"Nana! Come over here!"

"What is it, darling?"

"Look" I say, pointing in front of us. Several lights are shining, gleaming in the darkness of the forest. I stare at them, mesmerized. I've never gone there before...

"Get back!" Nana exclaims, pulling me away. "You're getting far too close."

"Why can't we go any closer?" I ask, looking up at her.

She walks over to stand by me, her gaze drifting to the lights as well. "We aren't allowed to go in there."

"Why, Nana?"

She bends down on her knee, looking straight at me. "That is an answer for another time." She stops, continuing a few moments later.

"All you must know, Arcaena, is that you must never go beyond those lights. You must never, ever go back. All that is there is danger and lies, and elves who would not take kindly to your presence."

I know there's more to her story, however. I can see it in her eyes.

One day, I will find out.
