Chapter 35:

The piece of chess

[Kaito's condominium unit]

Saturday around 7 A.M in the morning, I suddenly woke up because of Kaito's loud voice.

I don't know why his voice was loud and angry but when I went to the living room of Kaito's condominium, I saw Kaito arguing with Kevin.

After Kaito argued with Kevin, he immediately walked to the kitchen with an angry face.

I don't know what's the main reason why Kaito to get pissed off so I immediately went to Benjie, Gun, Kevin, and Jelai to ask what was going on. 

"Guys, what's happened to Kaito? why Kaito suddenly furious?" (I ask them as I comb my bed hair.)

"Yesterday, when our team was planning how we could beat James Sebastian to his teammates for the upcoming day of intramurals, Kevin suddenly came up with a plan on how we could beat James Sebastian that's why Kevin thought using Kaito and Benjie's fans as our army to defeat James Sebastian's army of students" (Jelai said to me.)

 "Is that so? but it seems that Kevin has a good idea." (I said as I keep combing my hair.)

"But Kaito doesn't want to include innocent people who have nothing to do with the problem we are facing right now, and if we think about it, Kaito did the right thing by disagreeing with Kevin wanted it to happen." (Gun said.)

While Gun and Jelai and I were talking, Benjie suddenly spoke and said "Guys, can you respect my decision that after we beat James Sebastian, I have to leave and move to another university."

"But...!" (Kevin.)

At that time, Benjie suddenly stood up as he keeps smiling.

"Guys, can you give me a group hug?" (Benjie says with a smile.)

At that moment, we immediately hugged Benjie, and at that moment, Jelai, Kevin, and I burst into tears.

"Guys, I know that you don't want me to leave the university because of Kaito and I always appreciate your individual effort to save me but don't worry because after we beat James on the day of university intramurals, everything will be back to normal and this university became a peaceful place." (Benjie said as he hugging all of us.)

As Benjie, Kevin, Gun and Jelai and I hugged, Kaito suddenly came out of his room.

"Guys, what are you doing?" (Kaito asks as he wearing an apron.)

At that time, all of us look at Kaito and we immediately ran to Kaito so we could give him a warm hug.

"Guys, wait... hahaha that's tickling... Please let me go." (Kaito said as he tickled by Kevin and Gun.)

[P.O.V] Cedric Bautista

[ATM at Mr. de Castro office]

"Hey! Are you really sure we're going to make our plan against Benjie in the upcoming university intramurals? Isn't it dangerous for us when we make the plan that day? (I asked James.)

[Introduction of new character]

Name: Cedric Bautista

19 years of age

One of the vengeance empire commander known as The knight of the chess

Reason to joined vengeance empire: James and Benjie's old friend for 4 years.

Note: The Knight is the only piece in the game of chess that can "jump over" other pieces, regardless of whether those pieces are black or white. Knights capture enemy pieces by replacing them on their square.

"Isn't that exciting?... that other students within this university can be our live audience in our upcoming show for stupid Benjamin."  (Meme said to me while she keeps laughing as she ate the petals of the white rose that she holding.)

[Introduction of new character]

Name: Meme Valdez

19 years of age

One of the vengeance empire commander known as The queen of the chess

Reason to joined the vengeance empire: She wants to be the number 1 bully on the campus. (Benjie is always the number 1 and Meme always on the second placer.)

Note: The Queen is one of the most powerful piece on the board. She can do all the moves, can cut across the board and objections to get things done. The Queen can remove obstacles with a single move.

"Don't worry because Mr. de Castro has already settled what I planned to do at the upcoming university intramurals." (James said.)

At that moment, Mr. de Castro suddenly turns around at James with his fierce look.

"It isn't difficult for me what James to ask for... all security officers need to take a vacation on the day of university intramurals." (Mr. de Castro said as he staring at the window.)

[Introduction of new character]

Name: Armando de Castro

40 years of age

One of the vengeance empire commander known as The bishop of the chess

Reason to joined the vengeance empire: Mr. de Castro is one of the most respected deans of the university and one of the shareholders in the university, he didn't want the de Guzman family to become more superior within the university.

Note: The Bishop can cross the entire board in a single move, can be both devastatingly effective and completely useless depending upon the need, and are often the first pieces sacrificed when things are going against you. Don't underestimate the Bishop though, as they can be so far across the board that you don't realize the threat until they slide across and remove a key piece. Don't understate the impact removing a key resource from a project, or killing a project outright, can have on you. Keep your eye on Bishops at all times.

As the four of us talk about our plan against Benjie in the upcoming university intramurals, as always, Ethan is always quiet and ignores us as he keeps himself busy starring at his laptop.

"Hey, James, why did you include this nerd (Ethan) here in our team? he just did nothing and also, this cute little guy doesn't have a plan to talk to us." (Meme said to James as she touches Ethan's hair just like a puppy.)

At that moment, James suddenly laughed at what Meme said.

"Ethan is our trump card in the upcoming game of chess so don't mess with him." (James said to Meme as he gives meme furiously look as I threat to her.)

Note: Trump card is the winning card. If you play a trump card during a game of Spades, it means that you take the whole trick — in other words, you'll pick up every card on the table. Any card game in which one card or suit ranks the highest has a trump card, the card that wins a hand.

Name: Ethan Andriano

18 years of age

One of the vengeance empire commanders known as The rook of the chess.

Reason to joined vengeance empire: forcedly to join because of blackmailing of Joseph towards him.

Note: The Rook may move like the Bishops, but since they can go laterally rather than diagonally, they are much more flexible and useful, and the best ones may castle with the King to save the day. A good IT manager is like a Rook in this instance. Able to move in straight lines but change direction when needed, a good player knows how to leverage a Rook's strengths, avoid its weaknesses, and play the piece to maximum advantage.
