I feel people often misunderstood the meaning of love,

They claim they do

Like the back of their hand

But honestly,

I say they are just confused.

Ask anyone who falls out of love

Who has gotten their heart broken

They would say with confidence,

That 'love is everything that hurts.'

But I think that is so untrue.

Heartbreak makes you hopeless

Loneliness keeps you isolated

Abandonment makes you feel unwanted

Bad memories feel like bruises

And sadness shakes you restless. 

But love binds everything you need together.

The butterflies in your chest when you see her.

The smile on your face at the sound of her voice.

The healing of your broken soul and -

That comforting touch that fills the void.

My darling you should know by now,

That love is the only thing that doesn't hurt.

That misconception of love

Should no longer stay with you.
