Chapter Five:
Caveman's POV
I followed the other a out of the room, wiping tears out of my eyes. Seto turned around and walked back to me, gently pulling my hands away from my face.
"Hey, it's okay, Caveman. We'll find who did it and make them pay." Seto said gently. I nodded, trying to stop crying. Seto pulled on my arm, and we jogged to catch up with the others.
We entered the cafeteria, and I sat down on one of the benches. Mitch offered me a glass of water. I reached out to take it, but Ty grabbed it before I could take it.
"Ty!" I said, surprised. Ty gave the glass back to Mitch.
"Pranking Caveman with clear, incredibly minty mouthwash will totally make him feel better, Mitch." Ty said, annoyed. Mitch and Jerome stared at Ty in shock.
"What?" He snapped.
"How did you know?! That was a perfect plan!" Jerome whined.
"I could smell it." Ty said simply.
"So much for odorless..." Mitch grumbled.
I sighed and got up.
"I'm going to my room." I said flatly. I turned and left the room without another word.
Sky's POV
"I'm going to bed too." I said, following Caveman out of the room. After I was far enough away that no one could see me, I smirked, and broke into a run.
I'll go to bed...after I make another kill.
I pulled my sword out of it's sheath. It glowed with a soft golden light. The butter sword shone brighter, and the edges grew sharper. I slowed to a walk, trailing Caveman silently. He stopped. I froze, silently scolding myself for not flying. My footsteps could clearly be heard in the silence. Caveman turned around, walking back down the hall, a confused look in his eyes. When he rounded the corner, I drove the sword hilt deep into his stomach.
A shocked, pained expression crossed his face. I laughed, yanking the sword out. Caveman fell to the ground, his hands pressed against the wound. A thin line of blood dripped out of the corner of him mouth, and rolled down his cheek, dripping onto the tiled floor. He collapsed, still and silent. Blood ran out, coating the floor in shining, sticky liquid.
I turned and left the hallway quickly. When I entered my room I cleaned off the sword and my clothes, before going to sleep. I was awoken by a scream. I sat up, a smirk of satisfaction flashing across my face. I replaced it with a concerned look before running out of my room, following the screams. I entered the hall where I had murdered Caveman. Ty, Tyler, Ian, and Seto were standing there, stunned.
"Wh...what happened?!" I cried, hiding a satisfied grin. They stared in shock at the scene.
"Holy Notch!" I yelled, causing more people to come running. Some guards took the body away and cleaned up the mess. We met in the library. It was deadly silent. I noticed Ty flicking through an old book. It was the one Seto had made Jason read.
"Hey Ty, can you read that? I thought it was like a forbidden language or something." I asked slyly.
Everyone looked at Ty. Seto took the book, a surprised look on his face.
"You said you couldn't read it when I asked everyone!" he said.
Ty shook his head quickly.
"No, I can't read it. I was looking at this sketch." He pointed at a sketch on one of the pages in the book. It was of three swords, each shaded differently. One was barely shaded at all, one was shaded so darkly it was almost black, and the third was slightly shaded. I knew Ty was lying, he could read it, just like me. I had to give him credit though, it was a convincing excuse.
Everyone else accepted Ty's explanation. I made eye contact with him, showing him I didn't fall for it. Ty looked away, and started playing with his sword. He flipped it up into the air a caught it, over and over. eventually, Tyler said,
"Ty, stop. One of these times you're not going to catch it. I don't want another person to..." He trailed off. Ty gave him an exasperated look, but he stopped.
We sat there in an uncomfortable silence.
