Chapter Thirty-One

Nelson's PoV

Last night, Butch dropped me off at the infirmary after we heard Ari screaming at Annie. He said we would continue our discussion later, but it was clear that Capture the Flag was over. Will had burst in shortly after we arrived, and he was busy for the next few hours healing campers who got injured during the game. His sister, Kayla, was the one who checked me back in and checked on my stitches. She gave me some more ambrosia and said she could take my stitches out tomorrow morning, and I would be as good as new. In that time, Butch had gotten the story of what happened from one of his siblings, and he told me all about the prank and the claimings before he went to bed. I could only hope that Annie and Ari could resolve their issues. It sounded like they had a pretty big fight.

I had nightmares all night. I saw my mom as a ghost standing in front of a table with three other ghosts behind it. They were discussing what she had done in life, and declared her fit for Elysium because of her past military service. The scene changed, and she was relaxing in a pool chair by the side of a backyard pool. Suddenly, there was an earthquake, and my mom shrieked as she got up and stumbled to the house. The ground split open from under her, and she fell into the abyss of the gods know where. I couldn't scream. I couldn't run. I was helplessly stuck in place as a witness. My mom was happy, and then she was gone.

I woke with a start. It was early morning. Austin, another Apollo camper, was walking around to check on campers that were still asleep. Once I settled my breathing, I called out to him. The sooner I could get out of here, the better. I needed to talk to someone about my dream. It would probably be best to talk to Nico or Hazel. They are children of the Underworld after all, and Ari was new to all of this.

Austin gave me another half of a square of ambrosia, and he took the stitches out of my stomach. The godly food took away some of the pain, but not much. He gave me some pain killers and checked me out of the infirmary. I walked to the Hades cabin, and as I was about to knock on the door, Gab and Ari came up behind me with Connor and Travis in tow.

"Do you know where Piper is?" Gab asked hurriedly.

"I think I saw her walking to cabin one. Why?" I asked. Instead of responding, ze grabbed my arm and dragged me after em. "Hey! What are you guys doing?" I shouted as I stumbled into a run.

Again, no one answered. We skidded to a hault in front of the Zeus cabin, and Ari pounded on the door. "Piper! We need your help!" She kept pounding on the door until Piper and Jason pulled it open with a bang.

"What's going? What's the emergency?" Piper asked wildly while she pulled out her dagger.

"Annie. She's screaming in her sleep, and she won't wake up!" Connor said, tears started to gather in the corners of his eyes.

"She's what?!" I asked, whipping around to face the other four.

"We need you to charmspeak her into waking up!" Travis exclaimed, his face white.

"I'll get Will," Jason said, kissing Piper on the cheek before running out of the cabin. Piper ran after us to the Hermes cabin where Annie was screaming and thrashing around on her bed. A lot of people were already surrounding her bed.

We pushed our way through the crowd of people to the edge of her bed. Piper grabbed her hand and told her to wake up. It didn't work. She kept screaming, and Piper kept trying to tell Annie it was a dream. Just wake up. It was no use. Finally, Piper straightened up, and with as much force as she could muster, she shouted, "Annie! Wake up!"

Annie sat bolt up right in bed. Her eyes were wild with fear. I almost cried in relief. At least she was awake. "Oh gods, you wouldn't stop screaming. Annie what happened?"

Before she could answer, Will and Nico started pushing their way through the crowd. "Out of the way! Give her some space. Hello, medic coming through!" Will shouted.

He started giving her a check up, but to everyone's surprise, Annie pushed him away. "I appreciate it, Will, but I'm fine. There is something more important I need to tell you guys. We need to have the meeting. Now." I had never seen her look more serious in my life.

Hey guys, I know I haven't updated in a few days, but I finally got The Hammer of Thor for Christmas. I had been reading that the past two days, and today I had two other stories in my head that I wanted to write. One of them is a new one called Child of the Darkness which is an idea I've had for a while, but I decided to go ahead and publish the first chapter and prologue. It would mean a lot if you checked it out, but I probably won't update that one as often as I update this. The other story is on a squad account called ThePJO_HOOSquad The story is called Growing Up Haunted. There are also a lot of other stories on there by other people on the account that are super amazing! You guys should go check it out! I hope you guys have a good day!
