The wheel of destiny

Note: This flashback chapter is 3 days before the revenger squad and Third Alcantara planned to stop James's evil plan against Benjie.

[P.O.V] Joseph Sebastian 

As I lay on the clinic bed while Irene nursing me, my heart still couldn't believe what he heard from Third earlier.

I don't know what I will do, my mind is still confused as my heart beats faster because of him that's why I can't stop myself from dripping my tears as I lay on the clinic bed.

Yes, I was secretly in love with Third before but now, I'm already in love with Irene and I am happy with what I felt for her but who will I choose between the two? the person who changed and taught my life to be brave to face my fate or the person who taught me to embrace who really I am but despite all. both of them were so important to me but it seems that my former feelings for Third suddenly blooms again out of the blue but even though our feelings seemed to be mutual, I still don't know what to do but I want to forget Third in my mind but my heart can't stop loving him again.

To be honest, I used Irene to make myself meaningful and useful and by helping her against Benjamin, I could also help to fulfill my older brother's desire to get revenge on Benjamin but it doesn't mean that my feelings for her aren't sincere but right now, to lighten the alleviate of my heart, I admitted to Irene that I used to feel for Third, and the time I confessed to Irene that I had a feeling for Third, I thought she going to freaking out but instead of judging my sexuality, she prefers to give me a hard hug and when she hugging me.

Irene's hugs make me feel comfortable and after my body fully recovered, I decided to keep my distance from Third for a while to give myself time to think, and right now, as Irene and I walking into the hallway herein the university, she suddenly asks me; "Do you have any plans to confess your feelings with Third?"

"Well, I badly want to confess my feeling to him but just like what I said, I need time to think, and furthermore, I keep a promise to help you out against Benjamin so let's focus ourselves to convince other students to joined our forces." (I told Irene with a slight smile on my lips.)

In the past days that Irene and I were patrolling the campus to convince other students to fill up the student petition letter against Benjamin, I notice that Third suddenly acting so strange, at that moment, I want to talk to him to say sorry and also, I had thought to confess my feeling for him but out of the blue, I didn't saw him much in our classroom, I think he becomes busy for the preparation for the upcoming intramurals day.

Another day passed, After our class ends, I thought of going to the mini-convenience store to buy a coffee but as I walking towards the mini-convenience store, I am still confused about how I'm going to talk to Third, I wanted to talk to him but every time I saw him, my heart suddenly become tender and weak that's why, I thought of going to the mini-convenience store to drink a coffee to rid my stress but as I walking towards the mini-convenience store, someone caught my attention, a woman with formal attire suddenly came out from her car to check her car's tire, and as I watching her in trouble, I could see in her eyes that she had no idea about how to change her flat car's tire.

so I thought to approach her to help her.

"Do you have a lug wrench and spare tire for your car, Miss?" (I ask the woman as I focusing myself on checking her car's tires.)

"Wait...Your uniform...." (The woman spoke to me as she suddenly paused for a second.)

"I mean, Yes, I had a lug wrench and spare tire back of my car... wait for a second." (The woman who owns the car stuttering told me as she immediately went to her car's trunk to open it and get the equipment I needed to repair her car.)

After the woman handed me all the equipment I needed to repair her flat tire, I immediately focus on fixing her flat tire but as I changing the old flat tire into a new one, it suddenly rain but at that moment, I didn't care if it rained so I continued to fix the tire but suddenly, the owner of the car asks me to stop for a while as she used her umbrella cover me from the rain.

After a minute, the both of us were forced to take shelter at the nearby mini convenience store, and as I sat inside the mini-convenience store waiting for the rain to stop, the owner of the car suddenly approach and sit next to me as she suddenly gives me a cup of coffee.

"Thank you, Miss, for the coffee." (I thank the owner of the car as she handed over the coffee to me.)

"I am the one who should thank you for helping me fix my car but reminds me, What's your name? and where did you learn to fix a flat tire?" (The owner of the car ask me as she sat next to me inside of the mini-convenience store.)

"I'm Joseph and I learned to fix a car from my father." (I told my name to the owner of the car.)

"Oh... I see, it seems your father has the expertise in fixing a car." (The owner of the car told me.)

"Yeah, he is but unfortunately, my both parents already passed away from a car accident when I was 9 years old." (I told the owner of the car as I staring at the rainfall through the glass window of the mini-convenience store.)

At that time, the owner of the car was suddenly speechless and stop drinking her coffee when she heard about my parents.

"Oh my gosh, Sorry." (The owner of the car stuttering says sorry to me.)

"I already accept the fact that my parents are gone so there's no need to say sorry but even though they already passed away, their presence is still in my heart to guide me." (I told the owner of the car with a slight smile on my lips.)

At that moment, as I drinking my cup of coffee the owner of the car keeps staring at me with a smile on her lips.

"You remind me of my son, Joseph, when he was still a kid but the only thing that makes the both of you unique is the word "moving on and acceptance." (The owner of the car told me with a smile.)

"Moving on and acceptance?" (I suddenly ask the owner of the car.)

"Well, when my son was still a kid, he loves playing with his grandmother but unfortunate when my mother passed away. My son decides to draw a line from us, he always locked his room to be alone and keep distance from us but out of the blue, when he met my friend's son, he suddenly become cheerful again, it seems that his childhood friend bring light in the midst of my son's loneliness but the light from the furnace of my son's heart suddenly become weaker when they had been separated for nearly nine years and at that same time, the bond between me and my son become weaker and weaker and become of that, the line that he drew from us when he still a kid suddenly appeared again that makes my heart broke into pieces but now, my son already 19 years old and he currently happy and in relationship with his childhood best friend." (The owner of the car told me as she staring outside of the mini-convenience store with a smile on her face.)

"Does mean that your son is gay?" (I calmly ask the owner of the car as I was suddenly surprised by what I heard from her.)

"Well, he had a girlfriend before but when he met his childhood best friend again, he keeps calling me to open up his feeling, and every time we called each other on phone, the relationship between us become stronger than before that's why, my son chose to embrace and accept who really he is and being a loving and over-protective mother, I accept who really he is, I respect the decision that he is going to make about his life because that's the responsibility of being a mother." (The owner of the car told me with a smile on her lips.)

After I heard what the owner of the car told me about his son, I suddenly feel sad and said: "I think we are the same as your child all along."

"What do you mean?" (The owner of the car asks me.)

"I met someone that makes me happy and because of that person, I accept and embrace who really I am and that person is a guy, he's named is Third. Third taught me to become a good person and despite of my loneliness, he is always there for me to support and protect me, he taught me to accept myself but unexpectedly, out of the blue, the world between us suddenly changed when I saw a girl who bravely confesses her feeling towards Third through a love letter and after I saw that scenario, I choose to accept my fate that Third and I will never be in a relationship and to protect our friendship against my feeling towards him, I choose to stop loving him and after days passed by, as In trying to avoid Third, I suddenly met someone named Irene, I in love with her the first time I saw her, she's beautiful inside and out, and every time we're together, I become brave that's why I chose to love her to make myself become more useful but out of the blue, while I was in love with Irene... I accidentally found out that Third was secretly in love with me, and because of what I found out, my old feelings towards Third suddenly blooms again, and right now,  I don't know what to do, I know that we had the same feelings towards each other but there's something inside of my chest that too hard to explain, I love him, we had same feelings but I'm scared, I don't have the courage to confess my feelings towards him." (I told the owner of the car as I watching and staring the rain through the glass window of the mini-convenience store.)

After I told everything to the owner of the car about the problem I am facing, she suddenly pats my shoulder as she gives me a sweet smile and that time, while she gives me a smile on her lips, I suddenly remembered my mother smile.

"I think you chose to become weak, Joseph... You choose to dominate the fear in your heart rather than your heart truly desire that why, the fear from your heart becomes dominant because you just let your fear take over what you feel. Fear is the path to the dark side, Joseph... Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering but despite all, your friend named Third deserve to know what you feel about him, he deserves to know the truth, Joseph, but it doesn't mean that I want you to confess your feeling towards him right away, I just want to tell you that the present fear is never as bad as later regret. regret is part of our life as human beings and as an elder to you, I don't want you to feel regret because of the fear you feel right now, If you want to rid the fear of your heart, you must face the possible consequences of the action you took that's the only way you can do to rid the fear of your heart, it's okay not to be okay but it's not okay if you just let your fear take over your heart's desires." (The owner of the car said to me from the bottom of her heart.)

After I heard the owner of the car's advice. My heart suddenly felt comfortable which makes me smile unknowingly, the feeling I felt now was the same feeling when talking to my mother and she is still alive.

After a long conversation, the rain finally stopped, and at that time, I went out in the mini-convenience store to continued replacing the flat car of the woman and after thirty minutes, I successfully changed the flat tire into the new one.

"Thanks a lot, Joseph!" (The owner of the car thank me as she was amazed and grateful to sees his car been fixed.)

"No, problem, Miss... I've to go." (I told the owner of the car.)

"Wait for a second." (The owner of the car told me as she stop me.)

At that moment, the owner of the car immediately went inside of her car to get something and after a few seconds, she went out to her car with her color gold Chanel wallet purse.

"Please take my calling card in case of emergency, I already owe you by fixing my car so you can call me anytime if you need my help, okay, I hope we'll meet again, Joseph." (The owner of the car told me with a smile on her lips.)

As she acts to give her calling card to me with a smile on her face. Her phone inside the car suddenly rang... so she asked permission to answer her phone first for a second and as I saw her talking to her phone, I could see in her eyes that she hurried for something important.

"Sorry, Joseph, I've to go now... I forgot that I had an important appointment at the police station nearby so be careful on your way home and take care of yourself okay... see yah... I hope we'll meet again." (The owner of the car told me with a smile on her face.)

After a few seconds, she hurried up to get inside her car to go to the police station.

A day passed again, This is the 3rd day I avoiding Third and as I walking and holding the student petition letter form towards university AVR, I coincidentally saw Third secretly enter an abandoned classroom.

At that moment, I don't know why Third entered that abandoned classroom so I thought to call Irene on the phone to ask her about this.

After ten minutes, while Irene and I were secretly investigating Third, one of the students who had joined our team suddenly approached me to let me know that my older brother was in the university gym.

At that time, when I found out that my older brother is here at the university, Irene and I immediately go to the university gym.

As Irene and I running towards the university gym to check on my older brother, I notice that she suddenly becomes restless and thinking about something so I thought of asking her.

"Irene, are you okay?" (I suddenly ask Irene as she running beside me towards the university gym.)

"I don't know why I felt so restless right now but I had a bad feeling about Third and your older brother." (Irene told me as she running beside me towards the university gym.)

After 5 minutes of running towards to university gym, Irene and I finally arrive at the university gym, and as both of us entered the gym, we suddenly surprise by what we saw.

At that time, our hearts suddenly tightened about what we saw... It seems that my older brother secretly formed an army of students to make sure he could beat Benjamin and at that moment while Irene and I were still startled by what we saw. My older brother slowly walking towards  Irene but before he could approach Irene, I immediately approach him to block him to protect Irene, and as I bravely blocked his way towards Irene, I thought to ask my older brother.

"What do you want from Irene?" (I bravely ask my older brother as I bravely block his way towards Irene.)

After my older brother heard my question, he suddenly chuckles at me with a smile on his face as he slowly approaches me.

"What I want? well, It's simple, give me the authority to handle the armies of students who build by your beloved friend (Third) so that, all of us could get revenge for what Benjie did to us and as an exchange, your beautiful friend (Irene) and your student inspector friend (Third) will not be affected by the upcoming game of chess, a war of evil and justice." (My older brother told me as he touching my right shoulder.)

After my older brother said those sentences to me, Irene suddenly become more restless and speechless of what she heard coming out of my mouth, and at that time, Irene suddenly runs away out of the Gym with tears in her eyes and as she going out of the university gym, I immediately chased her to ask her what wrong with her but as I went out the university gym to follow Irene, I notice someone stares at me inside of the university gym and the person who stares at me with a smile on his lips is one of the school directors of our university, Mr. Almando de Castro.

At that moment, I suddenly wondered why Mr, de Castro was here but at that time, this isn't the right time to ask myself about that so I turned my attention to chasing Irene

After I went out of the university gym, I immediately search for Irene but luckily after a few seconds, I immediately saw her running towards the east of the university near the university AVR and at that time, I quickly chase her to ask her what's wrong with her and after minutes of chasing her, I finally grab her hands to stop her from running.

As I grabbed Irene's left hand to stop her, I immediately ask her.

"What's your problem, Irene? Why are you crying? I thought you want to rid Benjamin from this university so let's give the authority of the armies of students made by Third to my older brother so he could remove Benjamin from our lives." (I asked Irene as I grab her left hand to stop her from running away from me.)

After I told Irene about my thoughts... she suddenly chuckles at me as she wiped her tears.

"I thought you understand my feelings, Joseph... I admit that I want to get revenge of what Benjie for breaking my heart, I want to ruin his relationship with Kaito Almasen but just like what I told you the other day that I don't want anybody to be hurt physically but as I expected, blood thicker than water... You and your older brother want to hurt Benjie just to get him out of this university and to be honest, I badly want Benjie to expel from this university as well but I am not a criminal just like your older brother, Joseph... I had no intention to beat or hurt anyone physically, I just want to take Benjie away from Kaito... I just want him to expel him from this university to forget my feeling about him but right now, I'm so disappointed in you, Joseph, because you let your soul take over your older brother's evil desires." (Irene furiously told me as she burst into tears.)

After Irene vented her resentment on me, she quickly ran away from me with tears in her eyes and that time, I immediately chased her to say sorry because I felt sorry for her but unexpectedly as I tried to chase Irene, I accidentally saw Third walking towards the east side of the university.

At that time, while I'm watching Third walking alone towards the east side of the university. Irene was suddenly out of my sight and at that moment, my attention was suddenly turned to Third that's why,  I decided to follow Third, and as I follow him secretly. I have a strong feeling that Third is going to the abandoned classroom near the university AVR on the east side of the university.

After a few minutes of secretly tailing Third, my suspicion is correct that Third heading towards the abandoned classroom near the university AVR, and after that, I saw him going to enter the abandoned classroom but before he could enter inside the abandoned classroom, someone suddenly came out from the abandoned classroom with tears and that person is Benjamin's boyfriend (Kaito) and at that time, I don't know why he's crying but when Third saw Benjamin's boyfriend (Kaito) in tears, he did not hesitate to approach Benjamin's boyfriend (Kaito) to ask him what was going on.

But before Third could approach Benjamin's boyfriend (Kaito) to ask... Benjamin's boyfriend (Kaito) suddenly runs away from Third and after Benjamin's boyfriend runs away just like a kid with tears... I could see in Third's eyes that he felt pity for Benjamin's boyfriend but suddenly, as he staring at Benjamin's boyfriend runs away towards the north side of the campus. Someone came out of the abandoned classroom again and that person was Jiro.

At that time, I become more confused and I have no idea what's going on but when Jiro came out from the abandoned classroom, he acts to chase Benjamin's boyfriend but before he could run away to chase Benjamin's boyfriend, someone suddenly came out again from the abandoned classroom to stop Jiro chase Benjamin boyfriend.

I had no idea who that person but that tiny guy told Jiro that:

"We need to talk later, Mr. Canlas... just the two of us if you want to take Kaito away from this mess." (The mysterious short guy told Jiro with no expression on his face.)

After that tiny guy spoke to Jiro, he suddenly approaches Third to talk and as I hiding in the corner, I suddenly shock about what their conversation is:

"What's happened to Kaito?" (Third asks the short guy.)

"A while ago, our gang decides to not include Kaito in our plan to rid James Sebastian of this university to stop his evil plan against Benjie." (The short guy told Third.)

At that time, my knees suddenly becomes weak because of what I heard from them because I realized that Third team up with Benjamin's allies to rid my brother's plans against Benjamin.

"This shouldn't be happening." (I spoke to myself as I secretly watching them.)

As my knees become weak and shaken because of what I heard, my older brother suddenly arrived behind my back and said; "It seems that our fate is thicker than blood, my little beloved brother. Just want Benjie did to me, it seems that Benjie took everything from you... your beloved friend (Third) left your side just like what your beautiful friend (Irene) did to you earlier, and at this moment, all your friends left you alone because of Benjie so right now, Joseph... Tell me, is Benjie worthy to stay here and continued to ruin our lives?"

At that time, because of what I heard from my older brother, My tears suddenly fell down because my older brother was right, Benjamin is a monster who ruin people lives and I'm one of his victims and because of the anger I felt for those people who helping Benjie to escape his sin, I decided to take over the authority of the armies of students to my older brother without Third's permission... this is the least I can do so that Benjamin will remove from my sight.

[P.O.V] Kairi Almasen (Kaito's mother)

Note: This scene is after Ms. Almasen left Joseph to go to the police station

After 15 minutes of driving, I finally arrived at the police station, and at that time, I immediately entered the police station to ask the police officer about the important information they found about what I looking for.

"Are you Mrs. Almasen, right?" (The police officer asks me.)

"Yes, I am, Did you found him, officer?" (I immediately approach the police officer.)

"Well, not exactly but base on our investigation, the parent's kid that you looking for is already passed away 8 years ago." (The police officer told me as he show me the information he gather.)

"My husband and I were aware of that so our family came back here to the Philippines to look for him but now, do you have any information about where he is now?" (The stuttering asks the police officer.)

"Sorry but for now, we don't have information about him yet but my colleagues and I tried our best to find the person you looking for but the police officer who handles this case is suddenly confused about something so can I ask you, Mrs. Almasen about something." (The police officer told and ask me.)

"What is it, officer?" (I ask the police officer.)

"Base on the information we gather and discovered, you and your husband looking a person, is this person related to your family or something?" (The police officer carefully asks me.)

"The person we looking for is the first son of my husband and his name was...." (I told the police officer with no emotion on my face.)
