twenty four.

Though everyone around him was dancing and cheering along to the music being played to them, Jimin was finding it hard to breathe.

This song was about him.

It wasn't just a conceited assumption either, he knew for a fact that the words being sung to him were written with only him in mind. He knew it for certain, because he had read them in Jungkook's scrawled handwriting just a couple of days prior.

It was honestly surreal, to be surrounded with lyrics that were an ode to him. Goosebumps rose on his arms and the hairs stood up on the back of neck, completely entranced as he stood in a crowd of people who were none the wiser.

'But I know
That you're wondering just how
far I'd go
If I'd even chase you
down at all

But I will until you
see me fall
to my knees at your feet, my darling.'

That chorus. Jimin remembered reading those words, huddling the paper close to his chest as he sat on the floor of the back room at his work - leaving all of his customers unattended. It had made his heart speed up then, but now? He felt close to cardiac arrest as the sweet smitten words rang through his ears, accompanied by a melody that he knew would be stuck in his mind for months.

Jungkook looked over at him, sweat beading up on his brow as his drumsticks crashed into the instrument below him. He mouthed along to the lyrics as Seokjin sang them, taking in every drop of Jimin's reaction as he listened to his personal serenade.

Jimin knew that he must've looked like he wasn't enjoying the set, but in reality he was just so awestruck he could barely move a muscle. He was completely captivated, stars in his eyes as fixated on Jungkook - the drummer never looking more passionate in a performance than he did right then.

'It's a late night, and I'm freezing
but you find me as I'm wheezing
from my third smoke this hour
and you shoot me with a face so sour

And just maybe, I'd quit for you
but I'd never admit that,
even if you asked me to
It's just my pride
Though you've already shifted the tide.'

Even if had never read the lyrics, Jungkook had made it abundantly clear that this song couldn't have been about anyone else. It was for him and him only, as he stood in the crowd with shaky breaths leaving his lips.

Jungkook leaned into the microphone attached to his drum set as the chorus kicked in once more, providing accompanying vocals that had a shive running down Jimin's spine. He had never heard Jungkook sing before, in all of the times he had ever heard them play. Though it was mostly overwhelmed but Seokjin's leading vocals, it was still there and Jimin still heard it.

He had never really provided background vocals before, but he chose to now on his song for Jimin. It was if he was trying to make it clear that this was his letter to raven haired male.

Jimin could barely even believe that this was a real thing that was happening, not just some dream or a scene from out of a movie.

He used to watch Jungkook from afar, hoping that by chance the drummer might give him a passing glance. Now though, he stood just a few feet away from him as he performed a song made specifically for him. It was absolutely surreal.

Taehyung and Namjoon swayed to the music beside him, completely oblivious to the dreamlike moment Jimin was experiencing beside them. He never wanted the moment to end, he wished he could stay there forever just surrounded by Jungkook's affection converted into song.

It couldn't last forever though, and soon enough the last few notes were being played, the crowd cheering with enthusiasm for the end of their first song. Jimin cheered louder than all of them.

The rest of the set was songs Jimin was already familiar with, finally snapping out of his shock as he danced in time to the beat with his two friends. He wondered if Taehyung and Namjoon had any idea that the first song had been about him, but he was pretty confident that they were a tad too tipsy to make the correlation.

But that was alright, he was okay with it being a secret between the two of them.

Jimin found himself being almost upset when their performance finally ended, loving the adrenaline he felt from dancing within a crowd along with the sight of Jungkook while at his happiest. It was alright though, because he knew that even though the show had ended that wouldn't be the last time he saw Jungkook that night.

Him and his bandmates slowly made their way out of the crowd, weaving their way in the opposite direction of everybody else as they approached the stage. Jungkook's chest was heaving from their performance, hair now matted with sweat as the beanie he was wearing lay discarded beside him. His flannel was completely unbuttoned now, the recently bared skin glistening from the perspiration.

They locked eyes, and Jimin swallowed thickly. What could he even say? He was still in so in shock that Jungkook had performed a song for him, he wasn't quite sure how to break the ice.

"You're really good!" He heard Taehyung drunkenly exclaim, hopping up to sit on the stage next to Yoongi's feet without even a hint of embarrassment in his demeanour. "What kind of bass is that?"

Jimin couldn't help but chuckle, watching as Taehyung's infectious enthusiasm took over the fellow bassist and Yoongi leaned down to strike up a conversation with him.

"So, what did you think?" Jimin startled, not even realizing Jungkook had gotten so close until the drummer's voice was ringing in his ears. He looked up to meet Jungkook's face, expectation and a hint of nervousness painted across his features.

Jimin smiled softly, reaching up and brushing a few strands of hair out of his eyes.

"I never expected you to perform that." He laughed softly. "I didn't think it was a fully fleshed out track when you gave the lyrics to me."

Jungkook gave him a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his neck and looking off to the side.

"There was a reason I wanted you to come by tonight." He smiled, before reaching down to do up the buttons on the flannel that he wore that still hung open. "So?" He continued, looking up to meet Jimin's eyes once more. "Did you like it?"

Jimin nodded enthusiastically, Jungkook grinning in relief and causing Jimin's own smile to stretch even wider.

'Like' was an understatement. It was honestly hard to put into words how he felt about the song - it had left him speechless and sent shivers up his spine. It flooded every inch of his mind, sticking to his subconscious like glue.

"I loved it." He beamed, not being able to stop himself before he was launching himself forwards and enveloping Jungkook's body in a hug. The taller male was still hot and fairy sweaty from performing but Jimin didn't care as his fingers curled into the fabric of the flannel on his back. "Really, I did. You left me speechless." His breath tickled Jungkook's ear as he spoke, his heart thudding as the drummer's arms wrapped around his body securely in return.

"I'm glad." Jungkook sighed, resting his head atop Jimin's and rubbing his hand against his back. "I've never written a song like that before, I was worried that you would think it was corny." Jimin pulled away, his arms still resting on Jungkook's shoulders as a quizzical look took over his face.

"Corny?" He laughed, Jungkook shrugging sheepishly as his hands seated on Jimin's waist. "It was beautiful, actually, and I loved hearing you sing."

Jungkook grinned, the pink tint that dusted his face even visible in the bar's ambient lighting. His thumb rubbed soft circles against Jimin's side. This was really the first time they had held each other like this; innocent, sweet touches as each of them were cradled within each other's hold. Jimin just felt so warm and his heart was fluttering as the two of them resided in their own little bubble of comfort.

"I don't do it often." Jungkook replied softly, swaying Jimin softly in his hold. "I used to, when we first started the band, but I felt like Seokjin's voice fit our sound more." He paused, Jimin watching as his eyes sparkled in the bar lights. "I wanted to for you though, I thought you might like it."

"You were right." Jimin beamed. "Got any other secret talents you aren't sharing?"

Jungkook smirked, raising an eyebrow mischievously.

"Nothing I should say out loud." He leaned down and spoke lowly. His words had that sultry undertone Jimin found himself utterly charmed by. He didn't even care that he and Jungkook were so unashamed by their public displays of affection, feeling more so smug at the fact that the drummer only had eyes for him. No one else in this bar could touch him, only Jimin's fingers allowed to grace his skin.

Just as he was about to open his mouth to reply though, their private little bubble popped.

"Jungkook!"

If it wasn't just the sickeningly sweet voice of a girl calling Jungkook's name that had alarm bells ringing in Jimin's mind, it was the way Jungkook's body immediately tensed up in his hold. He watched the drummer's lips turn down into an irritated frown, before he turned around to see who the taller male was looking at.

A girl, obviously someone Jungkook knew, approached them both with what looked to be a fruity cocktail in her hand. Her bright pink hair had obviously not been dyed in a few weeks, brown roots visible as it was pulled up into a messy up-do. A short black dressed hugged her body, knee high socks and heeled black boots completing her look.

Jimin gulped. She was really pretty.

"Hyejin." Jungkook's voice didn't sound enthusiastic, but it still irritated Jimin a little when he removed his hands from his waist to address her. "What are you doing here?"

The girl raised an eyebrow and pushed the wire framed glasses she wore up to rest atop her head.

"Uh, came to see you. Duh." She took a few steps forwards, glancing at Jimin quickly out of the corner of her eye before turning her attention back to the blue haired male. "You're really bad at answering texts, you know. Did you delete my number or something?" She brought her drink up to her lips, sipping it through a straw as she looked up at Jungkook expectantly.

Jungkook sighed softly, bringing his hands up to rub his face.

Out of all people to come see him, out of all days. Hyejin, one of his past sexual encounters (also the person who's phone call forced a wedge between the two males), just had to show up on the night he was dedicating to Jimin. What were the odds? And why was the universe trying to make him look like such a prick?

"Well even if I did, that wouldn't have stopped you from showing up now would it?" He asked, both of the people he stood with not missing the bitter tone his words were coated in. "Really, why are you here? I thought you lived in Seoul."

Hyejin rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest and causing the ice cubes in her drink to clink together.

"First of all, rude." She began, pursing her lips together. "Second of all, I'm not allowed to travel? I know other people in Busan besides you, y'know."

Jungkook huffed, reaching his arm back out and resting it on Jimin's waist. The way Hyejin eyed his movement, had them both fighting back a smirk.

"Okay, then go hang out with them, maybe?" He suggested, meeting Jimin's gaze for a moment with an apologetic look. "I'm a little busy here, though you've decided to not even acknowledge that."

For the first time Hyejin actually turned to look at Jimin head on, her eyes scrutinizing him as they darted between his face and Jungkook's hand on his hip.

"Well pardon me." She smiled, but it wasn't filled with kindness, more so irritation. "Normally I wouldn't have to fight for his attention." She cocked her head to the side. "Who might you be?"

Jimin gulped, trying his best not to shrink under her gaze. Was this Jungkook's type in women? Her eyes were seductive and accentuated with smoky black eyeliner, her cheeks sparkled with glitter, and her hair - though messy, was pin straight and vibrantly coloured. She was gorgeous and matched his aesthetic well, he could practically picture her hanging off of Jungkook's arm.

"I'm Jimin." He finally replied, straightening his back and leaning into Jungkook's hold. "I'm a friend of Jungkook's."

He heard Jungkook scoff softly, looking up to see the smirk on his face.

"Don't diminish yourself like that." He scolded half-heartedly, his fingers squeezing Jimin's waist just a little bit tighter as he looked down at the shorter male fondly. "Jimin here's my muse."

Jimin's heart skipped a beat, Jungkook's words causing goosebumps to rise on his skin. What a name to be called. 'Jungkook's muse'. It was worlds better than being called a friend or a fling, it was a title that would never leave his mind. The words just sounded so lovely leaving Jungkook's lips.

He knew he was blushing but he honestly didn't care, his face hot as he looked up at Jungkook with a smile.

"That's cute." Hyejin hummed, though her words were undoubtedly bitter. "Never knew you were such a lover boy."

Jungkook merely shrugged, pulling Jimin even closer. His body heat radiated against the shorter male's, Jimin having to suppress himself from snuggling even closer than he already was.

"Things change."
