Chapter 24: 

The game of affection

[P.O.V] Irene Amores

In the past days, whenever Joseph sees Third around campus, he immediately walks away from him. I don't know what really happened to the two of them but I feel sorry for Third because, Yesterday, Third admitted to me that he was secretly in love with Joseph but I don't know why Joseph was the one who keeps avoiding Third... Did Third do something to Joseph that would offend him? That question is the one my mind always asks and now, while Joseph and I worked together to strengthen our plan to expel Benjie, he always gives me smiles but now, I don't understand what they're facing,... Third and Joseph are the only friends I had and I want them to be okay.

I don't really know why Joseph is avoiding Third but I want them to restore their friendship before their quarrel with each other got worse.

And for the past days, while I was with Joseph, Out of the blue... Joseph confesses to me that he loves me. 

At that time, Joseph told me that he had given to me the authority of the student petition of Benjie to prove himself that he loved me... he wants to expel Benjie to makes me feel better.

"That freaking bastard monster (Benjie) deserves to die because of what he did to you and my older brother! I want to kill him to give us the peace we deserve! that's why after we expel him from this university, our gang will beat him outside of the university just like a piece of trash!" (Joseph fiercely told me as he gives an evil smirk on his face.)

At that time, after I heard those insulting words Joseph gives to Benjie, I quickly slap his face with tears in my eyes while I remembered the time I confess my feelings to Benjie.

"You don't understand how Benjie hurt my feelings so I'll do everything to make him pay for rejecting me that's why I want to expel him from this university to take him away from his boyfriend (Kaito) and that's all I can think of to make his life miserable but insult and threaten him that you going to kill him because of the love you felt for me?... Are you out of your mind, Joseph?... We aren't criminals okay and our main goal was to expel Benjie just like what Benjie's father did to your older brother but that's a different story if we gonna hurt Benjie physically with our evil plans." (I angrily scold Joseph.)

"But that guy is a monster, he ruined other student's life just to make himself happy... he also rejected you and hurt your feelings and the most painful he did to me was he accused my older brother of a crime not committed by my older brother but despite all, you're the only one who gives me the courage to do my evil plans against him because I care for you and... I am in love with you." (Joseph angrily told me as he felt emotional.)

"There are different kinds of love in this world, Joseph, and the only love I can give you is our friendship." (I told Joseph.)

At that moment, after I told Joseph that I don't have feelings for him, he suddenly asks me.

"You can't love me because of Third, right?" (Joseph asked me as he felt down.)

"What do you mean?" (Joseph asked me.)

"Two days ago, I saw you and Third hugging on the rooftop that's why, you can't love me back because you have feelings for Third!" (Joseph angrily told  me.)

"But that moment, I just gave Third a hug because he's crying because of..." 

At that moment, while I try to explain myself to Joseph... Someone suddenly interrupts our conversation, a mysterious guy suddenly appeared and talks to us: "Hello there, my cute younger brother, It's nice that you and I became schoolmates in this university"

At that moment, when Joseph saw his older brother, Joseph was suddenly become feel uncomfortable.

"Wait! What are you doing here and how did you get in here?" (Joseph stuttering asked his older brother as he feels uncomfortable and starts to pale.)

"Well, I should thank your friend who is a chief student inspector in this university because he's the one who returned my university ID in exchange for your safety but don't worry, I'm just here to visit my old friend (Benjie) but sad to say, his beloved classmates told me that Benjie joined a clean-up drive activity to follow the guy named Kaito, if I'm not mistaken but since that bastard wasn't here in the university, I have no reason to stay here for long so bye, my cute younger brother." (Joseph's older brother told Joseph with a smirk.)

At that moment, after Joseph's older brother talk to Joseph, his older brother peacefully left us with a smile on his face but before his older brother leaves us, I glanced at his university ID and when I saw Joseph's older brother's name that written on the university ID, I suddenly remember something that happened four years ago.

"Wait, Joseph, that guy is..." (Irene.)

As I tried to tell something to Joseph about his older brother, Joseph suddenly felt shortness of breath and began to pale, and at that moment, I could see in his eyes that he was afraid of his older brother and after a few seconds, Joseph collapsed and fainted on the floor.

At that time, when I saw Joseph suddenly collapse on the floor, I suddenly panicked and immediately asked for help, and a few seconds later, some students heard me asking for help so they quickly approached me and helped. I will take Joseph to the university clinic.

An hour later, Joseph was still unconscious as he lay on the university bed at the clinic, and as I watched Joseph here at the university clinic.

The door of the university clinic suddenly opened and Third immediately came inside of the university clinic.

"Irene? What happened to Joseph? Why did he faint?" (Third quickly asks me as he immediately approaches Joseph.)

"After his older brother talks to him, he suddenly  felt shortness of breath and began to pale and after a few seconds, he collapsed in the middle of the hallway." (I told Third.)

After Third heard everything that happens to Joseph, he furiously went out to the university but before he leaves the university clinic, I quickly stood up and took his hand to ask him a question.

"Why did let that guy entered our university?" (I asked Third with my serious face.)

"That's none of your business, Irene." (Third told me with his serious face.)

After Third said that sentence, he suddenly removed my hand from my grasp on his hand, and after a few seconds, he walked to the door to get out but I wouldn't let myself fail to get the answer I was asking him. so I took his hand again to stop him from coming out of here to the university clinic.

"None of my business? Are you fucking serious, Third!.. The both of us know that the two of us were the only friends of Joseph herein the university... You're his friend and I'm also Joseph's friend too so I deserve to know everything so tell me the truth, why did you let that guy entered our university?" (I furiously ask Third as I holding his hand.)

"I have no choice okay and that's all I can think of to protect Joseph from his older brother... you already know that I am secretly in love with him so I will do everything to protect him from the people who had bad intentions to him especially from his psychopath older brothers." (Third furiously told me.)

After Third told me everything he had done to Joseph, he went out to the university clinic but after Third left the clinic, Joseph suddenly opens his eyes and after a few seconds, he was suddenly in tears because of what he heard from Third.

[P.O.V] Third Alcantara

After I went out to the university clinic, I immediately contact my fellow student inspector to ask for help to find Joseph's older brother around the campus but for unknown reasons their phones were unreachable so I decide to look for Joseph's older brother by myself but as I looking for him, a group of students suddenly block my way and if I look at those people who block my way, I could say that this group of student are some members of the black smile gang but as I recall, this gang is already disbanded a few years ago.

Note: Black smile gang is a secret organization of students on the campus made by the Ramos twin brothers that illegally work for the rich student on the campus.

"What do you need from me?" (I ask them as I angrily look at them with my fierce eyes.)

At that moment, while I asking them, Joseph's older brother suddenly appeared at my back. 

"It's nice to see you here, Mr. Chief officer." (Joseph's older brother greets me with a smirk.)

"What the hell did you do from Joseph? and Why are you with these people?" (I fiercely ask Joseph's older brother as I point my index finger at the group of students who block my way.)

"Well, I don't need to answer why I am with these people, and now, I want you to know that I did nothing to my younger brother because based on our agreement, I made a promise to you that I won't hurt him with my dirty hands but I didn't promise to you that I won't hurt him using other people's hands." (Joseph's older brother told me with a smirk.)

"What are trying to say to me that you had a plan to hurt your brother these people!?" (I angrily asked Joseph's older brother as I point my index finger at the group of students who block my way.)

"Well, to be honest, I don't have a plan to break our agreements but when I  toured here in the campus, I heard a rumor that the chief inspector (Third) of this university secretly made an army of students to help my younger brother expel Benjie from this university but I didn't like the plan of my younger brother made for Benjie because his plan kinda childish plan that's why, I want you to give me the authority of the armies of students to fulfill my revenge on Benjie, an act of revenge that Benjie deserves to experience."  (Joseph's older brother told me with a smirk.)

"Are you fucking kidding me? I'm not an idiot to follow everything you want!" (I fiercely told Joseph's older brother.)

After I said to Joseph's older brother that I'll not follow what he wants, he slowly approaches me, and suddenly, he pats my shoulder and said: "Then, I will be forced to hurt Joseph through the girl named Irene." 

At that moment, I was suddenly startled when Joseph's older brother mentions Irene's name.

"How do you know about Irene?" (I asked Joseph's older brother as I grabbed his hand to stop him from patting my shoulder.)

At that moment, Joseph's older brother smiled at me as he comes closer to me until he reaches my right ear.

"Earlier, I accidentally witnessed a romantic scene between my younger brother and that girl (Irene)... so I thought I used them to threaten you so I could get the armies of students that you build for the stupid petition of Benjie but if you don't listen to me what I ask from you then I will be forced to do something you don't want to happen." (Joseph's older brother whispering to me.)

"How dare you threaten me like that!" (I angrily yell at Joseph's older brother as I grab his t-shirt.)

After I angrily yell at Joseph's older brother, he suddenly chuckles and smirks at me.

"Don't worry, Mr. chief student inspector because I'll give you four days to decide your decision but please make sure that the decision you going to choose can make me smile because regret is a punishment for taking a wrong decision, so keep your mind sensible." (James Sebastian told me as he smiles at me.)
