San's heart almost jumps out of his chest when he suddenly hears a 'boo!' behind him.
Wooyoung and Yunho are out of breath laughing while San pouts. "You just made the weirdest noise!" Yunho says, imitating it and making Wooyoung laugh harder.
"Where were you two? I've been slaving my ass around doing your work and you have the audacity to come to me now that I've finally found the guy? Are you serious!"
"Oh you've found them? Let's see!" Wooyoung shushes them when they hear people coming out from the back of the stall.
San is upset with them, annoyed that they made him do this alone and are only here now that he's basically finished his task. He almost wants to tell them it's the wrong guy and make them look for him themselves another time.
However, this little task isn't worth all that trouble. Especially now that he's finally found the person that the King wanted them to find, so he bottles up his feelings for now.
San notices Jongho's eyes widen a little when he sees the new guests, and when Wooyoung's presence registers in his head, the shock is evident on his face.
San frowns and looks back at Wooyoung, the spell that was supposed to cover his marks had worn off, Wooyoung also seems to realise this now too, after seeing Jongho's reaction to him.
Wooyoung figures since he's exposed now he might as well take it from here, San has already done so much for him. "Hello. I'm sure you're wondering as to what we are doing here, I'll just tell you straight up, we've heard some strange rumours about you".
Jongho frowns and Mingi next to him shuffles nervously. "Your highness". The pair bow to him but Wooyoung just waves it off, saying all that isn't necessary.
"These crops that you're selling. Word has spread that it's not from the shared land. You know it's illegal to sell anything that's not from the communal land we give out to families to grow crop". Wooyoung tries to be as intimidating as he can even though he doesn't know much about his kingdom's laws. He just hopes these guys will cooperate with him smoothly so he can just get this over and done with.
"My trusted advisor San has worked hard to find who has been breaking this kingdom's laws". Wooyoung pushes San towards them to introduce him but the other just looks back at him and gives him a death glare.
Jongho almost glares at San but he tries to hide his annoyance because these people definitely have the power to throw him in the dungeons if he looked at them wrong. Which also means that they can not find out about Yeosang's crops that he's been selling for the past two years.
"I'm afraid you're mistaken, your highness" Jongho displays a tight smile. "The produce that I'm selling is from the land my family own, I'm not sure where those rumours that they're from a secret place came from, but I can assure you that they are grown by me".
"Can we try them before buying?" San says, raising his eyebrows.
Jongho chuckles, almost caught off guard. "Usually, I would say no to such a request but since I have special guests today..." He gestures for Mingi to grab an apple from the stall display.
Mingi is about to hand it to them when San suddenly puts a hand in front of him to stop him. "Not from there, I want to try those ones". He points to the crate where Yeosang's food is kept.
The millisecond of panic in Jongho's face is enough to make San scoff, he's not dumb. He saw that Jongho had come out with that crate when he asked for the special food, but after they got questioned and asked for it again, he was going to give it from a different crate.
Knowing they have no other choice, they give their three guests an apple from Yeosang's bunch to try.
The prince widens his eyes, even though he lives in a castle and has the best of things given to him, he's never had such a tasty fruit. He looks at San and Mingi who also have a surprised expression, clearly thinking the same thing as him.
"This is definitely not made from the communal land, everyone uses the same spells to grow the crop. Unless you've created a new spell?" Wooyoung says, he is certain that this guy is lying.
"And, even if you've created a new spell, you're supposed to let the ministry of enchantments know so they can review it. If I'm not mistaken, this has been going on for two years?" San adds.
Jongho sighs. "I know it's hard to believe but it's true! this is grown on the land my family own, no new spells or anything!" Jongho tries to make it sound believable, Mingi nodding along too.
"Then show us"
"Pardon?" Jongho looks at the prince in surprise, he didn't expect him to suggest going to their farm, he was honestly just hoping he would give up.
He only nods, looking around. "It's not far from here right? Lead the way".
He glances at Mingi, who looks nervous and shrugs. They technically don't have a choice since he's right in front of royalty and he's the lowest of classes, so he literally has to do whatever he says.
The walk is short but it feels excruciatingly long because of the awkward silence. Mingi and Jongho are at the front, leading the way and the prince and his two companions are next to him, also finding it difficult to deal with the silence. They have to stay professional in front of these people instead of messing about like they usually do.
Finally, they make it and have something to talk about again. Jongho wastes no time in grabbing an apple from the tree, cleaning it with a spell then handing it to the prince.
Of course, it was expected but Jongho can't help his internal groan when the prince doesn't look satisfied.
"This tastes nothing like the one I had before". He says with a frown, passing it to San and Yunho who both have the same reaction.
"But I'm telling the truth! The one I gave at the stall was grown on this very tree". He pats the trunk for added effect.
"It's true! I harvested them with my own hands" Mingi adds, technically he harvested them with spells because he was too lazy but that is beside the point.
"Who are you exactly?" The tall boy beside the prince asks.
"I'm Mingi, I just work with Jongho's family. Who are you?" Mingi didn't like the tone of this guy, just that question made him feel irrelevant. Mingi is too tall to be irrelevant.
The other just scoffs, "I'm the prince's bodyguard" he points to his diamonds as if it was that obvious. Mingi opens his mouth to retaliate but he's stopped by San.
"Okay okay, whatever. Let's go back to the task on hand." He tries to prevent any arguing from happening, for the red's sakes because it's worse for them to be caught up in a fight with the prince's friends.
"Choi Jongho" San says, walking up to him and attempting to scare the answer out of him. He has an advantage since he's taller than him, moving closer and closer until Jongho is almost cornered between him and the tree. "Just tell us where you got the crop from because we all know they are not from here" he smirks at him. "If you tell us now, you won't get in trouble, it's better you tell us rather than some officials finding out".
They are only centimetres away from each other so Jongho has to turn his head up to make eye contact with San.
San is almost caught off guard when their eyes meet, Jongho's eyes looking bigger and distracting him. When he scoffs, his hot breath hits San and he almost forgets what he's here for until the other speaks. "I already told you." Jongho notices the change in San's eyes and uses this opportunity to inch dangerously close. "I grew them here".
Jongho stands his ground, refusing to let Yeosang be thrown into this problem. He knew there was a risk of getting caught but he and Mingi still begged Yeosang to sell his produce, he won't let his friend be found out.
It seems to have worked as the other steps back, huffing and mumbling 'fine'. Jongho looks at San's hazy expression, face red and cheeks pulsing a dark blue.
Luckily, the prince is on the same page too, "I see, we'll get going now. Thanks for your cooperation I guess". Wooyoung is done with formal talk, just wanting to go home. They give up suspiciously quickly which makes Jongho think they're not done interrogating him yet, but at least they are going for now. He watches as they hurriedly exit the farm, dragging San by his arms and whispering to each other.
"What was that" Mingi gives him a pointed look.
Jongho knows he's referring to what just happened with him and San but he doesn't know either. He had noticed San getting slightly flustered at their close proximity so he used that to his advantage to make him back out. He was surprised it worked though, he thought San would be stronger than that, he definitely carries himself like the stubborn, unfazed type. But one look with his bambi eyes and San had surrendered.
He remembers what Mingi had said when San first came. Jongho scoffs, maybe this San guy is actually attracted to him. He thinks about how his blue clovers darkened, exposing his emotions.
Oh, how he'd love to turn them red.
~
Yunho places his hand on San's shoulder "What the heck was that". He and Wooyoung were baffled at how confident San was, walking up to Jongho but as soon as they made eye contact, something in San switched off and he turned into a mess.
San shakes his head, trying to get the image of Jongho's face right in front of his, out of his mind. "I don't know" he whines. He's never done that in his life, he's never felt this flustered before, Usually, he can flirt with anyone and everyone, do whatever the hell he liked but one look from this Choi Jongho guy had him unable to speak. He feels pathetic.
"Now we've let them go! How are we going to finish our task-"
"Ah forget it" Wooyoung complains, this small task had given him a headache and those people were being difficult. He was dying to just go home by the end of it, it doesn't even matter. He'll just tell his father to give him a different one, maybe something more important so he can actually take it seriously.
~
"What do you mean you couldn't complete your task?" The king asks, Wooyoung winces at his harsh voice.
"We looked all day and no one was selling anything illegal, we even went and tried some of them." He tries explaining it to his father but the king doesn't seem to want to listen to him today.
"They are clearly lying, Wooyoung. How do you expect to carry out any duties as a crown prince if you believe everything people tell you?"
Wooyoung shifts uncomfortably in his seat, not knowing what else to say. "It's fine father, this was just a small meaningless task, you can give me something else to do instead-"
"How can I trust you to do something more important if you can't even track down a measly farmer?" The king gets frustrated at his son's incompetence. "Wooyoung, I know no one actually cares about some random farmers selling different food. The reason I told you to do this is because it was supposed to be an easy way of getting you started with the things we do to keep the kingdom in order. If you can't even do this then I don't even know what you can do".
The king's angry gaze is relentless, Wooyoung frowns. He knows his father has a point, he could have finished the tasks if he really wanted to, it was just that it was so boring so he gave up. He knows there are many more boring things Kings do, you'll never find Wooyoung in a meeting. He'd rather watch paint dry. He knows he's not cut out to be a King, the kingdom would turn to chaos an hour in if he ever became king.
But it's not like he has any choice. So Wooyoung decides to suck it in, he'll start with easy tasks so he can get used to it, maybe he'll discover that he actually likes carrying out royal duties.
"Son, let me put this into your head. This task I had you do wasn't a request or a choice, it was an order. This was supposed to be an easy task, you will be taking things seriously from now on. I will give you one week. All you have to do is give me the name and location of those who are growing and selling the illegal crops".
The king doesn't let him speak anymore, only leaving the room. Wooyoung scowls at the closed door in front of him, not having any idea of how to finish this task. He's not fazed by his father's harsh words, all his life he's been called all sorts of things like lazy, useless, troublemaker. The king eventually gave up taming him so he spent his teenage years completely free of any responsibilities, it was his coping mechanism. He only has his parents, no other siblings and even if he did, they'd probably hate him as his parents do too. 'Hate' is a strong word but sometimes (like just now), it feels appropriate.
The only people who loved him were Yunho and San. There was someone else though, his Seonghwa hyung. He and Seonghwa used to be really close, Wooyoung looking up to him like his own older brother. But one day, about a year ago, he just disappeared. Wooyoung tries not to think about it, not wanting to make his already down mood even worse.
~
Wooyoung is determined to get this done. It's true, he should be able to do this small task. It's getting embarrassing that he's taking this long.
The thing is, he doesn't know where to start.
Along with San and Yunho, they are back in the village market, just standing in the way of everyone. After a little more asking around when the three of them split up, which is much more quicker than two days ago when San was all alone. As they investigate, all three of them are lead to one name. Choi Jongho.
"I knew that little brat was lying to us" Wooyoung says, then hits San. "You just had to become a scaredy cat".
San frowns, hitting him back. "You're the one who told us to forget about it, Why are we still here then!"
"Alright alright, let's just focus on the task at hand" Yunho stops the pair from fighting, they wanted to get this over and done with and arguing is only wasting their time.
"I don't think going back to them will be helpful, something tells me they won't budge even if we threaten them". Yunho says, this little task must be difficult for a reason, there's something bigger hiding.
Wooyoung scoffs. "What could they be hiding, all they're doing is growing their crop somewhere else and selling it- the more I think of it the more boring it sounds".
"No, I think Yunho is onto something," San says. "There must be a reason why everyone is talking about it and wants to buy it. Either where they're growing it or what spells they're using, or if they're lacing the crops with something. Something feels fishy about those people" Especially that Jongho guy San thinks. Maybe there was something in that apple he tried that got him acting like a fool the other day.
"Yeah right. Let's just pretend it's something like that, make it more interesting. Good idea" Wooyoung ignores the other two's suggestions, finding it crazy to believe that this task would be hiding something big.
San rolls his eyes "whatever, what are we going to do now?" They stand in silence for a while, each thinking of ways to complete their mission.
Yunho breaks the silence. "Since we can't go up to them and ask for the secret foods since they know us, how about we just get someone else to buy it for us?"
Everyone nods, it's the only thing they can do at this point. "Great," Wooyoung says, pushing Yunho out into the crowd. "Go find someone then".
The taller frowns, "why are you making me do all the work?"
"It was your idea, you'd know how to do it best" Wooyoung simply says then rolls his eyes when Yunho doesn't move. "We'll still be with you, you just do all the talking".
Eventually, Yunho sighs and walks into the crowd, Wooyoung and San following closely after. They don't have any criteria for the person they're looking for, they can just choose anyone random to help them, so it's not long before Yunho is approaching a man.
"Excuse me?" the man looks up from the stalls where he is browsing. "Would you be able to do us a favour?" Yunho uses his 'secret weapon' (named by Wooyoung) and displays his best puppy eyes.
"What kind of favour" The man says, tentatively looking at San and Wooyoung behind him, clearly sceptical of San and Yunho's blue marks and Wooyoung's hidden marks.
"You would just need to buy something for us, I'll give you the money to pay for it, and extra as a thank you and apology for bothering you" Yunho watches as the man subtly raises his eyebrows at the sound of being paid.
"Fine, what do I need to get you?"
Yunho smiles in relief, he can hear San and Wooyoung high fiving behind him too. "Do you know the Choi family's stall down the left road over there?"
The man hums in recognition. "You want the secret crop they're selling huh? I didn't know word spread to the blues too unless... are you spies or something like that?" He seems to hesitate, not wanting to be a part of this.
Yunho quickly shakes his head, smiling. "No nothing like that! We just heard about it and are curious, no one else knows".
He looks at San and Wooyoung again then back to Yunho, sighing. "Okay, I'll get it for you".
They all head to the stall, Yunho sighing in relief since for a second there it seemed like the man was going to back out. Wooyoung pats his butt as a 'well done' gesture.
When they get nearer, the three of them hide close by and watch as the man talks to Jongho. San watches carefully, examining Jongho's facial expressions.
Wooyoung smacks his butt. "you're staring a little hard there lover boy"
"I'm just checking his expressions to see anything suspicious". San scoffs, pushing Wooyoung's shoulder and Yunho snickers, earning a glare from San, who is regretfully too far to push the taller too.
The three of them are too busy bickering to notice the man coming back to them so soon and for some reason, empty handed.
"sorry boys, they're sold out" the man says.
They apologise for wasting his time and thank him by paying anyway. When he's gone, Wooyoung lets out a frustrated groan. "what are we going to do now?" he whines, they actually had a good plan but now they're back to square one.
"Hey, this wasn't a complete failure" Yunho says, pointing to the stall. "We've basically confirmed that it is those guys selling the illegal food, so all we need to do now is find out where they're growing it".
Wooyoung sighs, that's right. At least they're not completely back to square one, but he wants to just finish this job so badly. It's taking too much time, he just wants to mess around again but first, he has to prove his father wrong. "Alright, what the hell are we supposed to do?"
For the second time in an hour, they are coming up with plans. This time, San gasps "I know".
The other two look at San, waiting for him to tell them what he's thinking. But the other is too busy laughing at himself, muttering things like. How am I this smart? and what would they do without me? it's all done. I've got it.
Wooyoung grabs his shoulders and shakes San. "Hello? arent you going to tell us your master plan?"
San chuckles, seemingly impressed by his own intelligence. "This plan is foolproof, get ready to tell your father you've succeeded my dear friend."
"What? What is it" Wooyoung is getting impatient.
"If they're sold out, they obviously have to restock right?"
"Yes, duh" Wooyoung says, gesturing for him to carry on.
"So, instead of waiting around for them to restock and do the same thing as today and get someone to buy it for us. We should follow them, and see where they get it from! Because if we do the same thing as today we still won't know where they got it from". San explains his plan proudly.
Wooyoung scoffs, trying not to smile, it's actually a great idea. "Yeah, good plan I guess".
"Well I doubt they'll restock today so let's call it a day and come back tomorrow and keep an eye on those two" Yunho pats San's head, the other preening at the subtle praise.
~
The next day, Yunho and San reluctantly go into the village market. They know the way to Jongho and Mingi's stall by heart now.
"I can't believe that little brat is making us go follow them while he stays at home" San complains. The weather is too cold to be out.
Yunho laughs. "I know right, I have no idea if he was lying to us or if his father is actually making him go to training for the whole day".
"Lies. It's all lies I'm telling you" Sam says. "This is supposed to be his task and we're doing all the work! At this point, we've finished training to be king"
The taller pats his shoulder, "come on, let's just get this over and done with okay? Then we can teach Wooyoung a lesson." There's nothing else they can do now since they're already here.
They camp out close but not too close to the stall, earning a perfect view of the pair. They use a spell to hear what they say for a more thorough investigation.
The day goes by as Yunho and San watch and listen to absolutely nothing. All they've been doing is selling their products and bickering, the sun is about to set which means it's almost time to close the stall.
"Well that was a complete failure" San is exhausted. One would think sitting all day and watching someone would be a piece of cake.
"Yeah, they didn't say anything about restocking. All they did was argue." Yunho says, equally as disappointed.
"How annoying" San tuts, as if he and his friends don't do the same thing all day. They get up, wincing from the soreness of sitting all day. "Let's go, I'm hungry".
"Wait" Yunho stops him, "what if they're going to restock now? It makes sense doesn't it? They wouldn't leave the stall in the middle of the day, what if they're going now to do it?"
San watches the two pack their things as the other people, who he assumes are Jongho's parents, close the stall. "You might be right, ok. Let's follow them and see where they're going".
After waiting for a safe distance, San and Yunho walk behind them, far enough not to look suspicious and catch their attention. They are led out of the market and into the village where the houses are.
San looks around, fascinated at the place. He mostly just goes to the market and not the actual village part even though he loves the atmosphere of it. It was always bustling with people unlike where he lives, people are always just in their homes or talking in hushed voices outside so they don't disturb anyone.
At first, he didn't like the village, but Wooyoung loves it and wherever he went, San and Yunho went too. Eventually, he got used to it and even finds himself missing the liveliness whenever he's alone in his big and empty room.
They hid in a little alleyway as the pair in front of them stop at a house. "This is it" San says, this is probably the house of whoever they're getting their crop from.
They watch as Mingi goes inside, waving at Jongho before shutting the door. San frowns when Jongho walks away out of their sight.
"Are you telling me we just followed them just to watch Choi Jongho drop his friend home" San groans, dragging his back down the wall and crouching.
Yunho pats his head "it's okay San, let's just go home" They are both tired and hungry but have a long way to go home so Yunho just teleports them. Neither like teleporting, it requires a lot of concentration and Yunho finds himself always getting a headache after it, but there are some times like now when they'd rather deal with that than walk a long way.
The next day, Yunho drags a complaining San back into the village for another day of trying to catch Jongho and Mingi. Unfortunately like yesterday, neither do anything to even hint that they're going to restock the crop. They even follow them home again but nothing happens. Even with the hearing spell, they don't mention anything that relates to the illegal crop that they're selling. Apart from the times customers show up to ask for them, but they just reply with a "sorry, we're sold out".
By the third day, Yunho almost goes alone. The detective in him is eager to carry on but San gets bored easily. "Forget it! They're not going to restock, let's just tell Wooyoung that they've stopped selling it". San whines, not wanting to spend another day bored out his mind.
"Ok, just one more day San!" Yunho has a plan. "How about we go follow them at closing time? As we said before, they won't restock in the middle of the day, let's just follow them when they're done for the day". He gives San his best puppy eyes.
"But we already did that, all they do is go home!" San looks away, trying not to fall for the eyes.
"Ok, just one more time please San! You never know, they might go today. You know how my luck is" Yunho says, raising his eyebrows with a big smile.
San groans, knowing he can't ever resist Yunho and his puppy-like charms. "Fine. But only today. Why do you have to be so cute".
They spend their day doing whatever they want, playing with Wooyoung who manages to sneak himself out of doing his task every single time. Today, like all the other days, they try to drag Wooyoung along with them but he manages again to get himself out of it, especially after hearing that there was nothing found all day.
When the sunset edges closer, the two make their way to the market for what seems like the millionth time.
They make it just in time to see Jongho and Mingi do their usual goodbyes and leave the stall. Yunho almost forgets to cast the hearing spell and when he does, the pair catch something they haven't heard before.
"Did you hear that?" Yunho says, unsure if he heard right.
"Yeah... Yeosang right?" San asks and Yunho nods. They haven't heard that name before.
They had missed the beginning of what they were saying but only caught the name. Even if it means nothing, San and Yunho still follow them, suddenly motivated since they finally have something new.
~
"You ask this every time and my answer will always be the same. N. O." Jongho says, dragging the big wheelbarrow they always take when going to Yeosang's home.
"Just this once Jongho, please! You're strong!" Mingi has always wanted to sit on it while someone else pulled him, it seems so fun.
"Hyung. diamonds are only slightly stronger than the other marks, I don't have super strength or anything, do you know how tall you are!" Mingi always makes Jongho out to be a hulk even though he knows that's not how marks work of course, but he always has fun testing how far his strength can really go.
The walk to Yeosang's house isn't too far but with the wagon and Mingi's incessant chatting, Jongho gets tired easily. He doesn't want to admit that he doesn't mind though, being in Mingi's company is always a good time.
"Yeosang hung were here!" Jongho shouts at the closed door, not bothering to knock.
Yeosang opens the door with a smile "long time no see".
Mingi waves happily. "Sorry Yeosang, we've been so busy the past few days we couldn't come".
Yeosang shrugs. "It's okay. You're here now aren't you?"
They all head to the garden and Yeosang goes straight into harvesting his crop for them. "So, anything interesting happen this week?"
Mingi looks at Jongho, raising his eyebrows in question. Yeosang looks up at them when no one responds and gives them a look of confusion when he sees Mingi's expression.
"Well, you see..." Mingi starts, taking a deep breath. "Some blue marked came to our stall and started interrogating is about your crop and how we're growing it" he says it really quickly so it takes a few seconds to register in Yeosang's head.
"Don't worry! We didn't tell them about you of course, we said it's from Jongho's garden and even got them to taste and compare but it obviously doesn't taste the same so I don't think they believed us." Mingi says after seeing Yeosang's unreadable expression.
"They haven't come back yet but we're still worried because one of them had purple marks. It probably means the council know about us, they've probably been sent to spy on us. We should have been more careful." Jongho adds with a gloomy face.
"We're sorry Yeosang, I didn't think they would find out. We didn't mention you at all so you should be safe, I think we should lessen the amount we sell for now so fewer people know about it". Mingi says, unable to meet Yeosang's eyes.
"It's okay guys, we all knew this could happen, I appreciate you guys for not mentioning me but what about both of you? What happens now?" Yeosang doesn't want them to feel guilty, not liking the sad looks on their faces.
"I'm sure they'll come back to us. I have no idea what they'll say to us but since what we're doing is technically illegal, we just have to hope these people aren't actually spies for the council". Jongho says. "We'll be extra careful from now on, only selling it to a limited amount of people."
They all nod, it's the only thing they can do right now. Wait for the enemy to make the nest move.
~
San watches from behind a tree at the pair conversing with this so-called 'Yeosang'. They've listened to their conversation with the help of his spell and San is proud to say that they've caught them.
San smirks "Choi Jongho, you're going down".
When he and Mingi had gone a different way from their usual trip, San almost gave them away by yelling in celebration.
They became more intrigued after following them way out of the village, past their kingdom's territory, surprised that there was a little house there.
"Why is he hiding his marks from them? They sound like good friends" Yunho says, and San hums in agreement wondering the same thing.
They can't see them very well but they can definitely see that this Yeosang guy is covering his marks for some reason. "Do you think he can see us?" San whispers.
"I doubt it" Yunho says, unconsciously hiding further behind the tree.
When the pair say their goodbyes and depart with a wheelbarrow full of crops, they've seen everything they needed to see.
They decide to refrain from stopping them there and then, caught in the act. Although San would have loved to see the look on Jongho's face if he suddenly appeared. Instead, they'll make Wooyoung do it since this is his task and they've done the hard part.
San and Yunho celebrate with a high five, looking forward to finally getting this over and done with.
~
"Hey, you cant keep slacking off like this" San prods Wooyoung who is sitting comfortably on his swinging chair.
"You two just do it, I'm so tired from all the training I've been dragged to" He whines, not wanting to move out of his comfortable position.
"Wooyoung, there's only a few days left until your week is up, you've made us do all the work. We're almost done, just come with us to finally end this" Yunho tries to reason with him.
"Okay okay fine" Wooyoung feels bad for making them do all the work and since this task is finally over, he decided to just get up. The other two just stare at him dumbfoundedly. "What? come on, let's go".
"Now" San raises his eyebrows in confusion. "But it's the middle of the day, what if this person has a job or something, I'm sure their home is empty right now". He explains, it would be a waste of time to just go and wait till they come home".
"We'll stop by the market or something and who cares if they're not home, we'll just wait". Wooyoung walks away, not giving any time for San or Yunho to respond. The pair just sigh in defeat and follow him while wondering why they're friends.
Their trip isn't as fun as it usually is. Normally, they go to the market once in a while so every time they go, there's always something new and fascinating. Now that they've been going almost every day, all three of them get bored after looking at one stall.
"Shall we just go to the culprits home now? Yohan did you say?" Wooyoung figures they might as well just get it over and done with rather than wasting time over here.
"It was Yeosang I think- what if he's not home?" San says.
"Who cares, let's just go" Wooyoung rushes them out of the market.
They walk through the village, the walk being longer than Wooyoung expected. When they get to the end and head to the outskirts of the kingdom he stops them. "Wait, where are we going?" They had gone past all the homes of the villagers so the prince gets confused when they start walking into an empty field.
"Just see," Yunho points at the forest "look over there, can you see that little house? that's where we're going"
It's difficult to see from far away but when he squits, he's able to make out the outline of a small house. "why does this person live all the way there?" Wooyoung mutters, legs aching from walking too much.
After what felt like ages, they make it to their target home. The three of them stand in front of the closed gate in silence for a few moments, before Wooyoung is pushing it, checking to see if it is locked.
When it opens easily, he lets out a small noise of triumph and walks in, heading to the front door while Yunho and San follow after him hurriedly.
The pair don't expect Wooyoung to start banging on the owner's door roughly, both widening their eyes in surprise.
"Wooyoung!" San grabs his arms to stop him from knocking like a barbarian. The door looks one karate chop away from breaking.
"HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE? COME OUT" Wooyoung ignores San's pleas and calls out for this Yeosang guy, he's going to finish so he can finally tell his father that he, in fact, is able to do a simple task like this, which wasn't exactly simple to be honest, and, he didn't really contribute.
Anyway, he enjoys the panicked look on San's face. Wooyoung always thinks he's too polite, sometimes you need to shout at people to get them to do what you want.
Fortunately in this case, it works as the door in front of them opens, revealing a young man.
Said man doesn't seem too happy with the savage knocking on his door, as he is looking at all of them with furrowed eyebrows.
Wooyoung stares at his face, his heart beating a little faster. This guy is hot. Is the first thing he thinks.
