Chapter 8

Cora POV

There I stood waiting for the prince to round the corner. One hand on my hip the other resting on a sword, the point end in the ground. As soon as his face landed on me he went wide eyed. Not out of fear, just out of seeing me again. His eyes raked over my body as his lips pulled back in a wicked grin.

"Now that's a change of look. But I must say it doesn't suit you. Only proper ladies should wear such fine dresses." He mocked me.

I shrugged off his non-hurtful comment.

" I feel so sorry for king Phillips. He has to try and raise a pig for a son." I spat

He's eyes grew darker with anger. As he stepped closer. I held my sword firmly but never moved it. As If the man wasn't attractive enough, being angry somehow made him more so.

"Hmmm and I wonder who gets the pleasure of calling you their daughter." He said sarcastically.

I smiled as I new he didn't know of my identity yet. He didn't know that I am the Princess he is engaged to.

"Wouldn't you like to know, in the meantime tell me how you got your abilities?" I inquired

"How did you get yours?" He asked suspiciously.

I rolled my eyes. Tired of the games. I Figured I minus well tell him because he won't live to tell anyone else.

"I was just born with them." I said sternly.

He let out a disappointed sigh

"As was I" he said.

"You don't know how you got them do you?" I asked irritated by the fact that I wouldn't learn of my abilities.

"Neither do you" he retorted as his hand moved and rested on his sword as if expecting a fight.

I pulled out my sword and pointed the end at him. Preparing to strike and kill my problems.

"Your majesty! your majesty!" We both turned at once as beth made her way over to the stables. I lowered my sword.

"There you are." She said with a smile she was obviously worried about me.

"Yes here I am." Price William announced full of ego then continued. "Go tell king Phillips.
that I will join him shortly" he ordered beth.

Beth looked at me. Then looked at him as she lowered her head to the prince

"Forgive me your Majesty. But I am the princesses personal maid. I take orders from only her unless instructed otherwise."

"Princess?" He croaked wide eyed. "Your the Princess?"

"Your majesty!" Norman yelled from Afar. Running as fast as he could towards the prince.

"Your highness you left your crown in the saddlebag. Your father would be furious if you meet your fiancé and her father without your crown." Norman exclaimed while trying to catch air.

"Oh that reminds me" beth said as she open The satchel that was slung over her shoulder. She pulled out my crown.

"Oh your highness" norman beamed as he saw bath.

"May I say you are most exquisite and will make a fine bride for the future King!" Norman said talking to Beth.

Her cheeks turned a bright red. William rolled his eyes.

"This is hers" beth told William as she handed me the crown and I placed it on top of my head.

"Oh" norman said "forgive me your highness" he bowed in front of me apologetically.

William grabbed norman and pulled him out of his bow Obviously annoyed. Then grabbed his crown and put it on his head.

"If I may ask why is the princess holding a sword?" Norman asked the prince.

"Well that's simple Normen. She was going to try and k....."

"See if he could get someone to sharpen it for me." I finished his sentence even though I know good and well that was not what he was going to say.

"My father puts me in charge of making sure his sword gets sharpened. He says I need the exercise" I lie

William turned to me with the most fake smile he could muster.

"Yes of corse I can dear."

"Norman make sure this gets sharpened" William said as he ripped the sword out of my hand and handed it to Norman. I glared at him with daggers in my eyes.

"But your grace this sword is as sharp as a razor." Norman exclaimed suspiciously.

"Oh silly me" I said in the most girly way. "I must of grabbed the wrong one. They all look the same"

William rolled his eyes at my acting.

"It's an honest mistake my lady. After all you are a Princess not a warrior" norman said innocently.

I had to bite my lip to hold back my laughter. "I couldn't agree more" I replied.
