Chapter 24

There were so many things happening at once, and the fact was I was super overwhelmed by it all.

This wedding preparation was a lot. I was glad to help Mrs. Stone... well Mrs. King as she will be in 2 days with all things she needed.

They were having a really small wedding in the backyard of their house. The backyard was not small in any way and gave us plenty of space to set up everything for the ceremony and the after-party.

Sam was with me, folding all the cards with names for the seating arrangements. We both sat in the living room while everyone else had another task they had been doing.

"For a small wedding, we invited so many people," she said.

"I think most of them are very close friends," I tell her.

She nods her head with a shrug. "Have you seen the bridesmaid's dress yet? Isn't it gorgeous?" She asked.

"Ya, I'm actually in love with it. But Liam was complaining about the colour cuz apparently he wears nothing that's not black or grey," I say, rolling my eyes.

Sam giggled. "But the blue is so nice,"

"That's what I said,"

She laughed again. "So, Um, did you invite Nathan to come to the wedding?" she asked a little shyly.

"No, was I supposed to?" I smirk.

"No, no, I was just wondering since we were allowed to invite friends. I just that maybe you might invite them. I mean, it's totally cool if you didn't. I was just curious-" she stopped realizing she had been rambling.

I giggle. "I'm just kidding. I invited all three of them, Nathan Sky and Sarah," I told her.

"Oh, cool. I mean, that's awesome," she blushed.

I smiled at her and continued folding the paper.

"Hey!" We turned to see Reece coming in with Liam. They both were holding the balloons that we had ordered for the wedding.

"Hi," I say.

"Can you for five fuckin sec be any less loud?" Liam complained, rolling his eyes.

"Jeez, man, you've been in a pissy mood since we left," Reece complained, setting all the balloons down.

"That's because he's mad about the suits being blue," I said.

"I'm not mad,"

"Oh ya, never mind, you're furious," I shrugged.

"And I have every right to be who the fuck chooses blue," he said, annoyed.

"What? The blue is nice," Reese chimed in.

"It is! Liam is just being difficult." I shook my head.

"Who's being difficult?" Johnathan asked, walking into the living room.

Liam and Johnathan have been getting along really well lately. He was angry about the wedding initially, but it looked like he was actually okay with it now. He's been helping us all with preparation without any complaints, which actually was nice.

His relationship with his mom is still a little awkward for us all, but I can tell he is trying to put in an effort.

"Apparently, I am." Liam rolled his eyes.

We told Johnathan that Liam hates the blue, and again like we had been telling him a thousand times, Johnathan also said it was nice.

Liam ignored us and left for us to continue all the decorations for the wedding.

I went to find him after finishing all the cards and setting up the balloon.

I found him sitting in his room on the chair, his bareback to me playing a soft tune on his guitar.

"You know you once sang to me?" I said loudly, and he turned to look at me.

"I did?" He asked, confusion in his eyes.

I remember his song. Now thinking about the song felt so bad.

I mean, it was a good song, but maybe if I heard him sing it now, I would have laughed in his face. It sounds bad, but it just didn't fit us anymore.

"Ya, it was before everything just when you told me I had actually liked me," I smiled, taking a seat on his bed across from him.

He snickers. "What was the song about?"

"Well, you kept saying you were hopeless without me," I giggled.

"Oh god, I read that song," he turned, taking a sheet of paper from his desk. "It's so horrible. I'm surprised you even let me sing this to you," he shook his head.

"I think at the moment it was perfect, but now it really was awful,"

He laughed. "Well, next time, I won't sing to you,"

"That's not fair. You have a great voice!" I exclaimed.

He rolled his chair over to me. "I don't care. I rather do other things to you anyway," he smirked.

"Why do you always have to be so-"

"Charming? Handsome? Breathtaking?" he winked.

"I was going to say dirty," he shrugged.

"Only to you, princess, only to you," he grinned.

I rolled my eyes with a smile.

"So my mom and I talked last night," he mumbled.

"Really? About what?" I asked, a little too excited.

"Nothing really. Mostly about you," he said.

"Huh?"

"She's happy that's we're together. She thinks your good for me," he laughed.

I smiled a little awkwardly. "I'm glad you and your mom talked," I said.

"Me too. I think it was good for us." he placed his guitar down. "Johnathan is good for her also,"

I was surprised to hear him say that. I can see how much he has changed his mind about the whole wedding. I am honestly, truly happy that he talked with her.

"He is. He's good for all of you," I said.

"I don't know. I'll see about that," he reached to hold my hand.

I watched him as he gently traced circles in the palms of my hand. His eyes were focused on them, and he looked so peaceful just doing that.

The more I stared at him, the deeper I realized that-

"I love you," I whispered.

I love him so much.

I always knew I did, but I was never able to admit our loud until now.

His eyes widened, and he looked up at me, a little surprised but not at all at the same time.

"I knew you do," he teased. And I slapped his bare chest. He groaned, taking my hand in his. "I love you too. More than you can imagine,"

The smile appeared on my lips again. And I leaned in to kiss him. Over and over until I couldn't anymore.

-

Sarah, Skyler, Sam and I were having a sleepover at my house since the wedding was tomorrow, and we all decided to get ready together.

And we are currently trying hairstyles on Sam's hair to match her dress tomorrow perfectly.

"So, how are things with you and Liam?" Sarah asked, grinning.

"They're good. More than good," I say shyly.

All of them smile at me. "We're so happy for you," Skyler said. "You the first one of us who's not single," she said.

"Well, I'm sure it won't be long till you guys find someone also," I told them.

"I doubt it, but I'm betting on college guys at the moment," Skyler said.

"Where are you going to find a college guy?" Sam asked.

"When I go to college, duh,"

We all laughed.

"What about you, Sarah?" Sam asked her. "Do you have anyone?"

We looked at Sarah, waiting for her to answer, but the discomfort in her eyes said she did not want to talk about it.

"Nope, I guess I two have to wait till college," she shrugged her shoulders.

"Don't worry, I bet we'll find you, someone," she said, reassuring her.

Sarah smiled at Sam, but her smile barely reached her eyes.

"So Sam, how are you liking Liam's mom?" Skyler changed the topic quickly.

"Oh my gosh, I love her. She is literally so cool and super nice, and my dad really loves her, so I'm really happy for them," she said.

"She is awesome!" I said.

She nods her head. "I'm just not excited to move in. I mean, living in one roof with just boys and Tessa seems a bit hectic," she said.

"Well, after everyone moves out for college, you'll be on your own, so it's not going to be so bad," Sarah said.

"Ya, that's the only thing I'm looking forward to," she sighed. "Where are you guys going to college? I wanted to ask earlier since I still have no clue, and mine is coming up very soon also," she said.

"Storm is going to Princeton with Liam," Skyler told her. "I got into my theatre program in Vancouver. And Sarah is going to NYU,"

"I still can't believe you're leaving us after school ends," I frowned.

"I can. I'm peacing out as soon as I can,"

"Are you not going to miss us?" Sarah asked her.

"Urg, I guess a little," she mumbled.

"You know we still have a little while till school is done, but I'm seriously going to miss you all," I said.

Thinking about how much things have changed this year, it was a weird thought that I would leave them all in a couple of months.

The idea of leaving still didn't hit me, and it might not work for a while, but I was not ready just yet to let go of this town.

This is the town where everything began and for it to end just like that hurts a little.
