AN: hey all of my faithful readers, this is the last chapter before the sequel, which I have no idea the time in which I will post it (I'll notify y'all when it's out) Thanks for staying with me :) also I'm gonna change the title of this fic soon

Nico POV

Nico sat in the back of the black suburban owned by his father. The black leather interior was more intimidating today, and the seatbelt rubbed his neck. The back was full of multiple suitcases, prepared for getting Nico through a year in Italy. The car wove through highway, the colors of the passing cars swirled in the window. Nico's DS sat in his lap, MarioCart frozen on the home screen, the familiar music flowing through his ears.

Nico checked his phone beside home, Will had said he would text him when he arrived at the airport. No message. Nico sighed softly at himself, like Will would get there before Nico himself. He glanced out the window, trying to read the bumper stickers on the car to the side of them. He failed.

In the passenger seat, Hazel cleared her throat, "So, Nico are you excited to study abroad? Nervous?"

Nico narrowed his eyes onto the dashed white lines on the highway before muttering "I dunno."

Hazel sighed and leaned back in the seat.

Hades cleared his throat beside Hazel, "There's one hundred dollars on your card, that should fuel any necessities that you absolutely need. The school provides food and board. Don't call me unless thee is an emergency."

"Yup." Nico pulled his DS closer to him and turned up the volume, tuning him out. He pulled up the hood on his sweatshirt and brought his legs to his chest.

"We're almost there, let me get a parking spot." Hades grumbled, pulling into a parking garage. The suburban went in a few circles before finally pulling into a suitable spot. "Get out. Hazel help Nico with his bags."

Hazel nodded. Nico shoved his DS into his backpack and checked his phone again. No message. Nico tapped his foot impatiently as he grabbed a suitcase plastered with mythomagic stickers out of the back of the truck. Will should be here soon. Will is going to be here soon.

Hades, Hazel and Nico hauled the bags into the airport, tagged them, checked them in and loaded them on. The only bag left was the galaxy patterned backpack on Nico's back. After getting that bag checked in, Nico went through the security scanners.

After what seemed like (and probably was) hours. Nico sat down between Hazel and Hades. He checked his phone again. Still no message. Nico tapped his foot anxiously. Damn it Will, why are you late?

Hazel looked over to Nico. "You ok Neeks? You seem anxious?"

Nico grumbled, "Its Nico, thank you, and I'm waiting for somebody."

"Will?" Hazel gave a wink.

"Shhhhh." Nico waved his hands in Hazel's giggling face, his own reddening.

"Alrighty Neeks," Hazel gave a fake smile to mask her sadness. Hades tended to be harsher on her when it was just the two of them. "I'm gonna miss your stupid butt, y'know."

Nico gave a small smile, "I'll miss your stupid face too."

"Nico I just want you to know that even though we're an ocean apart and even though we're technically half siblings, I'm still your sister and I'll always be there for you." She glanced over to Hades, who was engulfed in a particularly loud work call. She cupped her hand around Nico's ear and whispered, "No matter what he says, I know this isn't the best for you, and if you ever need support, you have my number." Hazel threw her arms around Nico, "I'll miss you so much." Nico's phone buzzed in his pocket. Hazel wiped her eyes and smiled, "Looks like your date is here. Go on now."

Nico gave his sister another hug and stood up. He scanned the crowd, before his eyes landed on the familiar blonde, tanned idiot, waving a bracelet clad hand. Nico waved his hand back. Will saw and started running towards Nico. As Will was running, Nico caught Hades in the corner of his eye. He dragged his finger across his neck, signaling for Will to stop running. Will, luckily got the message and slowed his pace, walking to greet Nico.

Nico barley restrained himself from throwing his arms around Will's larger figure. "I'm glad you came."

Will smiled, "Why wouldn't I?"

Nico started walking back to his bags, Will followed.

Hades glanced up at Will, "you must be Nico's friend," he paused and narrowed his eyes at Will, "Excuse me, young man, are you wearing cosmetics?"

Will smiled, "Oh, the eyeshadow, yeah. My mom says it brings out my eyes."

Hades face scrunched up, silently fuming. "Your mother should be ashamed of how she's raising you."

"Well!" Will stopped, turned to and whispered, "This is the guy sending you away right?"

"Yup."

Will raised his voice, something Nico had never seen him do before "Well at least my mom isn't sending her son away because she can't deal with him!"

"Young man, are you aware that you are in a public space?" Hades spoke cold and sharp.

"Don't even try to deny it!" Will's voice rose higher, "The only reason you're sending him away is because you can't deal with a son who isn't perfect!"

Hades stiffened "He is my son and I can do what I see fit with him."

"Dad," Nico spoke up, quietly. "Maybe Will's right."

"Nico shut up."

"Dad!"

"I said be quiet!"

"Dad, since you don't care about me I might as well tell you now!" He turned to Will, then glanced back at Hades and smirked, "I'm gay." He grabbed Will's face and touched their lips together. "Bye, Will."

Nico grabbed his backpack and ran through the gate, Hades yelling behind him.

Will smiled and walked out of the airport and climbed into his waiting brothers car.
