I pushed the doors to my uncles chambers open and began to enter. I looked at his desk expecting him to be there, After a little searching my eyes landed on my uncle, who was looking out his bedroom window with one hand on his chin scratching the stubble on his chin with his thumb. he looked as if he were thinking over something with every last detail planed. I cleared my throat to let him know I was there. he glanced back at me with a smile.

"Good morning Cora"

"Good morning uncle" I said as I walked up next to him by the window.

"How are things between you and the prince?" He asked hopeful.

I just shrugged, tried of being in the dark about what's going on.

"Good uncle. He does not suspect anything" I lied. If he knew the truth he would.. I don't know what he would do, but it wouldn't be good.

"Very good, everything is going according to plan." He announced.

"What is the plan?"

He gave me a warning look not to ask anything feather, so I lowered my head to stare at the floor.

"You will continue as you have been, and don't do anything to make him or his father dislike you, you are to be the perfect little princess" he said as he patted me on the head as if I were a mere pet.

"Now we must go meet your mother in law" he said with a wink. I tightened my fists in anger. The good little damsel act was not my best roll to play.

After a long walk and lots of speeches from my uncle about how not to mess this up for him, we arrived once again at the castle gates and awaited Williams mother, Soon I could see a white carriage in the distance that was quickly approaching. William and Phillips also joined us in the await.

As soon as she stepped out of that carriage I could understand why Phillips was crazy for the woman, she had mid length brown hair that shaped her pale face perfectly. She had rosy red cheeks that balanced out her blue eyes with perfection, She was truly a master peace. My eyes landed on William and I saw a great resemblance between them, even though William had black hair and was tan from the sun they still somehow looked alike.

Phillips pulled his wife into a loving hug as he placed a soft and loving kiss on her lips

"I have missed you greatly darling" he spoke to her sweetly.

"As I did you my love" she said as she linked her arm in his then walked to William. William Respectfully bowed In front of his mother and queen, she gave him a warm smiled before pulling him into a hug as well.

"You'll never be to old to show your mother some love William." She said playfully before releasing him.

"In fact it seems as it was just yesterday you were running through the garden with those cute chubby cheeks of yours" she Let out a content breath at the memory.

"Mother" William complained looking a bit red.

She giggled then turned her focus to me. Her smile faded as she looked me over. I smiled at her in a girlish way trying to act like the princess my uncle wanted.

"Princess Cora I take it?" She asked but already knew the answer.

"Yes your majesty."

"Oh please child, You are royalty after all, my name is Cassidy to you" she said sweetly. I let out a breath, releasing I might just survive her 'inspection' of me.

"And now she's family" Phillips stated happily.

William shifted uncomfortably, I could tell he didn't like the situation we were both in just as much as I didn't.

Queen Cassidy walked to me and then oddly started walking around me, looking at me from head to toe as if she were searching for the best cattle In a heard.

"Darling" Phillips said to Cassidy catching her attention. "Your making the girl very uncomfortable".

"Oh" she said a bit embarrassed. "I am sorry dear. It's just not everyday that your son gets engaged." She said happily. "I just want it to be perfect. Now I already Took the liberty to find the best Taylors in my kingdom to make your wedding dress. They should be here in a few days, Oh it's just going to be lovely!" She said rambling on "you and my son are going to have such lovely little baby's" she squealed.

"Alright" William announced extremely uncomfortable. "I think it's time for you to get some rest from your long trip"

"Yes, I'll show you to our room" Phillips said as he took his wife's hand. He said his goodbyes to my uncle and I then walked off back to the Castle. My uncle also had affairs that needed his attendance, he too said his goodbyes and walked back to the Castle as well.

Me and William just stood there awkwardly for a bit. Then he shifted his wait and turned towards me.

"My mother can be.."

"A bit overbearing" I finished his sentence although I knew that's not what he was going to say.

He let out a small chuckle. It surprised me to see him amused.

"What about your mother? Isn't she excited for her daughters 'Holy matrimony' " he said the last part as if it were foreign on his tongue."

"I don't know." I said truthfully.

I hadn't seen her since this hole mess started. Somehow I just didn't find the time, but I made a mental note reminding myself that it was my mother and I needed to find time for her. I didn't live with her because my uncle thought it best if I live in the palace to learn what it means to be a princess, my mother thought it was a great idea and agreed, Little did she know that my uncle was training me to be his secret weapon. My mother lived on a beautiful property on the outskirts of this kingdom. Even though she was a princess she never liked the hassle of leaving in the palace, so my uncle (her brother) made her a fabulous estate on a beautiful piece of land right next to the lake shore. If something ever happened to my uncle she would move back into the palace and become queen, though she said when I find a husband she won't revoke her right and pass it down to me.

"We don't talk much" I said avoiding the subject. He just nodded.

He looked at me more a moment. He looked as if he were going to say something but decided not to.

"Let's go to the archery arena, I really want to get this over with" I said annoyed.

"I couldn't agree more" he said back as he held out his elbow and I linked my arm in it as we began walking to the stables.

We got to meet Williams mother and also got more information about Cora's mom.
