"jiwoong, are you seeing someone?," his mother asked, trying to lighten up the mood with a small laugh, "we thought you wanted to be serious about your relationship with yechan-ie now."

jiwoong's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at his parents, "what?"

"didn't you say you got along well with jiwoong, son?," chairman yoon patted his omega son's thigh as he let out a god-annoying laugh, "you're just shy to say it now aren't you?"

jiwoong glared at the omega that was sitting across from him, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he leaned back against the couch. he could tell the omega felt a little bit timid and uncomfortable  around his father as usual, but something else ticked the alpha off. maybe it was the fact that his son wasn't denying anything his father said. he thought he had made it clear that he didn't want to meet with yechan anymore.

"yechan wanted to meet with you again," his own father spoke up, smiling at his alpha son, "won't you give him a chance? it really would be beneficial if you guys do end up getting married, for the company of course. he's a sweet, pretty boy at that, too."

the omega sitting on the other side looked at the alpha with a hopeful glimmer in his eyes. even though the first time they met had been months ago, he still couldn't get the alpha off of his mind no matter how many dates or dinners he was taken to and how many other alpha heirs he was set up with. there was something about the alpha that was sitting across from him, staring intently at him that made him feel different.

"you're not seeing anyone, are you sweetie?," his mom asked again, putting her hand on her son's.

yujin sat there awkwardly, looking down at his hands that were in his lap. he kept looking at the older, wondering what his brother would say and how he would respond. he didn't know why he felt anxious when this wasn't even concerning him. his palms felt sweaty and the tension in the room was so thick that he felt suffocated. he couldn't imagine how the older was feeling.

"i'm not interested."

yujin quickly whipped his head to his older brother who was looking at the other family with a stern, yet apologetic expression.

"are you sure?," chairman yoon had asked several seconds later, as if trying to process the rejection, "maybe you two should get to know each other better. how about your start living together for a change?—"

the alpha got up, pushing himself off the couch and straightening out his slacks as he smiled politely, "that won't be necessary," he then turned to the side to look at his parents who were as equally shocked, hoping that their son would reconsider his decision, "mom, dad, i'm already seeing someone so please don't set up anymore dates for me. i'll reject them all."

jiwoong then smiled at his younger brother who was looking at him with admiration. he ruffled the younger's hair, adding, "and please don't bother with yujin's love life either. i'll take over the company as you wish and provide you a heir, but only if you promise to stop with the blind dates," once the older saw the smile on his younger brother's face he turned back around to the yoon family, bowing slightly, "now if you'll excuse me, i have more important matters to attend to."

and with that, the alpha left the office, muting out the numerous times his name was called to stop and turn around. he ignored it all, letting out a sigh and calming himself down before his pheromones got all out of control and scared everyone he was walking past. he could only hope that his parents would listen to his wishes. he just wanted to be happy with matthew, raise their little pup together, and spend the rest of his life with the omega.

he, too, wanted his happy ending. just, how hard could it be?
