Chapter 10:

The Aims of our hearts

[P.O.V] Benjamin de Guzman (Benjie)

[ATM at basic education department hallway]

As I'm doing my job as a janitorial service herein the basic education department in our university, My stupid mind still can't forget what happened last night between me and Kai.

Because until now, I still remember and feel how soft Kai's lips were as I kissed him.

"Hehehe!" (Benjie's silent laugh as he remembered Kai's kiss.)

As I mopped the hallway floor of the basic education department as I keep smiling on my own, the students who passed through the hallway suddenly looked at me as they gossiped about me.

"What's with him? Why is he smiling on his own? Is he crazy?" (A female student with glasses whispery told his classmate as they're passing by in the hallway.)

"Huh? Did you forget that Benjamin de Guzman is already crazy since then? Haha." (A male student told her classmate as they're passing by in the hallway.)

Even though I notice that other students passing by in the hallway are gossiping about me, they still can't replace the happiness I feel.

At this moment, the only wish I'm dreaming for was I hope one day Kai will learn to accept my love for him... I don't have to rush Kai to open his heart for me because I believe that all the things that happened between us are destined to happen... All I need to do is to wait on how our loves story will grow.

As I stare and tell the blue sky how much I love Kai.

Kai suddenly passed by at me as he said: "What are the hell are doing here?" 

When I heard Kai's voice, I quiklcy turn around with a huge smile on my face but suddenly, I became stunned as my heart suddenly pause for a second when I saw him he was not wearing eyeglasses, and as the fragrant golden-yellow flower petals of a Narra tree falling on us, I suddenly remembered the day when the first time I realized that I slowly fall in love with him.

"Hey, Benjie, Are you deaf? didn't you hear my question?" (Kai asks me.)

"I'm so sorry Kai, what's your question again?" (I ask Kai as my heart is still stunned at Kai's new look.)

"Why are you doing your work right now? and what the hell are you still here? Didn't know what's the day today?" (Kai asks me with seriousness.)

"Wait, I don't understand... Why are you asking me what's the day today?" (I ask Kai as I am completely confused.)

"Seriously, Benjie? Don't you know that our prelim exam will be held today?" (Kai told me with seriousness.)

"Wait, What!?" (Benjie suddenly screams.)

As the fragrant golden-yellow flower petals of the Narra tree continuously fell into the ground, I quickly pulled Kai's left hand and immediately ran into our classroom so we could catch up with our prelim examination.

[P.O.V] Kaito Almasen (Kai)

[After 10 minutes]

To all the students studying at this university... This guy in front of me (Benjie) is the only one who forgot the examination date.

or maybe he was forgotten all of this because of what happened between us last night in my condo unit.

"Geez! Erase3x, I don't want to remember that scene!" (I'm talking to myself in my mind.)

That night, I just kissed Benjie because of the sadness I felt... or maybe I choose to kiss him because I fell in love with him?

"Wait, I really fell for him in just a month and a half!?" (I suddenly ask myself as I secretly glance at him.)

"HELL!!!!!!!! NO!" (I suddenly scream within our classroom without realizing it.)

After I scream within our classroom, all my classmates and the examinee teacher suddenly turn around at me, when I realize my action, my entire face suddenly blushes.

"What's the matter, Kai? Why are you blushing?" (Benjie quickly asks me.)

"Stop asking me, let's focus on our exam okay!" (I stuttering told Benjie as I blushed.)

[P.O.V] Kevin Lee

[Three hours passed]

[Prelim examination room]

After 3 hours of waiting, the results of our test examination finally came out but as I with Benjie as I looked at my test result, he suddenly spoke to himself as I saw the big disappointment on his face.

"Why this is the result?" (Benjie spoke as he looked at his test result.)

When I saw him making a disappointed face, I thought to approach him to look at his test result score.

"Wow... What Kaito told us about you for being a top student in your grade school days was true!... so congrats, dude, somehow you managed to get the perfect score in six subjects." (I congrats him as I pat his shoulder.)

"I only passed in six subjects out of nine subjects, it means that Kai won't date me this upcoming Saturday." (Benjie spoke as he was still disappointed with his test score.)

At that moment, when I heard Benjie's reason why he feels disappointed, I suddenly remembered the stupidity deal I told him four days ago.

[Author's note]: As we recall in chapter 7 entitled "The eye of a revengeful soul" Kevin told Benjie that he pass all the subjects in the prelim examination, he will date Kai but without Benjie's knowing, It wasn't Kaito who made that deal because Kevin is the one made that deal, he lied on Benjie to rid Benjie's anger with Dianne and at that same time, Kevin continued lied on Benjie to help him increase his grade.

"Hey, Benjie... about that, I have something important to confess to you." (I spoke to Benjie as I feel guilty for deceiving him.)

"I have no time for your that, Kevin... so please don't disturb me." (Benjie told me as he focused himself reviewing his wrong answer on his test paper.)

"But this is important, Benjie so please listen to me." (I told Benjie as I feel nervous and guilty for what I did to him.)

After Benjie heard what I said, he suddenly turned around at me.

"Okay, Kevin... what's the important thing to you to say to me?" (Benjie asks me as he looks at me into my eyes.)

"Well... Honestly, the person who---" (Kevin.)

As I tried to confess to Benjie the whole truth about the deal, Gun suddenly pull me out of our classroom as he said: "Sorry Benjie but all of a sudden, our teacher want to see me and Kevin in the teacher's faculty room so bye."

After Gun pull me out of our classroom, he immediately ask me a question.

"What are you trying to do, Kevin!? Why do you want to tell Benjie the truth about the fake deal you made for him!?" (Gun scold me as he feels angry at me.)

At this moment, I was suddenly surprised by Gun's behavior because that was the first time I saw him being angry so I thought to ask him.

"What's wrong with you, dude? why are you angry at me?" (I suddenly ask Gun.)

After Gun heard my question, he suddenly calms down as he said "I'm so sorry Kevin, I just don't want to mess everything up because it's a big problem for all of us if Benjie finds out you lied to him about the deal, you already knew what happened to him and his old friend four years ago, right? so please don't tell him that you deceive him."

"But how about Kaito? What if he told Benjie that I deceive Benjie?" (I ask Gun as I feel nervous and scared.)

"We already knew Kaito, he's a type of person who doesn't want to see other people in danger, and besides, If Kaito wants to tell Benjie about the fake deal you made, he should have told Benjie sooner." (Gun told me.)

"Yeah, you're right." (Kevin.)

After Gun and I talked about the fake deal I made for Benjie, he thought to invite me to the cafeteria to eat to take our lunch but as the both of us walked towards the cafeteria, I still can't forget out of my mind what I witness about Gun's strange behavior earlier.

I hate to say this but somehow what Jelai told me about Gun's strange behavior was right. There's something Gun hiding from us but even I feel these strange feelings about him, I still trust him because just like what Benjie's father told me, Gun is the heart of the gang because he is always there for us to stop us from doing bad things.

[Author's note]: As we recall in chapter 1 entitled "The birth of the dragon slayer" Mr. Camacho (The security officer who help Kaito) told Kaito that Benjie is the strength of the gang because Benjie always relies on his strength that's the reason why other students call him "Legendary beast" If Benjie is the strength then Kevin is the brain/mind of the gang, we already know that Kevin is one of the academic excellence of the university but sometimes, he uses his intellect to bully others, in short Kevin is Benjie's adviser to guide him how to bully other students... at lastly, Gun, the heart/Light of the gang, as we continuously follow Kaito and Benjie's love story, we can't distinguish the mysteriousness in Gun's character but even he has a mysterious character in the story, we can't deny that Gun is always there for Benjie and Kevin to help and defend them.

[P.O.V] Benjamin de Guzman (Benjie)

After I reviewed and rechecked all the subjects I failed to pass, I thought to back to our classroom to tell Kai about my test result but when I got there, Kai was not at his desk so I thought to approach Jelai to ask her about Kai.

"Jelai, Do you know where Kai went? Why is he not in our classroom?" (I quickly ask Jelai.)

"Well... I'm not too sure where he is right now but after Kaito and I went to the cafeteria, he went for a walk by himself." (Jelai told me.)

When I heard from Jelai that Kai went for a walk, I thought to look for him around to tell him honestly about my test result, and after ten minutes of searching, I still didn't find his whereabouts but suddenly as I look for him everywhere, I suddenly remembered the place where the first time I ask Kai for a date.

And after five minutes of walking towards our university rooftop, I finally see the light coming from the rooftop but out of the blue, when I finally reached the rooftop, a huge smile on my face suddenly appeared when I saw Kai on the rooftop but unfortunately, the smile on my face was suddenly replaced by fear when I saw Kai with someone else on the rooftop.

I don't know who's the guy with Kai but when I saw that mysterious guy touches my Kai's hand, I suddenly explode with jealousy and anger, and because of the jealousy I felt, my mind went blank as I quickly approach that bastard to remove his dirty hand from Kai.

"How dare you touch him with your dirty hand, you fucking bastard!!!" (Benjie's furious.)

After I say those words with anger within my heart, I immediately punched him in the face just to let him know that Kai is only mine.

📌Even though Benjie and Kaito found out that they were childhood friends. Kaito still had pain in his heart because of his past life in America but out of the blue, Kaito chose to open his heart for Benjie.
