"Why'd you approach me?"
Jungkook and Jimin lay beside eachother in the younger male's bed, the mid afternoon sunlight casting rays through his bedroom window. Jungkook was completely bare apart from his underwear, his blankets haphazardly shielding up his goosebump covered legs.
A lit cigarette was balanced between his pointer and middle finger, his lighter discarded on the bedside table next to him along with the remaining cigarettes left in his pack. Jimin lay beside him, naked body wrapped up in Jungkook's soft blankets as he observed every detail of the man beside him.
His bright blue hair was matted with sweat and pushed off of his forehead messily, eyelids low as looked over to meet Jimin's gaze. Jungkook was just so undeniably gorgeous, it was really no wonder that Jimin found himself tangled up with him once more. He just wanted to stay there, and stare at him forever, even if he was just being led down a trail that ended with nothing.
"At the back of the stage, you're still the centre of attention." Jimin answered softly, pulling Jungkook's blanket further over this shoulders. The younger male's breath hitched, the stream of smoke leaving his mouth stopping short at Jimin's words. "Every night you'd play, I'd think of different conversation starters to approach you with, but I'd always back out." He sighed softly. "I finally got fed up with myself for being so anxious, and now here I am."
Jungkook nodded slowly, and it was obvious that he was trying his hardest to bite back a smile as he took in Jimin's words.
"Almost like you were meant to be here the whole time." Jungkook spoke gently, his words caressing Jimin's mind and filling it with dangerous thoughts. A spot of ash fell off of the end of his cigarette and landed on his chest, directing Jimin's gaze back to his toned body. He couldn't help but blush. "All those days to come up with a pick up line, and you chose to go after my addiction." Jungkook chuckled softly when Jimin didn't respond, his words partially muffled by the cigarette he had just placed between his lips. "You're lucky though, because it did leave an impression."
He sat up more, resetting his elbows on his knees. Jimin almost forgot to respond to Jungkook's words, too busy fixating on all of the colourful ink that swirled around the younger male's bicep. Jimin himself had a few small tattoos, but Jungkook's were just so eye catching - like his body was a canvas partially painted upon.
"I didn't know what to say that you wouldn't have already heard before." Jimin breathed, his gaze flitting upwards to meet Jungkook's gaze again. He watched as the younger male's eyebrows furrowed at his words, confusion written all over his face.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked, holding Jimin's gaze. The shorter male felt a shiver roll down his spine.
"I just..." Jimin had to direct his gaze to the sheets, finding it far too hard to form words when lost in they eyes of the younger male. "Your band is pretty popular around town, you're talented, good looking. You can't tell me I'm the first person to come home with you after a show."
Jungkook hummed, his eyebrows raised as he nodded understandingly. He had to admit, waking up to a stranger in his bed after a show was a common occurrence in his life - and he didn't mind it that way. Having Jimin think that he was that kind of person though... it weighed a little heavier on his chest than before. Why though? He wasn't sure.
"You're not." Jungkook spoke, his voice gravelly from the smoke drying out his throat. He thought it would be better if he just told the truth. "But," Jungkook waited for a moment until Jimin finally met his eyes once more before continuing. "You're the first to have me twice."
He wasn't sure why he said that. So much so that Jungkook nearly physically cringed after letting the words leaving his mouth. It wasn't true, not even by a fraction, but he knew it would sound nice to Jimin's ears.
He just couldn't shatter the mental image Jimin seemed to create of him, just yet.
Jimin felt as a warm blush spread up to the tips of his cheeks, and his fisted his fingers into he blanket he had wrapped around him. "First to get my phone number. First to read my lyrics." Jungkook continued, pausing to take another puff off of his cigarette. "And I think those things matter just a little bit more."
Jimin nodded, breathing out a soft sigh and curling his arms around himself a little bit tighter. He hoped the words were true. That he had genuinely left an impact on Jungkook like the younger male had on him. Because fuck, no one had ever made his heart flutter like this, no one words seemed to seep as deep into his mind as Jungkook's did.
He watched as Jungkook took another drag off of his cigarette, almost having finished it by now. His lips were plump and still kiss swollen as curls of smoke rolled out of them, and Jimin let out a soft sigh.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, catching Jimin's gaze. He blew out the rest of the smoke in his mouth, before extending his the cigarette out to Jimin as an offering.
"Want to try?" The younger male asked, his voice just above a whisper. It was mid afternoon, but somehow Jungkook made it feel like nighttime. Maybe it was his demeanour, or the fact that they were still in bed, but the whole situation felt as if it belonged between the hours of one to three am.
"Never." Jimin answered immediately, turning his head away to avoid the smoke that was filtering towards him. He heard Jungkook chuckle softly, and turned back to look at the younger male again.
"Why?" Jungkook asked, finishing off the cigarette and putting it out on the ashtray next to his bed. "It's not like one puff is going to kill you."
"I know that." Jimin laughed, leaning back into Jungkook's pillows. "But I know that I'll probably like it, and so I'd rather never try."
Jungkook pursed his lips together, before shifting closer so that he could lay more comfortably next to where Jimin was.
"That doesn't make any sense." He chuckled, goosebumps arising on his skin when Jimin slid closer and gently rest his head on his chest. His black haired tickled Jungkook's skin, breathing soft as it fanned against him.
"Looks like you've still have a lot to learn then, when it comes to understanding me." Jimin whispered, before his eyes were fluttering shut as Jungkook's heartbeat lulled him into relaxation.
The younger male opened his mouth to respond, but decided it may be better to leave Jimin's words hanging in the air. It was true, he really understood nothing when it came to how Jimin's mind worked, but for some reason he found himself wanting to know. Wanted to figure him out without Jimin having to explain it to him, learn what made him tick.
He knew nothing about him, really. He wished he knew everything.
Jungkook reached down, brushing a few pieces of hair out of Jimin's eyes before threading his tattooed fingers through it. It was so soft, and Jungkook felt it when Jimin melted into his hold. A smile graced Jungkook's lips before he even realized.
This was never what he expected when Jimin had approached him that night after his show. Jungkook wanted to leave an impression on Jimin, so that he could drag the gorgeous male home and show him a good time. What he ended up with, was Jimin taking hold of his mind and dancing around his thoughts.
He sighed, gazing down at the raven haired male beside him.
This wasn't just going to be a one night stand, was it?
Breaking through the near deafening silence they had both found themselves in, was the sound of Jungkook's phone ringing on the table beside his bed. He sighed softly out annoyance, reluctantly sitting up from where he had been snuggled next to the shorter male, before looking to the screen and squinting his eyes to make out the contact.
Jimin watched him, observing every single last detail of Jungkook's movements as his eyes widened, his smile dropped, and he was quickly declining the call. That wouldn't have been all that bad, but the nail in the coffin was the worried gaze that Jungkook looked back at him with.
'You better not have seen that' it said, but Jimin did. He saw the two red hearts next to the name of the contact he declined, and just got a glimpse of the contact photo before his screen was going dark again.
And the little bubble that had been created around the two of them popped.
First to get his number, huh?
God, he hated being right sometimes. He wished that everything could be ignorantly blissful, and that Jungkook really did want to progress their relationship into something more. He thought, that maybe he had a tiny bit of a chance, with the reassuring words and promises of future dates that Jungkook showered him with.
Jungkook had written a song about him, it really wasn't his fault that he let his better judgement be clouded by Jungkook's sweet words and touches.
But maybe it was all a masquerade, to keep Jimin running after him time and time again. Maybe, he read the exact same lines off to every body that warmed his bed. Jungkook knew that Jimin liked him long before they had first spoken, and so he probably also knew that keeping the shorter male wrapped around his finger wouldn't be too hard if he played his cards right.
And if he hadn't left his phone off of silent, he probably would have gotten away with it.
"Why don't you call them back?" Jimin spoke, his words dancing just above a whisper. Jungkook's soft sheets suddenly felt suffocating, the reverie from before transforming into a heavy atmosphere.
"What?" Jungkook's expression was suddenly flooded with anxiety, as he tried to discern whether or not Jimin had caught his bold faced lie.
"You hung up so fast." Jimin hummed, suddenly finding the blank greyness of Jungkook's bedroom wall to be more interesting than the younger male's face. "Kind of rude, don't you think?"
Jungkook couldn't even help the grimace that spread across his face, glad that Jimin was looking away so that he couldn't see the expression.
It was all just horrible timing. The girl who had called him was one he had been trying to shake off, but Jimin didn't know that. All Jimin knew, was that Jungkook had told him one thing, only for it to be disproved only moments later.
How many other things, had be bluffed about in the name of romance?
"It doesn't matter, I've got you here right now." Jungkook finally decided to speak, making the male beside him merely nod silently in response.
Around an hour ago, he would have melted at those words, but now all he could do is pick them apart and deconstruct their meaning.
'It doesn't matter, I've got you here right now.'
So what would have happened, if he wasn't?
