Chapter 14
I wasn't planning on returning to the tent.
I just walked away to annoy him. But I should have known better than that; he was quick.
He caught up to me before I had the chance even to take another step.
He pulled me against him and wrapped his hands around my waist, and our chest collided.
"You think I'll let you leave this soon? You have no idea how long I wanted this... wanted you," he let out. "I can't even remember our first kiss, so this is something I want to remember forever so," he walked us over to a tree. My back hit against it, and I looked up at him, my lips slightly parted. "I'll control myself but fuck hell; you have no idea how hard it is,"
I smiled at him. "You know it's not a good idea. Especially here," I told him.
And if I'm being honest, I wanted him just as much. If he can control himself, I should be able to also. Right?
The thought of doing it with Liam played in my head more often than I like to admit. But I wondered whether if we did, would it be rushed?
Since we only just now after such a long time came to the place, we are right now. I wasn't even sure what to call this relationship.
"Wait, we haven't done anything but kiss, right?" He pulled himself away from me.
He, of course, doesn't know what had happened between us that day. I mean, I should tell him, but the idea of bringing it up makes me feel hot all over.
"No, um, we never..." it felt awkward to finish the sentence, but he knew exactly what I meant.
And I remembered exactly how he made me feel, and I want him to feel the same way.
What he had done that day was something so selfless, and maybe one day I'll give him the same.
"You know it kills me that I wasn't your first, and I know it's wrong, but I wanted it to be me," he admitted.
I didn't regret Noah, and I was actually glad he was my first. I was in love with him, and it felt right with him.
But somehow, whatever I feel toward Liam seemed to be beyond words at times.
It didn't matter to me that he wasn't my first. Of course, it really didn't but maybe...
I placed a hand on his cheeks and pulled him closer.
I leaned toward him and placed my lips on his.
He eased into the kiss right away, and it didn't take long for us to cling to each other and to be breathless.
He pulled away from the kiss, and he nuzzled my neck, making me giggle but right away, that giggle turned into moans after moans.
I bit my mouth, hoping to be quieter, but it wasn't working.
My hands wrapped around his hair, and he groaned. He kissed along my jaw, and his hands slipped under my shirt and onto my bareback.
But a sudden noise in the woods made us both look up at each other.
I heard quiet voices. It took me a second to realize that it was Sarah.
But I heard another voice too. It seemed to be louder, almost as if they were yelling.
"That's Luke," Liam said, moving away from me.
I was slightly disappointed when he moved away, my body lacking his body warmth.
But I put that thought behind me when my immediate thought should be about my friends.
"We probably should go check on them?" I said. "You never know what Luke might be doing here," I half-joked.
"He wouldn't do anything to her," he said, walking away.
I waited a second before following behind him. He stopped at a tree. I stopped with him spotting Luke and Sarah.
I made a step to move, but Liam held a hand out, preventing me from moving anywhere.
"I don't think it's a good idea," he says, looking out at them.
I glanced over at them, and my heart dropped.
Luke and Sarah were kissing.
He had his arms around her body while hers clung to the collar of his shirt.
It felt wrong to be even standing here.
Sarah had told me she and Luke kissed before, but she made it seem like she wasn't sure about it.
But seeing them in this position had me thinking there was more to their relationship than I thought.
We heard yelling before this.
"Let's go," Liam took hold of my arm and dragged us back to the tents.
I was still so shocked by what I had seen that I didn't even realize he had brought us all the way here.
"Why did you bring us here? I have to go back. Skyler is still there," I told him, turning to leave, but he caught my arm.
"I told you she'd be fine," he assured me with a stern tone.
I sighed, looking around. "Wait, this is not my tent,"
"No, it's not. It's mine," he told me. "I saw you bring all your book here, so I thought maybe we could read together," he suggested.
I was surprised. "You want to read?" I questioned.
I mean, that's what I planned on doing this whole trip. But he wanted to do the same?
He nods his head. "But all my books are back in my tent," I told him.
"I brought some too," he said, opening his tent and entered inside. I followed behind.
He picked up a book from his backpack and handed it to me.
"Harry Potter!" I exclaimed.
He chuckled. "I remember you used to be a potter head,"
"Who said I used to be? I still am," I laughed. "Tyler and I used to read this all the time," I said.
"I know I hated you for making him obsessed,"
"Oh, I'm pretty sure you hated me for more things than this," I say.
His eyes fell, and I realized what I had said.
"I'm sorry,"
"I don't think it's you that needs to apologize," he moved a step closer to me. But I moved away, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"Um, are you sure they are going to be fine? I'm just scared," I told him.
"Don't worry about them. I know you don't trust them, but they are safer with them than with anyone here," he assured, defending his friends once more.
I was still a little uncomfortable with the idea, but I don't think I had a choice. Sarah and Sky are strong women, if anything. I'm the one who shouldn't be overreacting and trust them both.
"Well, I guess it's Harry Potter and the philosopher stone tonight," I said, holding out the book.
He smirked, walking over to the air mattress and padded next to him for me to join him.
I was a little hesitant at first but joined him soon after.
I opened the book wide and made sure he could see. And we read.
For 20 good minutes, we only did that. Until somehow, his lips were on my neck and then my shoulders, and I dropped the book.
I turned over to him, and he kissed my lips. I pulled at his shirt, and he didn't stop me.
He pulled me on top of him, and I was sitting on his lap. My hands dragged along his bare chest, and he looked up at me.
"I know pretty great, huh?" He teased. I slapped his chest and rolled my eyes.
He laughed and kissed me again.
"You know this is weird," I said, breaking our kiss.
He raised an eyebrow. "You think?"
"Ya, I mean it's weird how this... us.." I searched for what exactly I wanted to say.
Being with Liam had, for the most part, been confusing. I never really understood what was going on with him. I still don't, but now all of this was new.
I think a big part of me was afraid of him going back to the old Liam when he used to be the cold-hearted bastard.
But right now, it didn't matter because being with him at this moment just made sense.
"We're not weird," Liam finished for me.
