(December 12th, 2019)

Logan woke up to the sound of his alarm going off. He internally groaned. He had set his alarm for 6:00 in the morning as he always does. You wouldn't catch him saying this to anyone, but he was NOT a morning person. He wanted to present himself as put together and organized and being a morning person definitely made him feel more established.

Logan walked into the kitchen and started making himself breakfast. He had the same thing every morning and his friend Virgil always complained that it was "boring" but Logan thought it was rather satisfactory. Toast with Crofters jam.

After he finished making his breakfast, he sat on the balcony of his small apartment. It was placed at the very top of the Apartment Complex, so he got an amazing view. He was sitting outside watching the sun-rise when he got a call from Virgil.

He sighed, wondering what his only friend was doing, calling him at 6:00.

"Yes, Virgil?" Logan asked into the phone.

"Logan, thank god! I'm kinda, sorta REALLY freaking the FUCK out because while I was working at the coffee shop, this dude ordered and tried to get my number, so I tried to signal that I wasn't interested but he took me not speaking as an insult and he caused such a big scene and I froze up in front of everyone and they all probably think I'm stupid and- " Virgil's panicked voice came through the other end.

"Virgil, it's ok. In for four, hold for eight, out for seven. Remember that being selectively mute isn't your fault. The bastard should have respected your privacy." Logan said in what Virgil could only assume was his attempt at a calming voice.

"I know, it just sucks. I wish I could just say 'Fuck you' or some shit to make them leave, but I can't," Virgil said, voice still shaky.

Logan sighed and checked the time. "Look Virge, I have to go for work, but once I'm done I'll swing by the shop and pick up a coffee, okay?" He said.

"Fine nerd. I'll see you in a bit. Thanks for helping me out again," Virgil said.

"It's quite alright Virgil. I'll see you soon," Logan said before hanging up. He took a deep breath, grabbed his wallet and keys, and stepped outside to drive people around town for the rest of the day.
