little nighttime update <3
—
It had been three days since Jimin and Jungkook had slept together.
After meeting Yoongi, the blonde haired male left him and Jungkook alone in the younger male's apartment. This left them with the privacy for Jungkook to pull Jimin close, leave kisses against the hickeys on his neck, and comment on how sexy he looked wearing his T-shirt.
All three actions left Jimin weak in the knees, his fingers skirting across Jungkook's toned tan skin.
Sadly though, he couldn't stay forever. After a make out session that went on longer than expected, Jungkook was escorting Jimin into his car and driving him home. The only thing that softened the blow of having to leave so soon, was the fact that before he got dropped off - Jungkook gave him his phone number.
And if that wasn't a way of saying that he wanted to meet again, then Jimin didn't know what was.
"Hello? Earth to Jimin?"
So far deep in his daydreams, Jimin had honestly forgotten for a moment that he was sitting in a room with his two bandmates. On Namjoon's couch, he sat with he guitar in his lap, and he had been absentmindedly strumming the strings as he daydreamed before he was interrupted. He looked up, and Taehyung and Namjoon were both staring at him with expectant looks on their faces.
"Sorry, what?" Jimin asked, adjusting the black knit beanie that sat atop his head. He hadn't really updated his friends on what had happened with him and Jungkook, trying to push through the distractions and help them prepare for the completion instead. Evidently, that didn't seem to be working out so well though.
"Taehyung asked if you were sure that you're fine with us not having a fill-in guitarist for the show." Namjoon answered from where he was seated at his drum set, brushing a few brunette strands of hair out of his eyes. "We wrote half of the songs we can preform when we had a second guitarist, so we're going to have to change a bit of stuff if it's just going to be you."
Jimin frowned, looking down at the guitar in his hands. Namjoon was right. He was confidence in his musical skill, but at the end of the day he wasn't superhuman. There were only a few weeks left until the competition too, and so that wasn't exactly a huge timeframe to rework the songs on their set list.
"I'll be okay." Jimin answered, reaching up to adjusting his guitar's tuning. "If I'm going to be completely honest with you I think bringing in a completely new person right before a competition would stress me out more."
He sighed softly, before moving his guitar off of his lap and setting it down on the couch beside him. Preparing for the competition, combined with figuring out his feelings for Jungkook, was proving to be a lot of mental stress for Jimin's brain.
"You sure? You seem like something's bothering you." Namjoon set down his drumsticks, crossing his arms over his chest. When their gazes met, Namjoon's eyes completely searched his for answers, silently attempting to pick apart his mind.
"I thought that too." Taehyung piped up from where he was lounging on a chair across from the couch, drawing Jimin's attention to him. "What?" Taehyung laughed at Jimin's taken aback expression. "You were staring at wall in silence for nearly fifteen minutes earlier. Did you think we were just going to let that side as normal?"
Jimin huffed, looking to the side and crossing his arms over his chest.
"I didn't think I was being that obvious." He mumbled, tapping his fingers against the side of his arm.
"Well, you are." Namjoon laughed. He set his drumsticks on the floor beside him and sighed. "If we want to actually be ready for the competition coming up, we're all gonna need clear heads. Including you." Jimin looked over, meeting Namjoon's gaze. "So, tell us who or what is stressing you out."
Jimin furrowed his eyebrows.
"Why can't you guys just let me work things out on my own?" He grumbled, averting his gaze to the window.
"Because that's obviously not working very well." Taehyung laughed softly, before blowing a few strands of hair out of his face. "C'mon. Tell us. Is it because of that drummer you went on a date with?"
"Oh yeah! Tae was telling me about that! How'd the date go?" Namjoon piped up, and Taehyung snickered at the pink tint he could see rising to Jimin's cheeks.
"It wasn't a date." Jimin huffed, avoiding eye contact with his friends. "He just invited me to his show, and I went. That's all."
Taehyung scoffed, leaning forwards and narrowing his eyes at Jimin.
"You're leaving out the part where he took you home after." He laughed, only causing Jimin's face to turn redder. Taehyung had known since Jimin had first walked in that his night with Jungkook had been more than just an innocent night of music. If it wasn't the fact that Jimin couldn't stop blushing while talking about him, then it was because Jimin wasn't too good at concealing hickeys with makeup.
"How'd you know that?" Jimin asked, before taking a deep breath in an attempt to regain his composure.
"Well after you went out I didn't hear from you until later the next morning." Taehyung answered, before smirking and pouting to his own neck. "Also, you need a better concealer."
Jimin's eyebrows shot up and his hands flew to his neck, attempting to hide the marks that were peeking through the makeup he covered them with. "So, it either went really bad, which is why you're stressing right now." Taehyung continued. "Or, it went really well, and you don't know where to go from here."
"Bingo." Jimin sighed, resting his head on his hand and meeting Taehyung's gaze. "Sometimes I think you two are psychic."
"No, you're just really easy to read, Min." Namjoon chuckled. He stood up from where he was sat at his drums, walking over to sit next to where Jimin was on the couch. Sitting beside him, Namjoon patted Jimin on the back once before resting his arm on his friend's shoulder. "So what? You're not sure if it was a one time thing or not?"
"Basically." Jimin shrugged. "I definitely want to see him again. I think I'd like to actually get to know him, if possible." He folded his hands together in his lap. "But I'm pretty sure I'm the only one thinking that. Jungkook is... such a magnetic person, but that means I'm definitely not the only one he attracts."
Taehyung quirked an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" He asked, making Jimin huff in response.
"He's a player! I know he is." Jimin replied. "If you talked to him you'd agree with me too. He just knows all the right things to say and do, but he always has this look hidden in his eyes - mischief - like he knows exactly what he's doing to you and he thinks it's fun."
Taehyung's eyebrows raised, and the corners of his lips tugged up into a smirk.
"I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty hot, so I'm not seeing the issue quite yet." He laughed, making Jimin groan out of annoyance.
The raven haired male sent a lighthearted glare in Taehyung's direction, before picking up his guitar pick from off of the floor and throwing it at the other male.
"The issue is that I don't want to just be one of his little groupies or whatever." Jimin answered. "From how I've heard his band members talk, it certainly isn't uncommon for Jungkook to disappear home with someone after a show." He sighed softly, looking down. "I'm just not that kind of person. I tried to be, but honestly I just always go home feeling worse. I just... I don't want to just be another name to add to his roster."
The room fell silent for a few moments, the other two male's obviously taking time to let Jimin's words sink in. "But! He just also has to be the hottest fucking person I have ever met." Jimin broke the quietness, his words snapping through the timid mellow of the room. "So, if I know myself well enough, I'll probably end up hooking up with him again and making my mental dilemma worse."
"I feel like you're doing a lot of assuming here." Namjoon hummed, moving his arm off of Jimin's shoulder. "You don't really know what his intentions are with you until you ask, right? Do you have his phone number?"
Jimin nodded, his lips turning down into a frown.
"Yeah, he gave it to me the morning after the concert." He answered. "But I'm not just going to text him out of the blue and ask him what he thinks of me. I'm not trying to scare him off." Jimin paused for a second. "Yet."
Namjoon laughed softly, watching a Jimin pulled his phone out of the back pocket of his jeans. He unlocked it, then pulling up the contact he had made for Jungkook.
"Well, of course not." Namjoon rolled his eyes. "You've got to be a little bit more discreet than that." He slid closer so that he could get a closer look at Jimin's screen, before waving Taehyung over to come closer. "You should ask him out for coffee."
Jimin furrowed his eyebrows.
"Coffee?" He looked at Taehyung, who shared the same expression as him.
"Yes, coffee." Namjoon confirmed. "It's a really neutral activity. Friends go out for coffee, couples do for dates too, but somebody who's only trying to fuck you probably wouldn't be interested in it." Namjoon watched as a look of realization slowly spread across Jimin's face. "If he says yes, then there you go, you can stop stressing so much about just being a one night stand. If he says no, then it's probably safe to assume he'll prefer asking you to meet up at night."
Jimin nodded slowly, his thumb hovering over his keyboard as he stared at his screen where he had opened a new message to send to Jungkook. He hadn't texted or called the blue haired male since he had obtained his phone number a few days ago, mostly due to the fact that he couldn't figure out what to say to break the ice. Talking in person was one thing but texting and calling was different.
He typed out a quick but short request for coffee, signing it with a cute emoticon that he hoped made Jungkook chuckle.
His thumb hovered over the send button, and he couldn't admit our loud how fast his heart was beating within his chest. He couldn't believe how nervous he was over a simple text - just what was Jungkook doing to him? Jimin took a deep breath, squeezed his eyes shut, and pressed his thumb against the send button.
"And now we wait." Namjoon smiled after watching Jimin's text message go through, though the raven haired male beside him looked as if he was close to having a heart attack.
"That's the worst part." Jimin groaned, setting his phone down on the couch beside him.
However, either luck was on his side, or Jungkook had been waiting for him to text - because less than two minutes after Jimin's message had sent, his phone went off with the notification of a reply.
A surprised expression painted across all three of the male's faces, Namjoon and Taehyung watching intently as Jimin picked up his phone to read what the response was. They observed as a blush slowly crept up Jimin's neck, then the tips of his ears, before his whole face was turning pink at whatever he was reading.
"Namjoon, I still don't think my questions are answered." Jimin spoke softly, before turning his phone around for both of his friends to read.
