Chapter 42:

The nightmare of the past

[P.O.V] Benjamin de Guzman (Benjie)

[Meanwhile at the south area of the university]

"Cedric, what are you doing here? I thought you were in Hongkong with your mother." (I said to Cedric as I gasped.)

As I trying to ask Cedric, he slowly approaches me and furiously punch me in my face.

"Why did you let your father take James to expel from this university! why didn't you let James explain himself why he thought of stealing the examination answer!" (Cedric yells to me as he extremely angry at me.)

"Are you fucking crazy!? ... why would I let someone who ruined my reputation explain himself? and because of what James did to me for the past four years, I had feared to trust someone around me." (I ask Cedric as I feel furious at him.)

At that moment, Cedric suddenly feels furious at me as he keeps staring into my eyes.

 "The reason why James accusing and framing up you because, at that time, he badly needs to gain money." (Cedric yells at me as he feels furious at me.)

Note: Frame-up is a conspiracy to falsely incriminate someone.

"What do you mean?" (I ask Cedric while I staring at him with curiosity within my mind.)

[P.O.V] Cedric Bautista

Many people will walk in and out of our life but only true friends will leave a footprint in our heart that's why when my mother decides to go back here to the Philippines to find my father to sign the divorce paper, I also decide to take a visit to my previous university to say Hi to my two closest friends (Benjie and James)

But it seems that James decides to continue his evil plan to steal the examination answer key to gain money to find his real father in America.

In the four years passed that I haven't been here in the Philippines, the friendship of Benjie and James suddenly broke apart.

Four years ago, before my mother and I decided to go overseas (Hong Kong) to rid bad memories of what happens in our family, James suddenly open up to me about the examination answer key, at that time, James wants to steal the examination answer key to gain money.

At first, I suddenly confused about why James needs to steal the examination answer key for upcoming final semesters but James told me that he needs to steal the examination answer key to gain money to find his real father in America but just like what James said to me, he couldn't steal the examination answer key for the upcoming final examination without Benjie's help but I don't know why it ended up ruining the friendship between Benjie and James.

If James badly needs to gain money for stealing the examination answer key but for who? who ordered James to steal the examination answer key?... that question trigger my curiosity as I heading towards James's house to ask him why he accused and framing up Benjie the one who steals the examination answer key four years ago.

As I walking and looking at my phone while I was heading towards James's house, I suddenly heard a breaking glass bottle with a punch noise nearby.

At that moment, I decide to walk away from that disturbing noise but when I walking away from that destructive noise, I suddenly feel goosebumps when I saw two guys with wounds immediately run away as they feel scared and anxious.

At that time, I don't have any idea what happens going on but I suddenly startled when someone calls my name.

"Ced? it's that you?" (A mysterious guy suddenly called me behind my back.)

At that moment, I suddenly stopped walking as I smirk because I knew that voice and that voice belonged to James.

At that time, I suddenly turned around to James.

"Long time no see my old friend, it's been four years since the last time we see each other." (I said to James as I give him a smirk.)

"Yeah, but why are you here? I thought you are in Hongkong with your mother." (James asks me.)

At that moment, I suddenly keep quiet as I seriously stare at James.

"What's going on between you and Benjie? I thought your main plan was just to steal the examination paper to gain money but why are you accusing him of a crime he never committed!" (I said to James as I feel annoyed at him.)

At that moment, James suddenly looks down as he keeps laughing like an evil laugh while his tears suddenly fall.

"Life isn't always rosy for everyone that's why I made a huge mistake from the past, I thought that framing up and accusing  Benjie of stealing the examination answer key makes me happy and gain more money from Mr. de Castro but when Benjie find out that I am the one who steal the examination answer key but Benjie's father made a way for me to be blacklisted in all universities in our country, at that moment, I want to explain to Benjie and to his father my main reason why I framing up Benjie but they didn't give me a chance to explain myself that's why I promise to myself that I will take revenge of what happened to me. I will help Mr. de Castro to take away the de Guzman family from our university!" (James yells to me as his tears keep fall.)

At that moment, I suddenly feel sorry for James... because four years ago when James told me that her mother's husband isn't his real father that's why, James decided to find his father whatever it takes but even though that he admitted to himself that he had made a huge mistake in the past but for me, Benjie's father was so cruelly because he didn't give James a chance to explain himself and also Benjie's father took big steps to make sure to ruin James' future by blacklisted him from all the university in our country.

Just like what James said to me, life isn't always rosy for everyone because the worst feeling in this world is knowing that we did our best to gain something but our best still wasn't good enough but at that moment, while James keeps in tears, I suddenly ask him about something.

"Sorry for asking this but why are you helping Mr. de Castro to expel the de Guzman family from our previous university?" (I ask James as I seriously stare at him.)
