Laughing.

Crying.

Candy.

Fun.

These were all words used the day that their father would never see, hear, or have, again.

This was the day their father would come home.

But in a casket.

It was November 10th, 2013. Bailey's 7th birthday. There were candy, cake, and presents.

Bailey felt like a princess, with their hair braided in a ponytail, a plastic crown and costume dress, and their dog dressed like a dragon.

They had the best party ever. With a Piñata, hacky-sack, sack races, pin the tail on the unicorn, the party seemed like a dream. A dream that they wanted to last forever.

Forever and ever.

That was not the case.

See, their father had went overseas to America to pay back debts. While he was there, a American street gang robbed him off everything other than what was in his suitcase. He only had enough for one flight, and he had 5 to make for his job. He paid for the flight, got on the plane, and that would be the last time he set foot on earth.

Right as they were cutting cake, a friend wanted to watch the news. When they turned it on, this was what they heard.

"Breaking News. A plane crashed in Dublin, flying in from New York City, USA, at 11:17 am. Locals say that the number of passengers seems to be 146 people, with 20 injured, and 13 deaths, including Dr. Jordan O'Malley,  a doctor at a local college, Ms. Lola Garamond, a American bank teller's wife, and Thomas O'Conner, a entrepreneur who started his own farm outside of Dublin. We'll announce more names after this."

Bailey was heartbroken. They screamed, cried, kicked, and flailed, torn away from the happiness of their birthday, to be in sorrow and grief over their father. Once they calmed down, they tried to settle down and enjoy the party before they made funeral plans, but Bailey was never the same after his death.
