"Did you hand in the slip for the end of the year trip?" Sarah asked.

I nodded my head. "Ya, I did this morning,"

"But who goes camping as an end-of-the-year trip? It's going to be so annoying," Skyler said as she leaned back in her chair.

Every year the seniors go on a four-day-long trip somewhere. Usually, it's something like a lodge or a hotel.

But this year we were camping.

I hate camping. I hate everything about it, but everyone wanted to go.

And for the experience, my parents also suggested I did go. So I had no choice but to say yes.

"I agree!" I told her.

"Come on; it's not all that bad. I love camping," Sarah said.

"I don't, " Skyler rolled her eyes.

"I don't either," I agreed with her.

"Oh my gosh, guys. We will have fun, I promise," Sarah asserted.

"If you say so," Sky said.

"Okay, everyone turn to page 52," the teacher said as he walked inside the classroom.

We all turned out pages.

"Does it kill you guys to be on time?" The teacher questioned, and I looked up to see Liam, Luke, Isaac and Reece walking in.

The event of last night of how he had walked right out.

How I spend the rest of the night crying because I had no idea what else to do.

It pains to know that whatever happened last night meant nothing to him. It never will.

To make matters worse, I had hurt Cassian. I didn't know what to say to him. I tried reaching out all day today. I texted him a couple of times, but still, he hadn't answered.

I felt terrible.

"We were showing direction," Isaac said, and the teacher-directed his attention towards Reece, who is standing there with a bored expression.

"You must be Reece King?" He asked.

"Yes, sir," he said.

He scanned the classroom.

"You can go ahead and take a seat beside Storm. She'll let you know what to do," he said, pointing over at me.

He nodded his head and walked to sit at the empty seat next to me.

"And as for you three next time detention. Now take your seat," he said, and they all took their seat.

To make matters worse, Liam, Luke and Isaac all sat behind Sarah, Sky and me.

I moved closer to Reece, connecting our desks to see the lesson since he didn't have a textbook yet.

"How has your day been?" I whispered to him. Curious to know his first day had gone.

"Good. I like it so far," he said.

I smiled at him. "I didn't know you were friends with them," I gestured towards the guys.

"Ya, I've known them for a while. I just didn't know my dad was dating Liam's mom," he said.

I nodded my head.

"Okay, everyone, you have a group project that needs to be done before the end of the year trip. I want you in groups of 4 with the people beside and behind you,"

My heart dropped. I turned my head to see Liam looking as if he hasn't even been paying attention to anything. 

Sky was looking at me with a scowl on her face.

"Oh, and Reece, you can pair up with Storm's group. I'm only allowing this group to be 5," the teacher said. I smiled at Reece.

At least he and Sky would be there. I remembered the time Liam and I had been paired up for an English project.

I had missed so many days to present that project, and I had to beg the teacher to let me do it by myself. She had been so harsh about the whole situation, but she did let me go alone.

But not before deducting 10% of my final grade. For not following instructions and late submission.

I was furious while it wasn't my fault at all, but I took it not being able to do anything.

I just didn't know what to do this time. Working with Liam is impossible.

But I had to deal with it once more. But not just him but Issac as well.

"Do you guys want my number?" Reece asked.

I pulled myself back to reality. "What?" I asked, stunned.

He chuckled. "I mean for the assignment,"

I wanted to slap myself. Idiot.

"Oh right, sorry. Yeah,"

He laughed again and grabbed my phone from my desk, and began typing his number in it. Sky handed hers as well.

"Here, " he placed it back on my desk. I smiled at him. "Stone? Brown? You coming?" He veered around to look at Liam, who was looking right back at us.

I glanced at Sky, who brought her chair and sat next to me.

"I'm not fucking working with her, " he eyed me. He said it so calmly like he hadn't even insulted me.

"Well, your not. Your working with all 3 of us, " Reece shot back.

Liam rolled his eyes, clearly getting annoyed with him.

"Liam, if you don't participate in this assignment, you will be sure to fail, " the teacher who seemed to have heard Liam's disapproval told him. "That goes for you as well, Mr. Brown," he glanced at Isaac.

Issac looked more annoyed than Liam.

Liam didn't even glance up at him. "I'm not working with her, "

The teacher looked at me. "It's not a request, Mr. Stone. You either work with her, or you fail, and you miss the trip," he said before walking away.

Liam took a long sigh, angered by the whole situation. But dragged his desk to ours with Issac doing the same. "Let's get this over with, " he mumbled.

"You can't do this in one day, " I said.

He didn't say anything back, only glared at me for few seconds before focusing his attention on his phone.

Trust me; I'm not thrilled about working with you either.

"I'm dropping out!" Skyler said, annoyed.

We turned out attention to her.

"Well, if you want dad to kill you, then go right ahead," Nathan rolled his eyes.

"Well, it will be worth it. I can't do an assignment with that low-class son of a bitch," she said. "I just can't understand why Storm and I couldn't do the assignment by ourselves. Now we have to deal with that psychopath and that motherfucker," she took a sip out of her drink.

"They're not even half bad its Luke that I can't stand," Nathan said.

"Is not half bad? Did you forget that he ruined my play?" Her eyes filled with rage. "I hate him, and I can't work with him,"

"We don't have a choice, Sky. We're all suffering," I said.

"Plus, we need to get this assignment done if we want to go on the trip," Sarah said.

She groaned.

"But your working with Reece. Liam and Isaac," Sarah said.

I nodded my head. "Ya, at least Reece is nice. But getting Liam and Isaac actually to do the work with us is the hard part," I said.

"Try Luke. He's even worse," Sarah said.

"Who's even worse?" Sam, who made her way to our table, questioned. She took a seat next to Nathan.

"It's nothing. We're just talking about an assignment," I told her. "Anyways, how was your first day?"

She sighed. "It's been fine, but I just miss my old school," she said. "But either than that, it's been a lot of fun,"

"Ya, I felt the same when I transferred," Nathan said. "But you'll get used to it. I mean, maybe not that soon, but your only here for a couple of months, but technically since your younger-" he paused, realizing she had been staring at him rambling. "Sorry," he whispered.

Sam giggled. "Don't be! I ramble all the time, and now I'll have someone to ramble with,"

Nathan smiled at her shyly.

I noticed Sarah shift in her seat. Her eyes are falling.

And I looked at Sky, who seemed to have noticed as well.

"What's your next class?" I asked her. She looked back at me, taking her eyes away from Nathan.

She took her schedule out and read it. "English with Mrs. Lopez. Shoot. The only thing is I have no idea where her classroom is," she said, still looking at her schedule.

"I'll walk you?" Nathan suggested.

"Really? That actually will be great! Thank you," she smiled before they both got up from the table and left.

"They do realize we still have 20 minutes till lunch is over right," Skyler said.

"I guess not," Sarah muttered.

"Are you okay, Sarah?" Sky asked.

"Ya, why? I'm fine, " her voice went slightly higher. "I'm just thinking about the assignment,"

"Well, if we manage to finish this project, we're celebrating!" I assured.

"Deal," Sky agreed. And Sarah smiled.
