Desmos is going to see Alice and Luke? Blaise thought. Why? What is he going to do? Where are they? Why does he need a portal to get there? Blaise's head clouded with thoughts.

"Why? How? Where are they?" Blaise blurted out.

Desmos chuckled. "I'm doing my monthly check up on them, and I'm sure you're aware of how I'm doing it." Desmos gave him a devilish smile.

Blaise fought back all the memories that erupted, the day they were captured, how Desmos took them into the forest and they walked through the same blue mist.

"Can I, uhmm... Join you?" Blaise squirmed.

Desmos chuckled, "The boy wants to come with me?" He paused. "Actually, that might not sound like a bad idea. Just know that it'll increase your homesickness. And that, if you do decide to come, Luke's life will begin to rely on your ability to do your job."

Blaise followed him through the mist. His worries washed away with the moist air. His mind started to relax and all his previous thoughts became long forgotten.

Blaise wished he could just stay there forever, if he stayed there it would have been so easy, no worries, no distractions, nothing. Just peace. Until finally, he stopped.

In front of them stood thousands of exits, each cloaked with the blue mist.

Desmos led Blaise past each exit until they reached one glowing a bit brighter than the rest.

Blaise's gaze flickered to Desmos, as Desmos stopped for a moment. After a short pause Desmos looked at Blaise, smirking, before walking through the mist, and into the sunlight.
