Spencer nodded to my question like a freaking idiot. This is unbelievable!

And when I glance towards Parker, he immediately avoided it as he frustratingly pursed his lips. And even though I wanted to shout and ask them about everything- I can't, especially that won't come out.

A moment of silence devoured us. As if an angel suddenly crossed just to gave as a feeling of eternal peace.

Tyler roamed his eyes until it landed on mine, "Are you angry?" he asked while looking me in the eyes.

To be honest, I am not angry at all. Instead, I am befuddled that I wanted to shout at them just to squeeze them for the information about the LIVE Corporation, the project Genesis, and the apocalypse itself.

I avoided his eyes and slowly shook my head, "It's... Nevermind," I mumbled.

At the corner of my eyes, I saw Spencer along with his blissful grin; he's the only person in this room that has the guts to plaster a freaking smile. Can't that kid read the atmosphere he made?

"Mommy, galit ka?" the freaking idiot suddenly asked. I was about to utter something when he suddenly speaks again, "I'm sorry rin..."

"Bakit?"

"Kasi 'di ba sabi ko kanina, sina Tyler dapat ang humingi ng tawad sa'yo- E, dapat ako rin kasi parte rin naman ng corporation ang pamilya namin."

Tyler curiously lifted his head just to gaze towards Spencer, "What are you saying?" Tyler asked. He doesn't know? How can he be a fucking heir if he doesn't even know any part of it?!

"Investors..." Spencer truthfully said.

Cara clasped her hands as she put a lollipop on her mouth, "Bakit parang mas taga-pagmana pa si Spencer sa inyong dalawa? Hindi n'yo man lang alam na part ng LIVE Corporation ang pamilya nina Spencer."

"I'm studying in Laodicea," Parker mumbled.

"So do I," Tyler said as he shrugged.

Cara blew air out her mouth as she rolled her eyes to two gentlemen in front. And as she slammed her elbow on the table, she suddenly brooded to them, "He's also studying in that school..."

And with the connection of our lives, I felt everything was already planned. My eyes automatically search for that almond eyes, and as it landed on his, I was no longer in surprise that he was looking at me too.

"Is everything planned? W- we being together and-"

"No, Amira," Parker answered with his mellow voice. My eyes remained looking at him, and there is a part of me that feels sorry because I can the pain in his eyes, "What happened on the rooftop isn't my plan, our meeting, the confession-"

Pareparehas kaming nagulat nang suntukin ni Tyler sa tagiliran si Parker kasabay nito ang mapanuksong tingin dito, "Doc, nakaamin ka na?" tanong nito.

I see Cara smirking at them while I was puzzled about what they are talking about. Does Tyler also know Parker's confession to Ms. Esguerra?

Parker was about to speak when Tyler stopped him. I wryly smile when Tyler was acting out of his compose and relax character as he simultaneously nodded, "That's why you are able to show your affection-"

"BIG BOSS!"

Cara laughed hysterically when Parker shouted just to stop his pal from talking any more nonsense about him. But among their voices, I searched someone's voice to blend in with the topic, and when I glance at my side, I saw Chi trembling while drinking water.

"Pero seryoso kasi, hindi planado 'to," Sambit ni Parker habang malamlam na nakatingin sa akin ang mga mata n'ya.

Ngunit ang mga mata ko'y tagos tingin sa kanya. Ilang araw ko nang napapansin ang pagiging mailap ni Chi sa amin, madalas pa ay magluluto lamang siya ngunit hindi agad siya kakain kasabay kami. Madalas din sobrang tahimik n'ya samantalang nandito naman kami ni Cara upang makausap n'ya.

"We don't know that an apocalypse will happen. The only thing we know was the mechanism of Project Genesis." My eyes automatically drifted towards Parker, and his eyes were on Tyler as if he was asking for permission.

Tyler cleared his throat and sat on the chair next to Cara, and pulled his notebook out of his pocket, "Listen... There are five stages in their method," he mumbled.

The five stages he was talking about was written in his notebook, and it was labeled Expire, C-stage, B-stage, A-stage, and S-stage, "Expire means people who died in the first injection-"

"Injection of what?" I asked.

"Lycoris Radiata," Parker answered. It was the so-called equinox flower, which grows near the rivers and swamp and mostly seen in Korea, China, and Japan.

But the question is, how they discover that the equinox flower can give immortality?

"The Nakamura Clan... It was long-time research of your clan, Amira." I felt my knees weakening. This is too much for me to handle. I just discovered that these two men in front of me were the heirs of LIVE Corporation.

Alam ko sa sarili ko na malaki ang naging parte ng pamilya ko sa proyektong ito ngunit hindi ko alam na sila ang punot-dulo nito. At hindi ko matanggap na wala akong kahit isang ideya tungkol sa bagay na iyon.

"Amira, do you remember the day I chose you?" Cara asked. My mind is still blank, yet I can hear her well, "Alex discovered that your father would hand you over to LIVE Corporation just to finish their experiment."

"W-what?"

"Your family heirloom, the blood within you was compatible to the equinox flower, and it is a reason why they cherish every woman in your family."

I frustratingly bit my lower lip and trying my best not to shed a single tear. I don't want to believe her, I don't want to swallow her words, but witnessing and experiencing this shits, everything she said feels so real.

"Listen, Amira. Whatever happens, we will protect you," Tyler mumbled, assuring for the events that might happen in the future, "So, everyone should know the stages that they conducted in the tallest building in Luzon."

Spencer slowly walked towards my direction and sat next to me as he slowly held my hand and squeeze it, "People will always be blinded with money."

"Explain the stages..." Chi whispered.

Parker heaved a sigh and pointed to the C-stage, "They are test subjects who were injected three times and have lost their capacity to think. They expire if another dosage of the flower is injected. In this apocalypse, we call them Goner. They are powerless infected and can easily kill because the main target will be their nape."

"The next one is the B-stage, the infected that have abilities just like Pigmalone, and the Nighties, which Cara and Amira fought." I quizically looked to Cara, and she just shrugged. Did she tell Parker? "They took ten injections of the flower and transformed after that. The weak point varies on their class,"

He's right. It varies on what type of infected, just like the Nighties, their weak spot was their tongue, and if I am right, Pigmalone's soft spot was his stomach.

"The A-stage was this clown, infected that can transform into anything they have devoured. They claimed that ability after fifteen injections, and it is quite confusing because they might look-like a goner when they haven't eaten any other infected."

Parker suddenly paused and glanced at me first before closing the notebook. I saw Tyler glaring at him, "Finish it," he commanded to Parker.

"No."

"Just tell it!"

"This is already too much for her!"

Tyler's eyes darkened; he slammed his body in his chair and gave Parker his deadliest look, "Finish it. I'm ordering you like your boss and not as your best friend."

Parker slowly clenches his fist as his jaw slowly tightened. And when his eyes laid upon me, I know something isn't right.

"S-stage... Received the highest injection and only a single subject reach this stage. We don't know the details about its ability, but we know who it is..."

"Why are you looking at me like that, moron?" I asked, trying to shake off the tension piling up inside.

Parker frustratingly bit his lower lip as if he doesn't want to tell me about it.

"It was Alyxandria Nakamura... It was your mother, Amira."
