Karma pt2

a/n: hey everyone! this oneshot has spoilers still, but no mentions of abuse anymore! (there's angst as well) this continuation was also requested by someone!

anyway, in the last oneshot, i had asked for your input on which characters i should make oneshot books for, and i've made the books!

i've released:

- a dabi oneshot book (one oneshot so far-)

-a shie hassaikai oneshot book (setsuno + rappa oneshots available now, more info in the first chapter)

-a league of villains oneshot book (i have a kurogiri oneshot planned!)

i'm also planning to create a toga oneshot book soon, but i'm not sure when i'll be able to get to it!

anyway, please enjoy part two, and thanks again for all the support!!!

(p.s.: Reader has a quirk)

Reader's Quirk:
Metal Parts
The user is able to create metal objects that act like new limbs when the part is completely finished. They can attach these limbs to their own body or choose to attach it to someone else. The metals never disappear, but creating these metals takes from the iron deposits of the user's body. If the quirk is used too much, light-headedness can be experienced, so metal limbs/parts can only be made gradually over time.

Overhaul.

That's a dead name at this point in time for Kai Chisaki, the fallen Yakuza leader. He's not worthy enough for that name anymore. He's just a quirkless man now - someone who's defenseless and useless.

His hands were the main source of his quirk, and the section of his arms that had stretched across from his elbow to his fingertips is now completely gone, thrown to the side just like his life goals.

Speaking of those goals - they've gone to sh*t.

There's no way he can cure the world of quirks with the state he's in, but at this point, Kai's not so sure if he wants to do that anymore.

It's funny that he's thinking so differently about everything he's built his life up around, but getting arms chopped off can really change a mindset.

Namely, Kai's mindset.

He's no longer infatuated by the idea of curing the world of quirks; no longer crazed over by the thought of these powers. All he wants right now is to his arms restored to him, but he knows he's done too many bad things for a powerful healer to pity him.

Kai can feel himself about to slip back into the darkness - it's pressing at the corners of his blurry eyesight as he lays there - but then he hears a familiar voice. That loud voice sparks a small flame of hope in his heart, and he blinks, willing the darkness to retreat from his eyesight. Kai painfully turns his head to look at the shadowy figure that's slowly walking through the smoke that surrounds him.

"I heard they were transportin' Overjerk over to the jail, but the truck was intercepted by some weirdo lizard man! I bet 'cha that big ole boss man'll be over here-"

The large, muscular form of Rappa emerges out of the smoke, and the man who's short of passing out can tell that the ex-fighter is surprised to see Kai's state of being.

"Damn, what happened, Overjerk?"

Rappa asks loudly as he trudges forward unevenly to his leader with an obvious limp to his step. When the fighter gets closer, Kai can see that Rappa's a bit beat up.

Wait, correction: really beat up.

The male's shirt is torn, the white fabric frayed and worn from what must've been an intense fight. Rappa's mask is also ripped - mainly the bottom of it - and Kai can see that there's blood dripping down the side of the man's face. Rappa, despite his own rugged appearance, looks quite excited.

"Y-You..."

Kai breathes out shakily, his breath catching in his parched throat when he hears loud footsteps on pebbles. The weak leader is about to struggle as panic filled him, but Rappa stops him, a large, firm hand coming down to press Kai down.

"Calm down, Overhole! I've come with the Shie Hassaikai. I can tell that ya ain't in the best state right now, so I'd advise ya not to move!"

The next person to appear from the smoke is Chrono, who's coughing loudly, a bandaged hand covering the lower half of his handsome face. The right-hand man's eyes are screwed shut against the smoke, but when Chrono finally opens them and lays his eyes on Kai, he perks up.

"Overhaul!"

Chrono exclaims, a joyful smile making its way on his boyish features, and he rushes to Kai's side. However, when he notices that the man is bleeding heavily from the stubs of where his arms used to be, the smile immediately slides off.

"Wh - What happened?!"

Chrono demands to Rappa, who just shrugs.

"Don't ask me! I just came here and he was like this!"

Kai hears Chrono huff at Rappa's answer and then the pale-haired male turns his gaze to his leader, his eyes narrowed in determination. As he starts fumbling with the strips of dark fabric that are holding his boss down, Kai can see him wincing in pain.

"Your hand..."

Kai rasps, golden eyes trained on the bandages that are starting to unwravel on Chrono's right hand, and the confined male catches the glimpse of a bloody hand; a deep red gash sunken in the middle of it. Chrono smiles awkwardly in response, quickly wrapping his hand up again with the wet bandages.

"...Heroes. It's nothing, Overhaul. You're the most important right now."

The name makes Kai want to vomit, but he can't conjure enough strength in himself to tell Chrono that he's addressing him with the wrong name, so he keeps silent.

Chrono then finally gets the binds off of Kai, a strong hand on his back helping the male sit up. Kai looks at Chrono hazily, the shift in position causing more blood to flood from his severe wounds. The Yakuza leader then collapses into Chrono's chest, feeling light-headed, and he heard his right-hand man curse loudly.

Kai closes his eyes, and he passes out again. He can hear the frantic voice of Chrono jumbling with the barely recognizable tones of what seemed to be Mimic and Tengai's voice.

Kai's limbs feel different when he comes back to his senses again; they feel a little more normal now, though there's some sort of cold surface pressing against the skin there. The smell of smoke is also no longer clouding his lungs either, so Kai assumes that the Shie Hassaikai had carried him off. Soft fabric is surrounding his body, and his skin feels smooth again.

Kai then decides to open his eyes, shocked to see someone he had never expected to see again; they're sitting in a seat across from the bed he's laying on.

Y/N.

Y/N looks visibly drained, with dark eye bags under their eyes, but when they notice that Kai's finally awake, they seem relieved. Y/N gets up from their seat, choosing to walk over to the bed side, and Kai's finally hit with harsh realization as he stares up at them.

Things won't ever be the same again.

"Y-Y/N? B-Baby, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean f-for things to end up this way-"

Kai starts sniffling, attempting to keep the lump rising in his throat from choking him up, but it's no use. Tears start to trail down the yellow-eyed male's cheeks, soaking the pillow case under his head. Kai looks away from Y/N, trying to avoid meeting his lover's eyes.

Kai's ashamed of himself; ashamed of himself for crying and showing weakness. For years he's managed to keep up a cold front, not one tear slipping from his lidded orbs, so why now?

Why did he have to be such a failure?

"...Kai, please don't cry..."

A gentle hand suddenly cupped the side of Kai's face, and he's surprised to feel Y/N's lips against his. The kiss they share with him is gentle and sweet, and Kai can feel even more tears brimming under his eyes.

He wants so badly to hug them - to pull Y/N closer to his shivering body, but he can't.

"Y-Y/N..."

Kai starts shakily when they pull away from him, ready to apologize all over again, and tell them how much he loves them, but Y/N stops him.

"Kai, I have something to tell you first. You can ask and tell me everything else later but..."

They lift the blankets from Kai's body, and they gently brush their hand over the stubs of where his arms used to be. One glance down, and Kai sees small metal parts extending from where the stubs of his arms were.

"W-What is this...?"

Kai asks as he curiously looks down at it, and Y/N's tone is hesitant when they reply,

"I - I'm making metal arms for you, but it'll take a while, since my... quirk doesn't allow too much metal to be produced in a short amount of time. Listen, Kai, I have... a quirk."

Kai's shocked of course - he had no idea. Y/N had never shown signs of a quirk in the past, but now that he thinks of it, sometimes they were seen with many metal objects.

"Please don't be mad."

Y/N then hastily adds, their hands coming out to grasp the area where Kai's hands used to be, but they suddenly realize their mistake when Kai looks at them with wide, teary eyes again.

However, the emotion in the yellow eyes is no longer sadness: it's joy.

"I... I'm not angry... I'm really thankful actually... Thank you, baby..."

Kai whispers, his eyes filled with emotion as he stares up at Y/N, and then his face flushes as he looks down at his arms. He's embarrassed to say this last part, but he really needs it.

"Can... C-Can you hold me in your arms?"

"Oh - of course!"

Y/N said, visibly surprised, but they don't hesitate to lift his body into their arms, and Kai shuts his eyes as he's surrounded by their warm, sweet-smelling body.

He loves Y/N so much.

He's so glad he didn't lose them forever.

Everything will be fine now.
