Chapter 19:

The ghost hunters

Note: This chapter is the continuation of Chapter 18 entitled "The Yin and Yang of the soccer player."

Special Note: This chapter is quite long but I hope all readers will read it carefully because this chapter is very important and might help the readers to understand the storyline of arc 4 of this book.

[P.O.V] Kaito Almasen (Kai)

After nineteen minutes of taking a taxi, I finally arrived outside of the university, and at that time, I immediately saw Kevin and Jelai waiting for me outside of our university.

"Kevin, What's going on? Where's Gun?"

At that moment, as I asking Kevin about Gun, he suddenly sighs and feels befuddled.

"Do you still remember earlier that Jelai and I volunteer to look for Gun so we thought of going to Gun's house to ask his father about his weird behavior but as Jelai and I were walking towards Gun's house... We coincidentally saw him take a taxi so we thought of following him and after thirty minutes of tailing Gun's taxi... his taxi stopped in front of our university and while Jelai and I were secretly watching Gun's taxi parking in front of our university... he suddenly came out of his taxi and immediately put on a black-colored face mask and when his taxi left, he immediately climbs up to the gate of our university to get inside." (Kevin told me.)

"But the main entrance gate of our university is very high and hard to climb but why does Gun want to enter our university at night? (I ask Kevin as I look at the main entrance gate of our university.)

"I think just like in the movies, I guess that our friend (Gun) has knowledge about martial art just like a ninja because ordinary people can't able to climb this tall gate so easily but my big question was what's Gun's main purpose inside our university at this late-hour because, for me, if he wants to enter in our university, he can enter our university when it's still open during school hour, but why did he enter our university at night." (Jelai said as she looks and touches the gate bars of our university's main entrance gate.)

"Then, what is our plan?" (I asked Jelai and Kevin.)

"We will follow Gun inside the university so we can find out what he is doing inside the university in the middle of the night. " (Kevin told me.)

"But, how? The university is closed at this hour." (Ibefuddle told Kevin as I pointed at the university gate using my index finger.)

"Don't worry, Kaito because I'll imitate what Gun did to climb the university gate and by the time, I finally entered our university, I'll open the university gate so that you and Kevin can enter." (Jelai told me as she preparing herself to climb the university gate.)

"What? Are you fucking serious!?" (I stuttering told Jelai.)

"I think that's the only way for us to find out the truth about why Gun acting so weird, so we need to follow him inside the university." (Gun told me as he staring our university with his serious face.)

"But instead of following him inside of our university, we should report this incident to the security officer in our university who patrolling at night and if we do that, the security officer will make a way for us to find out why Gun entered inside our university at this late hour." (I told Kevin and Jelai as I made a forced smile.)

"Well, you had a point but if we do that, Gun's reputation will be ruined." (Jelai said as she agreed and support my plan.)

"Jelai is right, if we report this incident to the security officers who working in our university, they will not hesitate to report it in our university's guidance office but what I'm really afraid of is if the security officer report that Gun illegally entered our university at this late-night, Benjie would get mad at him because of the same incident that happens to him four years ago." (Kevin said to us as he feels worried about Gun.)

"Same incident four years ago? What are you talking about?" (Jelai asks Kevin.)

"Is this about Benjie's old friend named James Sebastian?" (I ask Kevin.)

As I asked Kevin, he was suddenly shocked by what he heard from me.

"Wait! How did you know?" (Kevin ask me as he feels surprised by what he heard from me.)

"Dianne told me about Benjie's old friend when we were in the clean-up drive activity." (I told Kevin.)

"Wait, Guys! Who's James Sebastian?" (Jelai asks Kevin as she feels confused about Benjie's old friend.

At that moment, while Jelai asking Kevin and me about Benjie's old friend named James Sebastian... There are four security officers who suddenly passed by near the main entrance as they're patrolling towards the south direction of our university.

As the security officers walking towards the administration office, the three of us quickly hid behind a tree near the gate of our university.

As the three of us hid behind the tree... Someone called me from inside the university near the gate.

"Is that you, Mr. Almasen?" (The mysterious guy who called my name.)

At that time, when I heard those voices, I suddenly feel relieved.

"It's been a while, Mr. Camacho." (Kaito.)

"Kaito, who's that? Did you know him?" (Jelai asks me.)

"He was the very first person I met within the university." (I told Jelai.)

"But this old man looks familiar to me and he also wearing the same outfit of security officer uniform in our university!" (Kevin said as he gives Mr. Camacho a weird look.)

At that time, when Kevin telling me that Mr, Camacho looks familiar to him, I suddenly remembered the first time I met Benjie here at the university.

"What are the three of you doing outside the university this late-night?" (Mr. Camacho asks me.)

"It's a long story but we saw one of our friends climb the university gate to get in the university." (I told Mr. Camacho as I worried about Gun.)

"Oh... I see but are you referring to one of Benjie's friends named Gun Sivilya?" (Mr. Camacho asking me.)

At that moment, when Mr. Camacho asking me if I was referring to Gun ... My friends and I were suddenly surprised by Mr. Camacho's question.

"Hey, Old man! How did you know!?" (Kevin asks Mr. Camacho as he quickly approaches Mr. Camacho.)

"Well, This is the 3rd time I have seen him with his good-looking new friend sneaking here at night" (Mr. Camacho told us.)

"Wait (3x)... with his new friend? Do you have any idea why the two of them come here inside our university at night?" (I ask Mr. Camacho.)

At that moment, while I asking Mr. Camacho, he suddenly gives me a smirk.

"Okay, let's settle this, Mr. Almasen, I allowed you and your friend to go inside the university to find your friend but if my colleague catches you and your friend sneaking inside the university, I have nothing to do with that so please, hurry up and find your friend inside of the university before the three of you caught by the other security officer who patrolling inside of the university." (Mr. Camacho told me.)

After Mr. Camacho says those words, he suddenly opens the main entrance gate of our university using the gate remote control.

After Mr. Camacho opens the university gate for us, he suddenly gives something to me.

"Take this walkie-talkie in case of emergency ." (Mr. Camacho whispery told me.)

"Thanks a lot, Mr. Camacho." (I told Mr. Camacho as I quiklcy gives him a warm hug.)

After Mr, Camacho gave the walkie-talkie to me, Kevin, Jelai, and I quickly find Gun's whereabouts inside of the university, and after five minutes, while the three of us walking inside the basic education building, Jelai suddenly asks me something.

"Kaito, Do you have any idea who Gun's new friend that Mr. Camacho is referring to?" (Jelai asks me as she walking beside me.)

"No, I had no idea about that thing." (I told Jelai as I focusing myself using my phone's flashlight.)

"As I recall, Benjie and I are the only good-looking friends of Gun so I wonder who's that good-looking guy that the old man (Mr. Camacho) referring to ." (Kevin said as he walking behind me.)

At that moment, when I heard what Kevin said, Jelai and I suddenly chuckle at him.

"Why the both of you were chuckling? is there anything funny about what I said?" (Kevin ask Jelai and me.)

At that time, while the three of us walking in the darkness.

Jelai suddenly saw something in the administration building.

"Guys, look at the flashlight beam coming from the 4th floor of the administration building." (Jelai told us as she pointed the flashlight beam using her right index finger.)

At that moment, while Jelai pointing the flashlight beam coming from the administration building... Kevin was suddenly confused as he said: "No, that flashlight beam is coming from the 5th floor but why is there's flashlight beam inside the university school council office?"

"Wait for a second... Why did you say that the flashlight beam came from inside the university school council office?" (I ask Kevin as I staring at the flashlight beam at the administration building.)

"Well, besides, I hate all security officers like Mr. Camacho, I also hate the university council office so I'm 100% sure that the flashlight beam we saw now is coming from inside the university council office ." (Kevin told me.)

"Does that mean Gun is in the university school council? but what's his reason why he entered inside of the university school council at night?" (Jelai asks as she is confused about Gun's real motive.)

"If you want to know the answer to your question, we need to ask and confront that jerk (Gun) right now." (Kevin told Jelai as he looking at the direction flashlight beam with his serious look.)

After two minutes, the three of us decides to go where the flashlight beam coming from, and as the three of us walking towards the university school council office... Jelai suddenly stops walking as she quickly pulls me and Kevin to hid near the fire hose cabinet and fire extinguisher.

"What's wrong, Jelai? Why are we hiding?" (I whispery ask Jelai.)

As I asked Jelai while the three of us were hiding near the fire hose cabinet and fire extinguisher, Kevin and I were suddenly startled when we saw five security officers running in the hallway chasing two mysterious guys wearing black clothes and black masks.

"It would be better if the two of you give us what you stole from the student information office." (One of the five security officers told the two mysterious men.)

"Yes, that's right, if the two of you want to get out of here alive." (One of the five security officers threatened the two mysterious men using an electric shocker.)

At that time, the security officer holding an electric shocker ordered his colleague to surround the two mysterious men, and while the five security officers surround the two mysterious men... Jelai thought of helping them so she suddenly stood up to stop the security officers from what they were planning but as she acts to stood up, Kevin immediately stopped her as he quickly grabs Jelai's arms.

"Hey, Jelai! What are trying to do?" We have nothing against the electric shocker of the security officers." (Kevin scolds Jelai.)

"But we need to help them!" (Jelai argued with Kevin as she badly wants to help the two mysterious men wearing a black mask.)

"Yeah, I agreed with Jelai, we need to help them so please Kevin, come up with an idea of ​​how we can save them from the security officer." (I told Kevin. as I begging him to come up with an idea.)

"Don't make me pressure okay, I'm already thinking of an idea of ​​how we can save them." (Kevin told me as he starts to feel panicked and confused.)

While Kevin feel befuddled because of the situation we face now, he suddenly notices the fire hose cabinet and fire extinguisher on Jelai's back.

"Jelai and Kaito!.. Let's use that fire hose and the fire extinguisher against those stupid security officers." (Kevin told Jelai.)

At that time, Jelai quickly punches the glass cabinet of the fire hose to use it against the security officer.

"Hey, what's that noise?" (One of the security officers asks his colleague as he is confused where that noise coming from.)

While all the security officers were confused about where that noise coming from, the three of us quickly approach the two mysterious men to help them escape from the five security officers holding an electric shocker.

"Kaito, take those guys out of here!" (Jelai told me as she using the fire hose against the five security officers.)

"Okay, I understood!" (I told Jelai as I quickly grab the two mysterious guys wearing black clothes and black masks.)

"Kaito, Is that you?" (The mysterious tall guy suddenly asks me.)

"I know that voice." (I suddenly ask myself in my mind.)

"Take this stupid jerk!" (Kevin said as he enjoying use the fire extinguisher at the security officer's mouth.)

"Kaito, Jelai and Kevin? What are you doing here?" (Gun said as he was startled when he saw the three of us making a way to rescue him and the mysterious tall guy wearing a black mask on his mouth.)

"We are the ones who should ask you that question, what are you doing here inside the university at this hour?" (Kevin asks Gun as he running beside him while he still carrying the fire  extinguisher.)

After the three of us successfully rescue Gun and the mysterious guy from that five security officers, The five of us quickly ran away to escape.

After three minutes of running away from the security officers, the five of us successfully get out into the administration building.

But suddenly... 

"Hey, The five of you, Stop right there!" (Security officer who blocking our path.

At that moment, while the security officer blocking our path, Kevin suddenly throw the fire extinguisher at the security office who blocking our path.

"I've already done enough of this drama like K-drama!" (Kevin mocked the security officer after he throws the fire extinguisher on the security officer's face.)

At that moment, the security officer who blocking our path quiklcy knocks out, and after a few seconds, the five of us continued to run to escape from the security officer who chasing us.

"That's a cool move, Kevin!" (Jelai told Kevin as she running beside me.)

"A cool move from the coolest person in our gang." (Kevin told Jelai as he smirks as he praises himself.)

As the five of us kept running away from the security officers who chasing us... I suddenly,y remembered the walkie-talkie that Mr. Camacho gave to me so I thought of using that walkie-talkie to contact Mr. Camacho.

"Mr. Camacho, Can you hear me?" (Kaito.)

"Yes, Mr. Almasen, I can clearly hear you." (Mr. Camacho responds to me.)

"Can you please open the gate for us? we were now heading towards the main entrance gate." (I told Mr. Camacho using the walkie-talkie he gave to me.)

"Okay, as you wish." (Mr. Camacho told me on the walkie-talkie.)

After two minutes of running from the security officers. the five of us finally reached close to the main entrance hall and as we running towards the main entrance gate... The main entrance gate suddenly opens.

"Thanks a lot, Mr. Camacho, You're the best!" (I yell at Mr.Camacho as I running towards the exit.)

A few seconds after me and my friends successfully went out to our university...  Mr. Camacho quickly closed the gate using the gate remote control.

As the five of us running far away from our university, Kevin suddenly stops running as he quickly punches Gun's face.

"Hey Gun, What came to your mind, Why did you enter the university at this late hour!" (Kevin angrily scolds Gun.)

At that moment, Gun didn't answer Kevin's question to him, but as I watched Gun, I could see in his eyes that he's hiding something from us.

"Hey Gun! answer my question! what are you sneaking inside our the middle of the night!." (Kevin angrily scolds Gun as he quiklcy grabs Gun's shirt.)

"This is the only way for us to know who's the real complaint of Benjie's new student petition."  (The mysterious wearing mask told Kevin as he stops Kevin by beating Gun.)

"But Jiro, why didn't you tell me about this plan and I thought Benjie's new petition was made by Joseph." (I told Jiro with my serious face.)

At that time, after I revealed that the mysterious man with Gun was Jiro... Kevin and Jelai were suddenly shocked and confused.

"Jiro? The cheerleading club president? and new student petition against Benjie? and who the hell is Joseph?" (Kevin said as he was completely confused about what going on.)

"Kaito, you knew all of this? about Benjie's new petition and the guy named Joseph?" (Jelai asks me as she touches my shoulder.)

"Yes, Jelai, you are right... I know all of this that's why I apologize if I hid all of these from all of you because I am the main reason why this is happening to Benjie and I want myself to find a way to correct all my mistakes and because of me, someone imitates my student petition and use it against Benjie and it's really hard for me to keep all these problems to myself, I want to tell Benjie all of these, but I can't." (I told Jelai as I cried not because I kept a secret, I cried because I feel sorry for Benjie .)

At that moment, while  I cried as I keep apologized to my friends... Jelai suddenly hugs me to comfort me.

"Kaito, Please listen to me, You don't have to apologize to me and anyone because we respect and understand why you kept a secret from us but from now on, please be open for us because this isn't your fight anymore because we are here for you to help you save Benjie." (Jelai told me as she tried to make me calm.)

While Jelai tried to make me calm, Kevin suddenly ask Gun.

"Hey, Gun, spill the tea! how do you found out this new student petition against Benjie?" (Kevin ask Gun.)

Note: Spill the tea means telling the truth about something.

"Five days ago, after we all attended Jiro's cleaning activity... I suddenly heard humor about Benjie's new student petition so I thought of asking Benjie's father about this but unfortunately, when we came back from the clean-up drive activity, Benjie's father already went abroad for an unknown reason that's why, I decided to investigate further about Benjie's new student petition but as I investigating inside of our university, I noticed other students within our university knew something that can give me all the information about the person who filed the new student petition against Benjie but they chose to remain silent so I made a way for them to speak and as I beat them all to give me my requested information... Jiro suddenly arrives in the scene to stop me and at that moment, Jiro told me everything he knows about Joseph and his freinds that's why Jiro and I were joined forces to gather all the information about Joseph real motive why he filed and copied Kaito's student petition to expel Benjie from this university but when Jiro and I went to the university school council office to steal the documents about Benjie's new student petition, the both of us shocked when we found out that Joseph isn't the main complainant of Benjie's new student petition." (Gun's said as he sat on the sidewalk of the road.)

"Then who's the real main complainant of Benjie's new student petition?" (Jelai asks Gun.)

At that moment, while Jelai asking Gun about who's the real complainant of Benjie's new student petition, Kevin suddenly interrupted their conversation as he quickly asks Gun about something.

"Why are you doing this, Gun?.... All this time! I thought we were friends but why did you keep a secret from us... Benjie and I were so thankful to you because you always stop us from doing bad deeds inside of our university but now, you are the one who does bad deeds and  I want you to stop acting and tell us, what's your main reason why did you keep secret from us!." (Kevin angrily scold Gun.)

"Two years ago after I joined the debate competition... Benjie's father decides to approach me to hire me to become Benjie's secret butler but at first, I immediately deny Benjie's father offer because we all know that Benjie is the most dangerous person in our university, but Benjie's father told me, he was willing to pay any amount of money if I agreed to his offer, and at that time, I knew in myself the job that Benjie's father offered me would help me and my father to solve our financial problem that's why I accept Benjie's after officer to guide his son but after I accept the job, I realized that Benjie was different than I thought, he just an ordinary childish guy who deeply in love on his childhood, that's why, I told Benjie's father that I'll treat his son as my friend and the reason that I didn't tell Benjie that I was working for his father because I didn't want Benjie to treat me as an employee and Benjie's father instructed me not to tell Benjie that I had connection with him because Benjie become more rebellious if he knows that I guiding him just for a money I received from his father." (Gun told Kevin as he sat on the sidewalk.)

After Gun spill the tea about his true identity, Kevin was suddenly quiet and upset, and while the surroundings were suddenly quiet, I thought of asking Gun and Jiro about something.

"Jiro and Gun, tell me what the two of you took inside the university because I heard earlier from the security officers that the two of you took something important inside the student information office." (I ask Jiro and Kevin.)

"Yeah, I also curious what are those things." (Jelai said.)

"We entered the university at night to get this important information?" (Jiro told me as he shows us a brown envelope with the logo of our university.)

At that moment, Jiro suddenly approached Jelai to give to her the brown folder after a few seconds, Jelai opened the brown envelope to pick up what was inside of it.

"Who is he?" (Jelai ask Jiro.)

"That guy is Joseph Sebastian, he's the one who copied Kaito's student petition to expel Benjie from our university." (Jiro told us.)

At that moment, while Jiro speaking... Kevin suddenly startled and quickly interrupt Jiro.

"Sebastian?" (Kevin ask Jiro as he is suddenly surprised by what he heard from Jiro.)

At that time... Kevin quiklcy took the student information of Joseph Sebastian with the brown envelope from Jelai's hands

"This can't be happening." (Kevin said as his sweat dripped out of panic.)

"What's the problem, Kevin? Do you know Joseph Sebastian?" (Jelai asks Kevin.)

At that moment, as Kevin was looking at Joseph's student information profile, there are two papers that suddenly fell out of the brown envelope and when I saw those papers I picked them up to look at.

"Jiro, who is Third and Irene?" (I asked Jiro.)
