Lucifer's Lover
Author's note:
This part is based on Devilgram's story "Lucifer's Lover". It's not going exactly the same, but obviously contains spoilers, so if you haven't played that one yet, feel free to skip this part. I don't want to ruin anyone's fun.
But I do love this story so much I had to write my version of it ^^ So enjoy!

Lhori was sitting in the student council room in front of Diavolo and Barbatos. She was tapping her pen on a notepad nervously, looking at the clock every 30 seconds. It was more than half a year since she arrived to Devildom, but those two still made her extremely nervous. She really wished he was not late.
"I'm wondering when Lucifer will get here," said Diavolo breaking uncomfortable silence and looking at the clock, which was showing ten past five already. They were having a periodical summary meeting, and the oldest demon brother was the only one missing.
"He should be here soon," said Barbatos calmly with a knowing smile. "I've run at him at the hall. He was momentarily... distracted."
"Distracted?" asked Diavolo, but at that moment the door opened, and Lucifer got into the room. He was a bit flustered, his face showing annoyance.
"I apologize for my late coming," he said and stand at the top of the table, hands clasped at the back, waiting for a reprimand. Picture perfect student council member.
"You really are late," said Diavolo irritated, crossing his arms. "It's so very unlike you, Lucifer. Not only you made us wait, but also left Lhori in our not very entertaining company. Care to explain yourself?"
"I would rather not," Lucifer replied quietly but sternly.
"He was mobbed by the crowd of girls in the halls," said Barbatos innocently.
"BARBATOS!" Lucifer gasped looking at the steward with disbelief.
"Oh, really?" asked Diavolo playful smile on his lips.
"I was there, I saw everything," replied Barbatos looking curiously at Lhori and she felt compelled to say something.
"Well, someone's popular," she said with a crooked smile.
"Pfff... I couldn't care less for being popular," said Lucifer with a heavy sigh, crossing his arms. "It started to be really bothersome lately. I can't go anywhere without this hysteric crowd following me. And I can't even tell them to get lost, because whenever I open my mouth, they are even happier!"
"Wow, is that really bothering you that much?" asked Diavolo with concern.
"Yes! Especially when it intervenes with my duties as a student council member, like today."
"I have an idea!" said Diavolo suddenly straightening in his chair and full of excitement. "Why don't you find yourself a lover?"
"A... lover?" gasped Lucifer surprised. "Diavolo!"
"Well, it doesn't have to be a real thing," explained Devildom's Lord. "It will work also even if you just pretend. But if the news gets out that you are spoken for, it will surely repel some of your fangirls, right?"
"Hmm... You know, actually, you may have a point," said Lucifer rubbing his chin in thought. Suddenly he cheered up. "Yes, I think this is an excellent idea. And I know exactly who I should choose!" He suddenly appeared next to Lhori and put his hand on the back of her chair. "Lhori, you will be my lover."
"Wait... what now?" she gasped feeling her cheeks suddenly go red.
"Don't worry, we will just pretend." He casually sat next to her, looking at her expectantly, a predatory smile on his lips.
"I don't think this is a good idea, not at all!" she protested. "I'm just a human, you know. I can't be your..." she had a problem with even saying this word out loud. "...your lover... No one would ever believe that."
"I think it's a brilliant choice," contradicted Diavolo looking at them both with a wide grin. "You two would be perfect together. And Lhori, don't be so modest. Actually, you are quite a star in Devildom now."
"I agree," said Barbatos. "It will be very easy to spread this gossip. And as you are both friends and live in the same house it would be convenient."
"See, Lhori," said Lucifer with a grin and put his hand on hers, stopping her wildly tapping pen. "Please, do this for me. It would make my life so much easier."
"Ok, ok!" she exclaimed taking her hand away quickly. She didn't like how his touch and proximity was making her feel. "But I have conditions!"
"Of course. What are your conditions?" asked Lucifer with a triumphant smile his eyes never leaving hers and making her blush even more.
"No excessive touching!" she said sternly. "And definitely no kissing!" Lucifer laughed.
"Lhori, please. I'm a perfect gentleman. I won't do anything that makes you uncomfortable, ok?"
"Ugh, I'm already starting to regret that," she moaned hiding her face in her hands.

She got back to the classroom, as she forgot to take her lawbook, but she stopped short with her hand on the handle when she heard voices.
"No, it can't be true!" shouted Bhelphi exasperated.
"I'm telling you!" protested Levi. "I wouldn't believe it either, but it was Barbatos who saw them together!"
"It's bullshit!" protested Belphi. "Lhori and Lucifer? That's ridiculous!"
"So what, you're saying I'm a liar now?!" barked Levi.
"O-oh," mumbled Lhori. She took a deep breath and entered the room before the brothers started fighting for real.
"Oi, Lhori! Perfect timing!" exclaimed Belphegor.
"Oh, hi guys," she said trying to act normal. She went to her desk to retrieve the missing book. "What's up? Why are you so worked up?"
"Is it true?" demanded Levi.
"Is what true?" she asked trying to calm her nerves.
"Are you and Lucifer a.... thing?!" spat Belphegor.
"Oh..." she said and shrugged putting her book in the bag, avoiding their fierce glances. "Well, we are dating, yes."
"I don't believe it!" protested Belphi.
"It doesn't matter if you believe it or not," sounded a deep voice. Lhori looked relieved at Lucifer who just came to her rescue. "It doesn't matter what you believe. Are you ready Lhori? I didn't make you wait too long?" he asked and stood so very close to her, and then tucked a loose strand of her hair behind the ear. She felt her cheeks gone red again and heart hammering fast. "I hope you are not fraternizing with other men while dating me, hmm?" he asked with a smirk.
"Well, if you are afraid of competition, you shouldn't leave me for that long, my dear," she replied with a sweet smile and straightened his tie a bit. His smile grew wider in approval of her playing along.
"Ugh, I think I'm gonna be sick," moaned Belphi.
"I would never believe it if I wasn't seeing this," added Levi, his face pale and distressed.
"Well, if we are clear on that one," said Lucifer casually putting his arm around Lhori's waist. "As you are aware that Lhori is mine, you'd better keep your hands off her," he added in a gravelly voice.
"Yours?" Lhori asked raising her brows. "What am I? Your new pen?"
"You know what I meant, darling," Lucifer said gently giving her a charming smile, that could easily melt an iceberg. "Let's go. I've booked us a table in Hell's Kitchen."
They left leaving Levi and Belphegor with their jaw dropped. When they were outside Lucifer let her go from his embrace and took her hand instead, looking at her fondly. She really enjoyed this sudden closeness, and it worried her greatly at the same time.
"Good job, Lhori. Now those two will definitely spread the rumor," he said with a grin. "If you want to deceive your enemy, you have to first deceive your friends!"
"I'm not good at this, Lucifer," she sighed heavily. "I'm really bad at lying, you know."
"Don't worry, you're doing brilliantly," he protested and squeezed her hand gently. "Can you see all those looks? Everyone is gossiping about us!"
"Is that a good thing?"
"Definitely. Normally I would be harassed at least five times after leaving RAD! But now no one dares to approach me! And it's all thanks to you!" He planted a quick kiss on her head and make her blush again. "I can't believe I haven't thought about it earlier!"
"Well, I'm glad I can help."
They were almost at the restaurant when Lucifer suddenly stopped and pulled her close to him. Surprised she ended up in his tight embrace. She looked up at him, eyes wide.
"Lucifer what are you..."
"Shhh," he said and put a finger on her lips. She couldn't suppress a sudden shiver that went down her spine. His closeness was intoxicating, making her head dizzy. "Someone very angry is watching us. Just play along." Before she could protest, he caressed her face and touched her lips again.
"I love your lips, Lhori," he said in a low seductive voice, making her tremble again, but loud enough for any passer-by to hear him. "I'm so glad you're mine now." He leaned closer to her, his face just breath away.
"No kissing!" she hissed closing her eyes and trying to calm her racing heart.
"No kissing," he agreed in a whisper and rubbed his nose gently against her. "Don't worry, I remember. Although, I can't say I'm not tempted..."
"Unbelievable!" They heard a disgusted voice. Lhori opened her eyes to see Lucifer smirked when he released her from his embrace.
"You want to say something to me, Mammon?" he barked in his powerful voice.
His brother only whimpered something and quickly scattered away.
"Ok, I think that's enough show for now," Lucifer said cheerfully offering her his arm again. "Let's get to eat something finally."
***
It was early morning when her DDD chimed. She grunted and look at the screen trying to keep her eyes open and look at a far too bright screen. After a moment, she saw the message from Lucifer.
Lhori, are you awake?
I am now. Good morning.
She replied with a scoff. But before she could get back to sleep the device chimed again.
I'm on kitchen duty today. Breakfast is ready, come to do the dining room before Beel gets here.
Can't you save me a plate...?
Are you kidding? I'm a demon, not an angel. If you want your breakfast you have 60 seconds to get there.
She groaned, put on her sleepers, and not bothering with a robe she went downstairs in her pyjamas with unkempt hair. When she entered the dining room there was only Lucifer there. He looked at her and raised his brow with a smirk.
"Well, well, well. Someone looks charming in the morning." He, on the other hand, was fully dressed in his school uniform, no trace of sleepiness in his handsome face.
"You gave me sixty seconds, what did you expect?" she scoffed and sat next to him. "Besides, I didn't remember agreeing on morning dates."
"Not a morning person, I presume?" he asked pushing the plate full of food to her.
"How did you guess?" she asked with a grin, shoving her hair away from her face. "But you look like you've been up for hours."
"Well, usually I'm not a morning demon either," he said. "But since I'm on kitchen duty today, I thought I get on with it early and give us a rare chance to enjoy our meal in blessed silence, without usual interruptions." She was looking at him in silence biting at her toast for a few moments.
"Why?" she asked finally.
"Why what?" he asked puzzled.
"There's no one here this early, so no one can see us. So... what's the point of this show? There's no point to pretend we're a couple now." Lucifer frowned.
"But... tell me, aren't you enjoying this?" he made a vague gesture to empty chairs.
"I do," she admitted with a small smile, and his face suddenly got brighter. "And breakfast is lovely. I'm just surprised you went for all that trouble..." He smiled.
"Well, you are giving me a huge favor," he explained. "So, I thought I will make it up to you."
"Wow, I really didn't expect that."
"You'll see I have many qualities you are not aware of yet," he said teasingly, his eyes sparkling. But before she could reply they heard a disgusted moan.
"Oh, no. Don't tell me this ridiculous gossip is true!" Satan came into the room looking at them with a mixture of surprise and disgust. "I didn't believe when Levi told me, but you two look awfully happy together."
"Good morning to you too Satan," Lhori said getting back to her breakfast. Satan sat in front of her giving them a suspicious look.
"Lhori, why are you in your pyjamas?" he asked his brows tightly knitted, then his eyes open wide. "Wait, did you just spend the night together?!"
"What?!" Lhori exclaimed feeling her face getting crimson. "No! Of course not! Don't be ridiculous, we're not THAT fast."
"Don't worry though, we'll get there," said Lucifer in a low seductive voice putting his hand on hers suggestively.
"Lucifer!" she hissed. She thought she can't get any redder, but here she was.
"Ugh, I can't take it anymore," Satan moaned putting away his plate. "Suddenly I lost all appetite. I just can't look at your smug face anymore, Lucifer." He stood up abruptly. "I hope you know what you're getting into, Lhori," he added and left.
Lucifer laughed.
"You are unbelievable," she gasped. "Mr student council representative!"
"You can't say it wasn't fun to see him flustered like that," he said with a grin.
"Well, it was unexpectedly entertaining morning," she admitted with a small smile pushing away the empty plate. "Thank you, Lucifer."
"Shall we walk to RAD together?" he asked casually.
"Will you give me more than 60 seconds to get ready?" she asked, raising her brow.
"We have a lot of time still, so take all the time you need," he said standing up and then smirked offering a hand to help her up. She wavers only a little and took it. He pulled her a bit closer than necessary. "Are you going to make yourself all pretty for me?" he murmured.
"How about I make myself presentable?" she snorted, and he grinned.
"I'll take that," he replied letting go of her hand. "8:30 downstairs?"
"Sure."

She felt really weird. Everywhere she went demons started instantly whispering and giggling. She knew the rumour about her and Lucifer was spreading like a wildfire, but she didn't expect that much attention. Suddenly in a crowded hall, someone bumped at her so hard she almost fell.
"Move, slut!" a beautiful demon girl hissed at her with her sharp teeth. Demons all around giggled and talked not bothering to whisper.
"Who does she think she is!"
"Some lowly human trying to seduce a high demon!"
"What a slut!"
She shrugged, clenched her teeth, and moved away, trying not to listen to hateful comments. When she got to the deserted staircase a heavy sigh escaped her mouth.
"Lhori! Here you are. I was looking all over for you!" shouted Asmo in his exalted voice. He was holding a paper in his hand. "You are so famous now! I have to say, this photo is just brilliant!"
"What photo?" she asked dreading the answer.
"You made a front-page!" Asmo exclaimed shoving a paper in her face.
And there it was, on a very first page, taking half of the space a photo of her and Lucifer having dinner in Hell's Kitchen. And not only that. Someone caught the only embarrassing moment, they shared. She was so delighted by the food that she impulsively offered Lucifer a bite from her own fork, which he accepted with a smirk and sparks in his dark crimson eyes. And there they were now, on the first page.
"Oh, no," she moaned.
Human exchange student seduced Student Council Representative! read the headline. She opened the paper to read the article.
Our newest exchange student from the human world, Lhori, does not waste her time here in Devildom. She's here only for half a year now, and she already made pacts with almost all of seven demon's brothers, who are Devildom's elite. But it's apparently still not enough for this power-hungry human! Now she has been seen leading on Lucifer himself! No one expected it, but our Morning Star seems to develop some strange fascination with her. How long will it take her to bound Lucifer to her, just like the others? Is no demon in Devildom safe?!
"What a bunch of bullshit!" she gasped exasperatedly.
"Of course, it is," said Asmo with a shrug. "This paper is just a bunch of made-up gossips anyway. But I have to admit, Lhori, I personally find myself really fascinated by your relationship with Lucifer," he said and moved closer to her. She made a step back, but her back hit the wall. "I know all about love, passion, lust..." he said seductively. "When I see a couple, I can tell exactly what stage their relationship is on. And yet, you two... Something just doesn't seem right to me. Are you really dating?"
"Why do you ask?" she asked trying to play on time. She hated lying. And Asmo's light red eyes seemed to look straight into her soul.
"Oh, that's interesting! You didn't confirm it right away! But there is a sure way to dispel my doubts, Lhori. All I need is to kiss you. Then I would know right away if you and Lucifer actually sharing more than just flirtatious remarks." He leaned closer to her. She put her hands on his chest trying to push him away, but he was a demon, so it didn't even slow him down.
"ASMO! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" a voice like thunder boomed over the stairs. Asmo stepped back with a huge grin on his beautiful face.
"Oh, the jealous boyfriend is here, I see." And there he was, striding towards him in his majestic demon form, black wings spread, pure anger lighting his crimson eyes.
"Do you have any business with Lhori?" he barked to his younger brother, towering over him.
"Well, suddenly I feel like a third wheel, so let me just leave now. We have to pick up where we ended another time, Lhori," he said with a wink and walked away.
"He is unbelievable," Lucifer growl and sighed heavily getting back to his usual, less threatening form. He looked at her with concern. "Are you all right, Lhori? You look very pale. Come on, let's go to the courtyard, you look like you can use some fresh air."
She didn't say a word while they moved out of the building, letting Lucifer pull her by the hand. They stopped under the big tree, relatively desolated from the crowds of students.
"What's wrong, Lhori?" Lucifer asked again, concern clear in his voice.
"Have you seen this?" she asked waving the paper in front of his face.
"Oh, the photo?" he asked with a smirk. "I'm quite surprised too. It's unexpectedly good for our case, especially considering we weren't even playing back there!"
"Have you read it?"
"No, it's just a bunch of nonsense. I never read it!" he shrugged.
"Read it!" she demanded her voice shaking with anger.
"Whoa, ok, easy. No need to get so worked up about stupid article!" he said trying to calm her down, but when he opened the paper and started reading and his face suddenly fell.
"Oh..." he mumbled his mouth a tight line.
"Oh. Exactly."
"What a bunch of idiots," he growled crushing a paper in his fist. "Don't take it personally, Lhori. It's just a stupid tabloid. And no one reads it anyway..."
"No one reads it?! Are you kidding me?! Everyone saw it!" she shouted, her fists clenched and shaking.
"Lhori, calm down..." he said and put his hands on her shoulders, but she shook them away.
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down! They didn't say a word against you! They slandered me! They made me into some... some... power-hungry slut!"
"Lhori, please..." Lucifer held his hands up. "I know how you feel..."
"You have no idea how I feel!" she spat, fighting tears welling in her eyes. "I told you it was a bad idea! I knew it! I need to get out of here..."
"Let me walk you home."
"No!" she protested and backed farther away from him. "I just... can't be around you right now, ok? I need to be alone." She turned on her heel and quickly went towards the way out of RAD. She heard him calling after her, but she ignored it.
***
She was sitting cross-legged in the library on her usual spot on the desk and playing the guitar. She didn't feel like singing. Just kept playing angry accords. She felt his presence before she heard him.
"Lhori..." he said quietly. "Can I talk to you?"
"Sure," she said cautiously putting down her guitar. He took a chair and sat in front of her.
"I was in the editorial office of this tabloid and its editor was disciplinarily dismissed by Lord Diavolo himself. They will print a formal apology for you in tomorrow's edition."
"You know it doesn't change anything," she said sadly. "The harm is already done."
"I know, and I am truly sorry this whole situation backfired at you," he said looking at her with pain in his eyes. "I never thought... If I knew..."
"Well, you couldn't know," she said shrugging. "But Lucifer... I can't keep it up. I'm sorry."
"Why not?" he asked, disappointment flashing on his face. "Because of this article?"
"It's not only that. I... Ugh..." she hid her face in her hands.
"Lhori?" he asked cautiously. "Come on, you can tell me everything, you know." She put her hands down, her cheeks red, but she looked into his eyes.
"I'm not good at this, ok? I'm not good at lying my friends to their faces. It was a lot of fun too, I admit, but we can't keep doing that. And also..." she stopped and looked away.
"Yes? What else?" he asked quietly. She felt his dark eyes at her.
"I can't..." she looked back at him, feeling her voice shaking. She took a deep breath. "I can't keep doing that, ok? Being so close to you... it makes me... feel things. And want things I shouldn't want..."
"Lhori..." he whispers.
"No... don't say anything. I don't think I will ever be so embarrassed as right now." She hopped down from the desk taking her guitar. "I'm really sorry Lucifer. I honestly wanted to help you. But it's just... too much ok?"
"Lhori..." He stood up and extended his hand like he wanted to stop her, but he wavered for a moment, unsure of what to do.
"I'm sorry, I think I need to be alone right now," she said and left the library in the rush.
