Why did you do it?

She asked - tears streamed down her rosy cheeks.

She watched as the blood trickled down the side of his face.

She brought her hands up to apply pressure to his wounded head.

While he only searched for her warm embrace.
So he smiled at her worried face

'Because you're worth it.' He breathed,

 Slowly closing his eyes - the sight of her face forever engraved on his mind.

A cold wind blows through her hair.
In that moment,
She felt it - all of him.

His life source touched her heart
deeply and fully,
And just like that

It slipped through her blood-stained fingers.
