Four
"You let Charlie come home early? You can't just let him hide from his problems like that!" Jane said in frustration.
"He is getting bullied! It's not a problem. It's an issue, and we, as parents, must deal with it!" Julio shouted.
I don't remember when I fell asleep; the arguing echoing throughout the house woke me up. My parents never fought like this before, but ever since I got outted, it's been a constant argument.
I hid in my pillow as tears began to form in my eyes; the stress was getting to me. My parents are fighting because of me.
"Char?" Tori peaked in my room. It's around noon, and I still haven't left my bed.
My whole world was crashing down around me like broken glass.
"'Mmm?" I grumbled, looking up from my pillow.
"Do you want to go on a walk with me?" Tori suggested.
I knew she was trying to escape the fighting. I nod in response and get out of bed.
Tori is the best big sister I could ask for; the least I can do is go on a walk with her. It'll be nice to get some fresh air.
"Yes, just let me get dressed and brush my teeth," I said quietly.
My throat burned from crying last night. I sound so pathetic. I didn't fall asleep till 1 am, and the evil thoughts were so loud. I eventually fell asleep, blasting music in my earbuds.
Once I finished my morning routine, I avoided the mirror the best I could; I walked downstairs, where Tori was waiting by the front door.
"We are going to go for a walk!" Tori called out. They didn't seem to hear us as their arguing continued. I sighed and walked out with Tori.
We walked in comfortable silence. One thing about our sibling relationship is we can enjoy our company without having to have a conversation.
"Dad told me what happened yesterday," Tori began.
I tensed and looked at her; I didn't want my sister to pity me, either.
Tori didn't say anything and just hugged me. I sighed and melted into her arms, resting my head on her shoulder. The hug was what I needed.
"You don't deserve it," Tori told me sternly. I smiled softly and nodded. "Thanks."
We continued walking our usual route down to the park. The park was one of our favorite places when we needed a break from home.
It was peaceful and quiet. At least, that's what we thought until today. I froze as I spotted two guys sitting on the picnic table playing cards. It was Jackson and Max. I tug on Tori's arm, giving her begging eyes; I want to leave.
"What's wrong?" Tori asked in worry. I sighed and motioned over to them. "Those are the guys that harassed Tao and me yesterday. Can we-" I tried to say but drew a sharp breath as Tori stormed over to them.
This wasn't going to end well. Tori is very protective of me. I love it, but sometimes it puts us in bad situations
"why hello." Jackson smirked in delight at the sight of a girl, which he probably wasn't used to. He then saw me and rolled his eyes in disgust.
"Why isn't it the sibling freaks." Max laughed.
"Shut up." Tori snarled and kicked Jackson in the balls. I tried not to laugh in surprise as Jackson squeaked out. He fell to the ground in pain.
I looked at Tori with a grateful smile; it felt good knowing she would stick up for me like that. I would do the same for her any day.
