew this was true. There was no way he could ever see Izaya without wanting to kill. Even when he would think of the raven-haired man, he needed to restrain himself from breaking the nearest wall.
Despite understanding that Shinra was absolutely correct, he still wasn't willing to admit defeat.
"How can you live with only the purpose of getting rid of Izaya?"
Shizuo didn't want to speak any further on this matter, but the doctor continued to push the situation. He kept saying the flea's name. Shizuo didn't want to hear anything related to him. He wanted to say that he is changing his life so Izaya wasn't involved at all, but that only confirmed Shinra's accusation.
Rather than responding, he stood there, fuming. Shinra was waiting expectantly. When he opened his mouth again, Shizuo howled "shut up! I don't want to hear about this bullshit, especially not from you."
Shinra was quiet, seemingly taken aback from Shizuo's outburst, but when Shizuo looked at his face there was no expression change.
"I'm going home," was all he said, and began walking away from the monster of a man.

A/N:
I sincerely apologize for all the mistakes that are in this book. I was re-reading all of the chapter previous to this one and found many mistakes. They haven't been fixed yet because I didn't want to clog up notification inboxes (like some people) just in case I needed to edit something later. As soon as I complete this, there will be severe editing going on, as well as a cover change. As always, thank you for reading!
Love any feedback, love ya Shizaya fans!
