happy friday!!

"Jungkook, come on, why are you moping?"

Jungkook had fucked up, pretty badly it seemed.

He should have known, that the second his phone lit up with the contact of one of his pervious hookups, everything would be over.

Jimin didn't want to be that - just another contact in Jungkook's phone, he wanted to be more than that. He could tell by the way Jimin looked at him, always something much deeper than lust swimming in his eyes. He could tell by the way Jimin would turn pink not just from his sexual advances, but from his innocent compliments as well.

And he didn't mind it.

Usually, this would be around the point of a relationship that Jungkook would try and distance himself before feelings for him could envelop any further. With Jimin, he didn't want to. He wanted to stick around, see where things could actually end up if he let them. It was a scary feeling, but it was also addicting, like he was chasing after a high every time Jimin wasn't with him.

He just wanted to keep Jimin around for a little longer, if he could, but that was getting a bit difficult to do when the older male wasn't returning any of his messages.

"I fucked up." Jungkook answered bluntly, laid on his back on his couch with his hands covering his face. He let out a deep sigh, rubbing his face before uncovering it and looking over to Hoseok, who was sat across from him.

Jimin hadn't returned any of his calls or messages since the black haired male had left his apartment not long after the mood between them had shifted. Jungkook knew why, he had been caught in one of his lies and it probably made Jimin feel like he was being played horribly.

He just wished that he could explain himself. Tell Jimin that he only lied because he didn't want to be seen in a bad light, and he didn't want Jimin to leave once he learned that he wasn't the romantic he had mistaken for.

But he wanted to learn how to be, with Jimin.

"Fucked up?" Hoseok asked, raising an eyebrow where he was sat cross legged on Jungkook's floor with an acoustic guitar perched in her lap. The younger male nodded. "How? What'd you do this time?"

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, and scoffed.

"This time." He repeated sarcastically, making a cheeky smile stretch across Hoseok's lips. "Don't make it seem like this is a regular thing." Jungkook complained, blowing a few strands of hair out of his face.

Hoseok couldn't help but chuckle, before setting his guitar down on the floor beside him and brushing off his lap.

"All I'm saying is this isn't the first time I've heard the words 'I fucked up' leave your mouth." He shrugged, only making Jungkook's frown deepen. "No judgement, Kook, I'm just calling it like I see it." Jungkook rolled his eyes, but didn't argue any further, knowing deep down that his friend had a point. "Tell me though, what happened? I wanna know."

Jungkook let out a deep sigh, closing his eyes and leaning back into the couch cushions.

"There's this guy I've been seeing - Jimin. I don't think I've told you about him." Jungkook began, opening his eyelids once more and watching small swirls dance across his vision as his eyes readjusted.  "I... I really like having him around. He's cute, confident, sexy, great in bed-"

"Yeah, yeah, brag much?" Hoseok interrupted sarcastically, making Jungkook huff and flick out his middle finger.

"I've got to give you some prior information so you get the whole picture." Jungkook answered, looking over to Hoseok and watching as the guitarist shrugged and nodded. "He came up to me at a show, and took me a few nights to be able take him home, but we really hit it off after that."

He paused, taking a moment to think of what to say next. "I don't think... I don't think he's the type of person, who's okay with just casually sleeping together. He's more exclusive."

Hoseok raised an eyebrow, slight surprise coating his features.

"Not like you, to involve yourself with someone like that." He commented, and Jungkook shrugged and nodded.

"I'm aware." He laughed softly. "But... I don't know. There's something about Jimin that I really like, not just sexually." Jungkook bit his lip before continuing. "I'm not good at relationships, but I don't know, I'd give it a shot with him." The words he spoke made his own heart flutter, because it was the first time he really came to terms with how he felt about Jimin.

Sure, he had written a song about him, but you don't have to like someone to write a song about them.

"So what's the problem then?" Hoseok asked, scooting closer to where Jungkook lay. "He likes you, you're willing to commit to him, how'd you go wrong?"

Jungkook couldn't help but cringe at Hoseok's use of the word 'commit', his stomach doing a strange flop as part of him thought about what that fully entailed.

'I've only known him for a few weeks'. He thought. 'Is he actually the one?"

"I lied to him." He finally admitted. "I told him a bunch of things, like how he's the first person I brought home twice, and the first person I gave my phone number to." Jungkook watched as Hoseok cringed, fully aware of the severity of the lies. "He already thought I was a player, I had to redeem myself somehow. It just didn't last long when Hyejin called me a few minutes later, and Jimin saw her contact pop up."

"Hyejin?" Hoseok asked. "Pink haired girl from the show in Itaewon?" Jungkook nodded, avoiding eye contact. "You still talk to her?"

"Barely." Jungkook breathed. "Last time we hooked up was like... a month ago, but she still calls and texts every now and then." He finally sat up more, smoothing down the front of his shirt once he did so. "Her contact name still has all the hearts and shit from when she first put her number in my phone, and I'm pretty sure Jimin caught on to that."

Hoseok hummed understandingly, leaning back on his elbows and breathing out a sigh.

"So? Where do you guys stand now?" He asked, leaning forwards and picking up a lighter off of Jungkook's coffee table to fiddle with.

Jungkook groaned softly, running a hand through his hair.

"He won't answer any of my calls of texts." He replied, looking over to meet Hoseok's gaze. "He's probably just taking some time to make up his mind about me, or something, but I'm tired of waiting. I just want to apologize, and make things okay between us again. I tried to, over text, but I don't even know if he's read it."

Hoseok nodded understandingly, flicking the lighter in his hand and producing a small flame.

"I feel like you've done all you can, then." Hoseok answered, quickly continuing once Jungkook frowned at his words. "You've already apologized over text, and don't kid yourself - you know he's read it. It's been a few days." Jungkook bit his lip, nodding begrudgingly. "You know that he sees you as more than just a hook up, and so you also know that what happened probably hurt him." Jungkook nodded again. "Ultimately, it's up to him to decide if he wants to try and make things work with you."

Hoseok tossed the lighter he was holding back onto the table in front of him. "If you hear from him, then great, but if you don't then it's probably because you either met the wrong person or you met him at the wrong time."

Jungkook let the words seep into his brain, taking a moment to register them. He knew that he was playing a dangerous game when he invited Jimin over, and he knew that he was wading into deeper water than normal when he found himself letting the older male stay overnight time and time again.

Maybe, he wasn't prepared. Maybe someone like Jimin, was somebody he needed to wait for to deserve.

"I just... I don't know." Jungkook sighed. "I've never been so hung up over somebody like this. Sure, we left off on a bad note, but I've had way harsher break ups before and never felt this way."

Hoseok couldn't help but chuckle softly, running a hand through the caramel brown strands atop his head.

"Yeah, that's what happens when you like someone for more than just their looks." Hoseok laughed softly, observing the expression on Jungkook's face. He was so difficult to read, when he became lost in his thoughts. "I think you should come to the bar with me and Yoongi tonight."

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, looking to meet Hoseok gaze incredulously.

"Yeah, no." He laughed without humour. "I'm not in the mood tonight, clearly." He brushed off the black ripped jeans he was wearing, before reaching forwards and grabbing his pack of cigarettes off of the table in front of him.

"That's exactly why I'm telling you to come." Hoseok, rolled his eyes, a small chuckle leaving his lips. "It'll definitely make you feel a lot better, to let loose an have fun. The best way to mend the heart is with alcohol."

Jungkook frowned, shaking his head and placing a cigarette between his teeth.

"Whoever told you that was trying to set you up." Jungkook chuckled softly, standing up and brushing off his pants. "If I do come, I'm hardly drinking and I'm not staying long."

Hoseok clapped excitedly, a grin spreading across his face as he silently celebrated. "Hoseok, I said 'if' I never said that it's for sure." Jungkook laughed, nodding for Hoseok to stand up with him.

"I've known you long enough." Hoseok shrugged, standing up as well and tossing Jungkook the lighter he had been playing with. "You'll come."

Jungkook shook his head, giving up on trying to argue with his bandmate.

"Yeah, probably."
