Chapter 42: He kinda had a point, kiddo
Go check out my one-shots book and show it some love<<3
Peter had cooled off significantly by the time he got back to the Tower. He trudged through the foyer, ripping his arms from the sleeves of his jacket and kicking off his shoes with the last bit of anger left in his system. After that whole ordeal, all he felt was exhausted. He wanted to lie down and sleep, preferably until Christmas.
Tony had noticed him walk in, from the noise caused by his temper tantrum of course. Not because he'd been waiting for him to get back or anything like that. He sipped his coffee casually, pushing himself off the counter where he leaned.
"Hey kid, how'd it go?" He asked as Peter flopped down onto the couch face first. "Not good, huh?"
Peter grumbled in response.
Tony chuckled lightly, tugging at his neck brace as he took a seat next to his son. He placed a hand on Peter's shoulder awkwardly. "Listen," he started, not really sure how to go about having this conversation. "I know things are weird right now, with both MJ and here at home, but i called Pepper in Germany while you were gone."
Peter rolled over slightly so he could see Tony out of the corner of his eye. He was really starting to get sick of people justifying their actions with a lecture like this.
"Hey, don't give me that look!" Tony scolded and Peter flushed with embarrassment. Apparently he wasn't very good at hiding how he felt. "I haven't even told you what we talked about yet."
"I know, I'm sorry," Peter said with a lazy wave of his hand. "Please continue."
Tony huffed but continued nonetheless. "As i was saying, i called Pep, and we both agree that you should go back to school again this week-"
Peter shot up at that. "Wait, what about everything here?! I can't just leave!"
Tony rolled his eyes as if he'd been expecting a reaction like this. "You're not leaving, you're going to school for seven hours and then coming home. It's time you start prioritizing your academics and social life again, rather than all this Steve drama and Spider-Man-"
"Why Spider-Man?!"
"Peter," Tony said through clenched teeth. "Please stop cutting me off."
"Sorry."
Tony sighed heavily, suddenly feeling rather tired. He gave Peter's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "We're not cutting you off from Spider-Man, but we do want you to try and be a normal teenager, if only for a little bit. Until we get everything sorted out with Steve and the Avengers."
Peter nodded, wanting to argue but in the end, seeing no point. Tony had won this argument once already so why even try? The grumpy teen got up off the couch and trudged to his room. It was still rather early and today already sucked. First MJ and now this? What's next?
Super short i know don't be mad! Next chapter we'll really get into things...stay tuned! Much love as always<3
