Chapter 5
Chapter 5
●●●
Explaining to Hobi (and his other two roommates) who Jungkook was was annoying. While Jiwoon and Hyunwoo were a bit worried, but something along the lines of 'As long as he isn't in our room, alright' Hobi's response was quite a bit more intense.
Of course Hobi was worried. The news were quite dramatic after all. Even though there weren't many of Jungkook's kind it felt like they were constantly on the news, doing bad things and endangering the lives of humans.
Even so Jimin managed to calm Hobi down by showing him some of the chats he had had with Jungkook. Even Hobi should be able to tell that Jungkook wasn't exactly dangerous when he read the chats of Jungkook complaining about lukewarm tap water being the worst.
"I wanna get to know him." Hobi stated after a while. "If you really like him as much as you say I really wanna get to know him."
Their first hour of them meeting went alright. Hobi and Jungkook were being really awkward though. Jungkook because he was being judged by Jimin's best friend and Hobi because Jungkook was not human.
But things quickly changed when Jungkook mentioned that he and Taehyung hadn't ever gotten the chance to be on a dance team but had actually tried learning some dances from the internet. Jimin could just tell that Hobi was sold after that, going on for more than half an hour about the different ways to learn dancing and mistakes that could easily happen when you didn't learn with a group.
By the end of the evening all the tension seemed to have vanished with Hobi treating Jungkook almost like an old friend he had known for years. Jimin was glad. He knew Hobi was going to freak out when he would finally tell him about his crush on Jungkook though.
Probably a more positive kind of freak out though in comparison to before. Jimin wondered if dating in between species even was a thing for Jungkook. Maybe he didn't even stand a chance to begin with.
"Can I sit with you?" Jimin heard a surprisingly familiar voice when he least expected it. Sure, it made sense that Jungkook was here too, after all they did go too the same school, but for some reason he hadn't really considered Jungkook also eating at the cafeteria as a possibility.
The two people sitting opposite of him, both classmates, just stared at the person standing behind him.
"Of course." Jimin smiled, inching a bit to the side for Jungkook to take a seat on the bench next to him. When he turned back to his classmates, who had just been gossiping about this and that happily before, the only thing he found was silence and fear in their eyes.
Jihye, who usually never actually stopped talking, just sat there, staring at Jungkook before turning to Jimin, eyeing him in disbelieve.
Jimin didn't plan on explaining his actions. Why should he have to explain why he let a friend sit with him in the first place, so instead he just focused on Jungkook asking him about his day.
Not even a minute had passed when Jihye muttered something about feeling sick and going to the infirmary and then Youngjin followed her, not even explaining himself, just leaving... and they were sitting alone at the table. Jimin sighed, following them with his eyes.
"It's kind of ridiculous, isn't it?"
"It's normal. I'm still surprised you're so chill with it." Jungkook admitted, looking down at his lunch tray. "If they are going to leave, wanna sit with us instead? At least I can promise you that my friends won't run away... they are way too curious about you." Jungkook offered and Jimin glanced around.
"Where do they sit?"
"We're in the next room. That's probably why we haven't seen each other before this. Wanna go?" Jimin really appreciated that Jungkook simply put it out there like a suggestion and didn't make him feel like he had to do it. Not that he didn't want to meet Jungkook's friends.
"Sure."
Jimin still wasn't used to Jungkook's purple eyes and now there were three pairs of eyes of that color directed at him. Well, actually just two. Jungkook had his arm slung around him, hinting at him to move closer to the table.
The guy who caught Jimin's eye first was ash blond, with bangs that almost covered his eyes, his face an odd mix between feminine and masculine. He was really attractive, just like Jungkook. The second guy had shorter, blond hair that was softly swept back, his face masculine, but his lips almost as big as Jimin's... and Jimin was aware of how plush his lips were.
For a moment he wondered whether being attractive was just another part of being one of Jungkook's kind or if all of them being this beautiful was just a coincidence.
"Jimin, this is Taehyung." Jungkook pointed at the ash blond guy, who awkwardly lifted his hand, waving at Jimin, who decided that he liked him already, before pointing at the other guy. "And that is Seokjin, but we just call him Jin." Jin nodded politely and Jimin was very close to just bowing.
"Come sit with us." Jin offered, moving to the other side of the table to make space for both Jungkook and Jimin. They sat down and Jimin was glad to sit next to Jungkook, since he did tend to get a bit nervous when meeting new people.
"So you're Jimin." Taehyung asked, his voice surprisingly deep, not at all matching his face. "Jungkook talks a lot about you. And when I say a lot I mean a lot."
"Shut up." Jungkook complained from next to Jimin and Taehyung's smile got wider.
"You talk so much about him I feel like I was the one who met him, not you." Taehyung continued and Jimin couldn't help but smile when Jungkook's cheeks heated up.
"I'm glad to hear that I seem to have left such a positive impression on Jungkook." Jimin chuckled and he could practically feel Jungkook shrink next to him.
"Positive impression indeed." Taehyung grinned, leaning even closer, but Jimin was surprisingly okay with it. There seemed to be nothing but malice towards Jungkook in his movements. "You should hear him. Everything you say or mention, he'll repeatedly tell us like three times once he comes back."
"No I don't." Jungkook tried weakly, but Jimin decided to believe Taehyung instead. Because the thought of Jungkook talking about him made him happy.
"You totally do." Snorted Jin from the other side of the table and Jungkook just gave up, dropping his head on the table. Almost out of reflex Jimin brought his hand up to rub the nape of Jungkook's neck during his moments of being dramatic as he continued listening to Taehyung.
"I was a bit sceptical at first because Jungkook is very... sweet, good natured and sadly a bit naive at times, but I'm not that worried anymore." Taehyung stated, watching as Jimin's hands ran through Jungkook's hair.
"So please take good care of him and don't hurt our baby... or we'll eat you." Taehyung joked, just for Jungkook's head to snap up while Jin laughed a bit awkwardly.
After a long, awkward silence Taehyung rolled his eyes at the other two's worried reaction. "He's not stupid. He'll get it's a joke."
Jimin felt relief washing over him. "Honestly, I think I would have understood it was a joke if the other two hadn't reacted that worriedly." he mused and Taehyung groaned and nodded.
"It sucks that I can't even make a joke without people worrying that it might be true. I know Jungkook told you already, but we really don't eat people." he sighed and Jimin nodded, slightly amused at how tense Jungkook still was.
"Stop worrying I'll run away." he muttered, scratching him behind his ear, and he finally seemed to relax again.
"You totally have him wrapped around your finger, don't you?" Taehyung chuckled, supporting himself on his elbow.
"Well, I do hope so." For some reason he was sure Taehyung got the message behind that.
