jiwoong kind of got distracted and had a couple drinks, talked to a couple girls, and made out with some of them. once he finally did find the canadian boy, he let out a sigh of relief and decided to keep a distance. gyuvin did clearly say to take care of him and he will do as he said because he's a good hyung.

and also because he doesn't want to hear gyuvin nag at him, because he knows gyuvin would do anything for his little omega, ricky, he's been fawning over.

he couldn't blame gyuvin if he were completely honest. ricky was really attractive. the chinese was probably one of the most attractive omegas on campus by far, taking the title of campus prince in the fashion department. his bleached hair suited him, though he never really saw ricky with full on black hair. but he knew with looks and charms like that, gyuvin being the innocent little puppy he was would do anything for him, even though he was an alpha who was supposed to be much scarier and more dominant.

as the girl that was clinging onto his arm was talking to him, he glanced over at the boy he was supposed to be watching. he seemed to daze off staring at the boy who was at the side of a boy who he couldn't remember the name of. he's seen him around campus, and everything about that boy screamed alpha. the physique no doubt made it obvious that he was an alpha, and jiwoong somewhat felt insecure about himself all of a sudden even though he was somewhat a gym freak as well. the only thing that didn't entirely scream alpha in anyone's face was his face. he was good looking for sure but he kind of looked like a baby with his round face. jiwoong bit his lower lip as he watched the brunette sway his hips with the alpha's arm around his waist.

"jiwoong-ie," the girl beside him shook his arm, a pout on her face when jiwoong finally stopped analyzing every part of the alpha, "you're not listening to me."

"sorry, baby," jiwoong shook his head, leaning down to peck her cheek, "i'll get us a drink to make up for it, yeah?"

the girl happily obliged, skipping over to the sofa where her friends were, leaving jiwoong to walk to a different part of the house to get drinks from the kitchen. coincidentally enough, he walked past hao who didn't even notice his presence as he and the omega who reeked of hao's scent was sitting by the island table. the older chinese's hand was on the boy's thigh, caressing it softly and he was talking about something in his drunken state.

"jiwoong," hao's voice made him halt to stop, turning around with a smile, "what are you up to?"

jiwoong shrugged, "just flirting here and there. no one of interest yet really, but i'm talking to this girl who's a beta. she's nice." he watched as hao's hand dropped from hanbin's cheek.

"getting drinks?" hao asked, watching as the elder walked over to the fridge, past the people who were lingering here and there, some on the counter. the alpha turned to the omega who had his head on the table, "get me a bottle of water."

jiwoong rolled his eyes, scanning the fridge for a bottle of water and grabbing it to throw over to hao. he got himself a bottle of soju and a can of beer, knowing he can easily make somaek. he closed the fridge and waved off to the alpha who was busy trying to sober up the omega who was now on his lap, and made his way back to his date for the night.

oh right, he was supposed to watch over matthew.

he scanned the house, looking for the cute, petite boy he saw earlier. he finally laid his eyes on the brunette, who was still with the alpha he saw earlier. they were laughing and giggling amongst themselves, and jiwoong couldn't help but scoff. matthew was supposed to with him tonight, but part of him was bothered that he was with someone who could be dangerous. or maybe, just maybe, it was their close proximity that bothered him. matthew was someone his friends treasured. it wasn't wrong to be bothered or worried. right?

he blamed his inner alpha for reacting the way he did. he walked over to the pair, forcing his way through the crowd and abandoning his bottle of soju somewhere, but holding onto his can of beer with his other hand. his free hand grabbed the younger's hand as he slipped in between the two that were way too close for comfort to him.

"huh? jiwoon hyung?" matthew looked down at his wrist that was being held by the elder. all he saw was the taller's back in front of him, and the subtle smell of burnt brown sugar, which told matthew that the alpha felt discomforted by something.

"let's go," jiwoong mumbled past the music, after glaring at the alpha who was just as lost and confused at what is going on.

matthew followed the taller anyways, looking back at the alpha he was talking to who rubbed the back of his nape and waved. he didn't know where jiwoong was taking him, "jiwoon . . "

the older finally stopped in a less crowded area in the house, letting go of the younger's wrist before finally turning around. he looked at the younger who was rubbing his wrist, "sorry was i too rough?"

matthew shook his head, cheeks flushing as he felt the lingering warmth around his wrist from the alpha. matthew was definitely drunk. he wasn't able to tug his hand out of the alpha's grip, even though it wasn't something he wanted to get out of.

"let me see," jiwoong grabbed the younger's hand softly, caressing his wrist, bringing it up to his mouth to kiss it lightly. matthew quickly pulled his hand away when he felt the older graze his lips on his wrist, making jiwoong surprised himself, "sorry"

matthew shook his head, ears turning red if his red face wasn't enough to explain how he was feeling. if he didn't have scent patches on or any of the hospital pills in his system, he would've smelled like sweet sweet creme brûlée that would've had every alpha on him. he watched as the alpha brought the beer can up to his lips, chugging the drink before crushing the can and tossing it to the nearest trash can. or it was more like matthew was eyeing the way jiwoong's arms were so big and his veins were popping out. he gulped.

"you're drunk," jiwoong cleared his throat, looking away awkwardly and nervously as he pulled some excuse out of his ass. he hoped he didn't sound awkward, because it was true anyways. matthew was drunk. matthew was one of his friend's friends, "gyuvin told me to take care of you."

"i don't need to be taken care of," matthew mumbled, looking down at his feet. he expected more. he expected the alpha to have more intention when he had came over to him. he hugged his arms, the sweater he had came to the party with lost and forgotten somewhere when he had taken it off because his hair started sticking on his sweaty forehead. the alpha he was talking to made him shy and dancing took all of his energy.

the alpha quickly noticed this, pulling off his own leather jacket and putting it around the younger. he watched as the boy reluctantly grabbed it, pulling it so that it wouldn't fall off his small frame. jiwoong sighed, "at least don't be so close with an alpha you don't know. you don't know what they're capable of."

"who says i don't know him," matthew mumbled in annoyance, despite the smell of brown sugar filling his nose. the leather jacket reeked of jiwoong and other subtle scents that he assumed were from the people he had talked to. he frowned at the memory of seeing the girl all over jiwoong earlier that he was too spaced out to realize the alpha he was talking to was asking him to dance.

"just because you're a beta doesn't mean you can go around other alphas," jiwoong scoffed, crossing his arms in front of his chest, "gyuvin and hao would kill me if anything happened to you."

"you didn't seem to care about me earlier," matthew suddenly hated the leather jacket over him. and the fact that jiwoong called him a beta. maybe it was best to hide the fact that he was an omega. jiwoong would probably freak out or something if he knew. it would only show that he was weak and unable to fend for himself, boosting the older's ego.

"seok matthew" jiwoong wondered how much this beta in front of him could piss him off this night. is that what he got for being all nice and friendly? a bratty omega coming his way?

"jiwoon hyung"

"it's jiwoong"

"jiwoon" matthew rolled his eyes, scoffing at how the alpha would dare fix him, as if it was such a serious manner.

"say jiwoong-ie hyung," jiwoong chuckled, deciding to tease the younger a bit more. he liked to see the shorter's ears turn red and the annoyed scrunch matthew had on his face. matthew was amusing. for once, it was a beta who didn't turn into jelly right in front of him. jiwoong didn't know that matthew liked the older but was choosing to be petty and the fact that he wasn't sober allowed him to act up.

"whatever, jiwoon-ie hyung," matthew grumbled, cheeks flushing red as he kept embarrassing himself for saying the older's name wrong, "s-still! you don't have to take care of me like i'm some kid."

"you're cute. anyone could snatch you up." the older caressed his cheek softly, a flirty tactic he rarely used because it was too affectionate. he could smell the scent of the other alpha on matthew even though it was faint. the scent on his jacket did a good job covering it up and jiwoong smiled in success.

matthew was a tomato at this point, moving the older's arm away softly, "a-as if you're not hot and anyone can snatch you up like those girls did" if jiwoong was going to resort in flirty tactics, then he will too. what made the older think that he needed to be protected when only one alpha had approached him tonight?

"jealous?," jiwoong smirked, raising his eyebrow in amusement. the younger quickly shook his head, stumbling a bit and struggling to stand up straight, making him lean onto the older, "see i told you. you are drunk."

"'m not drunk," matthew's words trailed off as he passed out onto the older's arms. who knew just making himself the slightest bit dizzy by shaking his head vigorously could make him pass out? the last thing he felt was the older's warm embrace around him and the lingering smell of brown sugar.

jiwoong only smiled, picking up the boy and hooking his arm under the boy's knees and one around the upper part of his body, "cute. you don't need me, huh?"
