Prince Williams POV

After searching my rivals kingdoms with my small horde of scouts and spies all day, I returned to the palace unvictorious. I found nothing. Not mention of a woman assassin. It was if she simply did not exist. She must've covered her tracks well. The eyewitness that claim to see her ride here could be misguided or lying.

I will make sure to have a chat with him once I'm rested, in the morning. I opened my bedroom door in the castle and stepped inside and examined it quickly. Everything was in order so I start taking off my armor and boots. It's been a long day but my search is far from over. I intend to find and question this strange girl.

I sat on my bed and put my hands on my head, trying to collect my thoughts.

I hear footsteps in front of my door. Suspicious, I quickly yet quietly grabbed my sword and rise to my feet. The door opened and in came Norman my personal manservant with a tray of steaming food in his hands.

He froze when his eyes met mine.

"Haven't you heard of knocking Norman? I Nearly killed you" I swear, lowering my sword.

"Sorry your Highness. Someone told me that you just arrived back from your journey, I did not realize that you were all ready back in your room. Usually you share words with your father before you retire to your quarters."

I was about to yell that him once more before my eyes landed on the tray of streaming venison stew.

"You are forgiven" I say while ripping the tray from his hands, sitting back down on my bed

I began to eat.

"How was your day your majesty?"

"Frustrating" I answered truthfully

"I am sorry to hear that"

"Finding that girl will be the death of me" I mumbled..

"What girl?" Norman asked curiously. But I cannot answer, the whole palace thinks it was a male who attacked me.

"Nothing "

"But you just said..."

I interrupted before He could say anything more . "There is no girl" I say, giving him a deadly glare.

"Whatever you say your majesty"

I smiled a victoriously. But I could tell he would not be letting it go that easily.

"Is there anything you want ready in the morning?" He asked while he grabbed the empty bowl from me.

I thought about it for a moment.
"No. Just the usual" which consisted of a ready bath, clothes and polished armor.

I looked over at Norman and he was leaning on the door for support as if he suddenly felt dizzy. I quickly got up and grabbed his arm and placed It around my neck then walked him around my bed to the chair next to it.

"Your majesty this is really most unnecessary, I am perfectly fine" he argued

"Shut up Norman. Just sit."

I sat him down then took the empty bowl from him and put in on my desk. I walked back and took a seat on my bed.

"Your cousin Ruby told me you were unwell, and I told her that you did not have to do any of your duties till you were able."

"I am fine. It's you I am worried about."

"And why is that?" I asked intrigued

"A woman can mess with the mind you know."

"For the last time there is no woman" I spat

"Right" Norman quips sarcastically.

"If you cherish your head I would advise you to stop."

"You intend to behead this handsome face?" He said as he pointed to his face. "I am not sure the maidens of court would be keen on that idea." he joked.

He was right though. Behead Norman and half the servant girls would be willing to poison my food. He was quite a lady's man. All the young maidens fell head over heals for the man. Perhaps some of the Ladies and Royal Woman of court as well. I have heard rumors.

I am quite the lady killer myself although I never look for something serious. I don't have the time nor the interest.

"It's not up to them now is it?" I cross my arms "And after all, I could comfort the maidens you leave behind in their time of grief" I wink.

Norman laughed then started coughing.

"Fine my ass" I say, shaking my head.

"Enough about me. why did you not tell your father about your trip as you normally would?" Norman asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Because just like the last one this trip was a disaster." I confessed

"How so?"

"She..." I correct myself quickly "he got away"

"Why is Prince William loosing his Touch? Since when has anyone been able to 'get away' from you?"

"NEVER...well except for now. But trust me when I say sh...he will get what's coming to him."

"I am not sure you will be doing a lot these days to come" he said as if knowing something I did not.

"What is it?" I asked.

"There has been talk in the palace this afternoon that your father the king has finely chosen a bride for you..

Cora's POV

I throw my rappelling hook over the wall and tugged on it to make sure it was safe to climb. After a half a days ride I finally arrived right outside my rivals palace wallsl. I decide not to go through the square of town but to short cut up this wall Instead.

Just then I heard equine foot steps from behind. I swiftly turned around to find one Of my uncles many knights right there behind me on horse back.

" I am so glad I found you before you found the prince my lady. The king would have had my head if I did not find you in time."

"In time for what?" I asked curiously.

"He wishes to see you at once, that is all his majesty has said."

I shrugged in annoyance.

"I will be right there let me just do what I came for" I pointed up to the wall.

"I am afraid you can't do that. The kind said that you are not to harm the prince it shall be my head" he said with a worried face.

Why in the world would he want the prince alive? Just this morning he said he wanted him dead? Now he says not to harm him? What could my uncle be up to now?

"Alright. Let's head back then" I said as I took one last look at the wall. I will be back and I will get my answers from Prince William.

I knocked on my uncles door and he told me to enter.

"I received word that you wished to see me."

"Yes I did. Not long after you left this morning a marvelous plan occurred to me so I sent my swiftest knight to find you and stop you from killing the prince just yet." He said

"why wouldn't you want him dead? What's your plan?"

"All in good time child. Now I wanted to ask if the prince saw your face while you fought him?"

See my face? Of course he did? Why does it matter? Is he worried that the prince knows who I am and will lead it back to him? Is my uncle planing to kill me?

"No" I lied

"Good" he said happily.

"I sent word to his kingdom and proposed a truce between our kingdoms to the king, with a alliance of matrimony."

No! He would not!

"You are to marry Prince William next fortnight."
