I grabbed my gun tightly, walking through the dark hallway.. My blood rushing and my heart pumping. This is my line of work. Action and suspense.. And nothing like the movies.

I turned the corner, seeing the door open a little.. Light coming from the room, followed by voices. One male and one female? I suspected two males but whatever. I walked up to the door, kicking it open.

"Police! Drop the gun and put your hands where I can see them!" I watched as he dropped the gun, raising his hands in the air. I stiffened as I heard someone behind me cock a gun. There's the other one.

"No, no detective. Drop your gun and put your hands where I can see them." I slowly bent down to drop the gun, only to strike him at the gut. He groaned in pain but dropped the gun. I quickly clocked him in the jaw, dropping him.

I picked my gun up again and pointed it at him, kicking his gun away from him. "I don't think so." I watched as the rest of my team rammed through the door.. I watch as Crews walked in, bending down to cuff the perp. I turned my attention on his partner. I slammed him against the wall, and cuffed him.

This kid can't be more that 17. "How old are you?" I heard him groan "I'm 17." Good guess, Mercedes.. "Well, come on kid.." I pulled him off the wall and handing him off. I walked to the girl tied on the chair. I reached for her ropes. "Wanna tell me your name, sweetheart?"

"A-Aliyah." I nodded and untied her ropes. "Well come on Aliyah, let's get you home." I helped her out of the room. I felt a sense of elief as we walked out of the building. I placed her in a car and sent her home. I felt Crews stand by me.

"You could've waited." I looked at him. "By the time you guys got there, that poor girl would've been eaten alive. But now, she's going home safely." He nodded and walked off.. I know I should have waited by the main thing is that I saved someone.

I walked back to my car, Lopez sitting on the passenger side. "I saw the thing with Crews." I shrugged and started the car. "He'll get over it." He nodded "He will, the important thing is you saved her." Yeah..

We drove in silence until we heard the radio go off.. "We got a 10-30, a bank robbery on the corner of 20th and Pat." Lopez looked at me, waiting for a response. I nodded heading that way. "On our way." I straightened up, ready to get back into the chase.
