Chapter 4

Sky jumped while a giant smile appeared on her face as she pointed at the fluffy unicorn socks that were hanging on a rack nearby.

Sky, Sarah, and I decided to go to the mall today. Since we had a long and hard week, we needed a break from school and everyone else. A trip to the mall seemed to be the perfect solution at this point.

"Guys! Look. I. NEED. THAT," Skylar screamed, shoving the socks right in our faces. Sarah and I both laughed, trying to move out of the way.

"You should get it, Sky," Sarah said while laughing. I nodded my head.

"You don't have to tell me twice," she said, throwing it right inside the cart.

Before we even had the chance to move on, she spotted another fluffy thing and immediately ran to it.

Sarah and I watched her jump up and down once again, squealing at how cute it looked.

"She's something, isn't she?" I said. Sarah nodded her head while giggling.

"She sometimes scares me, though," She said. "Especially after what happened with Isaac,"

I was reminded of the chaos that happened yesterday.

The way they both stared into each other's eyes, and I could feel their rage; in fact, everyone can feel it.

"I asked you, who the fuck are you?" she raised her eyebrow.

"What is your problem... midget," he grinned.

"shit," Nathan cursed under his breath. I looked over at him, mouthed what?

"She hates it when someone calls her midget," he whispered.

Skylar's nose flared up, and she looked like she was about to burst any second; and I almost stood up to tell her to leave it alone, but Nathan gave me a look telling me to stay put.

"What did you just call me?" she asked, moving closer to him and standing directly in front of him.

"What? No one called you a midget?" he grinned once again, crossing his arm. "cuz that's clearly what you are," he chuckled, once again looking at her up and down.

Without a second thought, Sky connected her fist right in his jaw.

If no one was staring before everyone was now. All our mouths fell open.

Isaac stumbles back, not expecting her to punch him. He whipped his head to look back at her, and she swung around to hit him again, but he caught her hand quickly and twisted it. She squealed in pain, and we all got up to stop him.

"You fucking bitch," he yelled.

"Let me go, asshole," she yelled right back.

"Hurts, doesn't it," he said, twisting her hand harder.

"Let my sister go, you fucking piece of shit," Nathan came to her defence, ready to give Isaac another round of punches, but before he could, Luke stepped in front of him.

"Let her go, Isaac," Luke said.

Skylar kept trying to kick him, but he held her so firmly that she was busy trying to release her hand that she couldn't do anything.

"Don't ever touch me again," he said, finally letting her go with a slight push that Skyler stumbled back a bit, but I quickly held her before she had the chance to fall. She grabbed her wrist, rubbing it as Nathan, Sarah and I came to check up on her.

"What's going on here?" We looked up to see the new math teacher make his way over to us with a stern look plastered all over his face.

"I'll tell you what's going on this fucking asshole literally almost broke my wrist," Skyler said, walking up to him.

We all followed her.

"Shut the fuck up. You're the one that almost broke my jaw,"

"You deserved it prick,"

"And you deserve much worse bitch"

"Ohh, I'm going to kill you,"

"Oh ya, I love to see you try,"

"ENOUGH," the teacher yelled, making them both stop their bickering. "Watch your language, and you both get detention,"

"But-" sky started.

"I don't want to hear it, Miss. Davis," he said before walking right out.

"Whatever," Isaac said before walking away with Luke right behind him.

"I want to punch him in the groin. What kind of idiot is he," she began yelling.

"Calm down, Sky," Nathan said.

"Don't tell me to calm down!" She yelled.

"It's okay, Sky. Isaac has always been like that. It's just better to ignore him,"

"Ugg, I want to punch him again, preferably on his mouth next time,"

Skyler was so angry that day that she needed to be able to relax today.

She kept complaining and yelling about how much she hated him. And how much she just wanted to keep punching him.

Bringing her and her getting excited over fluffy items is the only reason she hasn't thought about him right now, and we wanted her to be less angry for a while, even if it's just for a short time.

-

The flowers were finally starting to bloom, and the weather has been warmer.

Spring began later than expected, but it's still a nice change.

With the weather changing, it feels like it's also time to make changes in my life.

With no letter from Princeton University, I decided to apply to more colleges. However, I did get my admission letter from various others once I didn't want to go to the other.

I scrolled my internet browser, looking through many colleges and the programs they offered for both writing and doctor.

I haven't yet told my parents I wanted to go to school for writing, and frankly, I was too afraid to say to them. The last thing I wanted was to disappoint them.

I had hoped if I got my letter to Princeton, I would tell them, but that hasn't arrived yet, so now it's just a matter of waiting. For either my acceptance letter or my rejection one.

I continue scrolling, biting my nails when my phone binged. I picked up my phone to see a message from Tyler.

Look out your window

That was all it said. I stared at my phone, confused and then at my window. I slowly got off my bed, moving closer to the window to see Tyler in Liam's room with his phone in his hand.

He gestured to me to lift my window, and I did. I shrugged my shoulder, and he gestured to my phone, telling me to pick it up.

I rolled my eyes and picked it up. Before I could mutter one word, Tyler, on the other line, said, "come over." I stared at him, confused and asked, "why?"

"I have a surprise,"

I hadn't even realized that Tyler was back from school, and he didn't even give me a chance to say anything else before hanging up the phone and closing the window.

I took a deep breath and wondered what was so urgent that he couldn't even tell me over the phone.

I quickly grabbed my hoodie and made my way over to his house. I stood in front of the porch thought about walking right in but decided to be polite and raised my fist to knock. But before I even had the chance to knock, the door flung open, and an excited Tyler grabbed my arm and rushed me right inside.

"Ty, what's going on??" I asked.

"Hold on! You're going to see," he said, dragging me all the way upstairs and right inside his room.

"What is I-" I opened my mouth to ask him what he was so excited about, but when I entered his room, seeing who was standing right in front of me made my jaw drop almost hit the floor.

I looked over at Ty to make sure I was seeing who I was seeing. Ty smiled at me, nodding his head eagerly.

A wide smile spread across my cheeks, and the once shocked expression turned right into excitement and joy.

"Cassian!" I yelled, running right toward him and jumping in his arm. He picked me up and spun me around.

"I missed you, Cas," I said, still embraced in his arms.

"I missed you too sunshine," he placed me down but still held me in a tight hug. "So damn much," he pulled me closer to him.

"Hey, don't forget me," Ty said, wrapping his arms around us, causing us to laugh.

"Uh, Ty, this was kind of our moment," Cas said with a smirk.

"Well, I wanted to be part of it too,"

I giggled, pulling Ty closer.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Someone asked.

I immediately got out of their hold and turned my head to see a tired Liam standing in the doorway.

He locked his eyes with mine giving me a charming grin before he noticed Cas beside me.

"Cas?" He asked, confused.

"It's good to see you, brother," Cassian went up to him, giving him a high five.

"When did you get back?" He asked the question I was wondering about but was caught up in the moment and completely forgot.

"Last week. My dad transferred back here, and I'm starting college at Newtown next year. Until then, I'm going to work with my dad for a bit," he said.

Liam nodded his head.

"Wait, so you'll be here for the rest of the year?" I asked, almost jumping for joy.

He chuckled and said: "that's right, Sunshine, you won't be getting rid of me anytime soon,"

"I don't think I ever want to get rid of you, weirdo," I said, punching him in the arm slightly.

"Ouch," he cried, placing his arm over where I had punched him. "That hurt," he whined.

"Oh please, I barely even touched you,"

"Ya, you did. There's probably a bruise," he said, rubbing his arm.

"Stop, you're going to get one if you do that," I said, leaning to move his hand away from his arm, but before I even had the chance to touch him, Liam grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him.

I had completely forgotten he was still there, and I immediately tried to get away from him. The sudden butterflies at once erupted in my stomach, and being this close to him all the sudden made me weak.

"What-" before Cas could ask anything, Liam pulled me out of Tyler's room and into his own and slammed his door shut.
