"Um, hello? Hello hello?" the phone said. I heard the night guard say,

"Nope. I don't need you. Mute."

Bad idea bucko. This is a new building. New rules.

I noticed there being a camera in the party room I was in, pointing at the vent I was sitting in front of. The red light on it started to flash,

"Woah what? That's a new one. How did it get here so fast?" Said the night guard.

I looked into the vent, thinking.

Hmmm... I want to help him. But... He'll be scared of me. I'll try anyways.

I began to crawl through the vent, trying to make as little noise as possible. I noticed there was a camera in vent. I stopped, just staring at it.

Why in the world did they add a camera in the vent?

Just as I was about to move on, the camera shined a light at me,

"Ow!" I shrieked while looking away, "That stings!" I began to rub my eyes and looked back at the camera,

Alright... note to self: never stare right at a camera ever again.

I pushed onwards, ignoring the fact that my eyes still burning, I finally made it to the office.

The guard had the tablet up, looking for anything strange. I got out from the vent and sat myself down behind him, hoping he won't notice me. He put the table down and checked the vents by pressing the buttons that were just in his reach,

"Weird... I could have sworn that there was a robot in the vent... where did she g-...?" The night guard stopped as he turned around slowly. He saw me sitting there like some normal person!

"Uhhhhhhh... Hi?" I said nervously.

He just stared at me in idol terror, obviously wondering whether to run or slap me in the face.

"No no. I'm no threat or anything!" I told him quickly, "I didn't mean to scare you or anything like that. I just wanted to see you, that's all..." I felt bashful saying that. I gave him a sheepish smile and said, "I'm Em- I mean Amber." I quickly remembered that I'm no longer Emily.

I am Amber the Fox, and that's all I am now.

"Ummm... Hi Amber? I'm Mike."

Mike! So it is him!

"It's very nice to meet you Mike! You new here?" I asked

"At this location, yes."

I smiled,

"That's great! I'm new here too, but I think I know how things work around here."

Mike seemed to loosen up a bit, "Ok... So, I have a question."

"Ask away."

"Are the animatronics here going to try and... Ummm..." He paused, "Stuff me into a suit?"

If I had blood, it would have ran cold.

I know the old animatronics wouldn't and Puppet wouldn't either but...

Would the new toys would?

I snapped myself back to Mike,

"Well... I know I wouldn't and the oldies wouldn't either. Not even Puppet would do such a thing! But... The Toys? I don't know if they would... I didn't even talk to them."

That made Mike nervous,

"But don't worry!" I said quickly, "Me and my friends will protect you!"

Mike looked down, thinking.

Please accept my offer. It would be a shame to see someone like you go.

He looked up at me, smiling,

"When do we start?"

Just then the 6:00 bell rang, ending the night,

"Tomorrow during your shift. We'll be waiting in your office."

Mike smiled and walked away. I smiled back at him.

This is the start of a beautiful friendship.
