Overhaul hadn't ever felt this way before. Correction: nor Kai Chisaki or Overhaul had ever felt this way before.

Even before his shocking transformation into a ruthless, cold, cruel Yakuza leader, the young, innocent orphan with a knack for picking fights hadn't come in contact with such feelings before.

What sort of feelings?

Love. Pure, unadulterated love.

It was a wild sort of love. It was a sort of love that had the Yakuza leader dropping nearly everything he had ever worked for — all for this one person he was smitten with.

Goals were shoved in the back of his mind when he was with them. Yakuza work was the least of his concerns. He was just focused on loving them, loving his angel.

His angel always accompanied him. When Overhaul was angered, they were there to soothe and calm him down before he blew someone up (which was mainly Rappa—)

If he needed someone to run an errand for him and his subordinates were busy, they'd do the errand without question.

...and an even more important thing...

They helped him when his memories haunted him at night.

Memories were always a weakness of Overhaul's — after all, he had tons of them. Being thrown out by his parents because of what his quirk had done, being yelled at by people on the streets to scram, and Pops finding him and taking him in.

Perhaps the last one was a good memory, but Overhaul didn't differentiate. No, it was more like he couldn't differentiate. To him, thoughts memories were all stringed together, like a banner. They were all related.

With this said, Overhaul had always had nightmares. He always woke up trembling and in cold sweat; golden eyes wide and haunted.

His angel always held him tight after that — soothing words curling around him as the Yakuza leader buried his face in their chest: akin to a child. It might've been damaging for his reputation for Overhaul to act and be this vulnerable. However, did he really have the time to care about his pride?

With all this said, it is evident that his angel was a big part of his life. If Overhaul didn't have them, maybe he wouldn't have been able to survive this long. After all, his mind is an extremely scary place.

But then things changed.

Rumors were spread. The truth was revealed that Overhaul had put Pops in a coma. The golden-eyed male was thrown down from the position of leader — only to be replaced by Chronostasis, his right-hand man.

It stung. It hurt to be demoted. All that Overhaul had worked for... All gone.

But even worse of all...

His angel had left him.

Overhaul knew what he had done was wrong. Hell, he constantly has nightmares over the look of consciousness seeping out of his mentor — his father figure. He has nightmares over the fact that he watched this happen — all without flinching.

It shocked him what he could do. It shocked him what sort of monster he was. But what could he do about it? The damage was done.

His angel wouldn't talk to him anymore.

The ex-Yakuza leader now slept alone in a cold, empty room locked from the outside. His hands were chained behind his back — to prevent what Mimic dubbed as 'another Pops.' This infuriated Overhaul: Mimic had been his greatest supporter.

Was it this easy to change the male's mind?!

However, even with all these new changes, Overhaul still couldn't shake one thought from his mind.

Angel, Y/N... They were gone from his life. Forever.

To be honest, Overhaul was kinda getting used to being someone they loved.
