Blaise sighed and knelt down in front of Luke, ruffling his blonde hair. "I'll see you soon okay?"
"Okay." Luke giggled happily.
Blaise turned to Alice and grinned, "I'll see you soon too."
·····
"Blaise, I have a promotion opportunity." Desmos' pale yellow gaze dug into Blaise.
"Go on..." Blaise asked, a slight edge in his voice.
Desmos smirked, the dim light glinting off his forest scales, making them glow in the room. "First, I need the blood of a human with black magic."
"What?" Blaise asked, his eyes widening as he realized what Desmos was asking him to do. "H-how much?" He asked, cringing at his stutter.
"Just enough to fill this vial." Desmos handed Blaise a small clear vial, it fit in his hand nearly perfectly, the small hourglass-like shape ready to be filled with blood. His blood.
Desmos handed Blaise a small steel dagger, it was small and sharp, perfect for slicing skin.
Blaise left the room, fingering the small dagger. Should I do it? Why does Desmos need my blood?
Blaise entered his room, softly closing the door behind him, he lay the objects down on the small table in front of him and sat down.
He stared at the objects, the gears of his mind working in a steady rhythm, contemplating what he was about to do.
Blaise slumped down, his shoulders sagging, the atmosphere silent except for the pitter patter of rain against the roof.
Should I do it? It's just some blood. It's not like I'll die because of it.
Blaise stared at the dagger, the small blade glinting in the dim cold light coming from the window. Elaborate carvings adorned the steel blade, the steel glinting a bluish hue in the light pouring through the window.
The rivulets of water streamed down the window, and it seemed almost as if the sky was crying, begging Blaise not to do it. The pitter patter of rain filled Blaise's ears and his vision blurred, he became dizzy.
"Look it's raining!" Luke exclaimed, running toward the door.
"Oh no you don't!" Blaise laughed, catching Luke and hoisting him onto his shoulders.
"You aren't going anywhere, you're going to catch a cold!" Skye exclaimed, Alice standing behind her in rain boots and a jacket.
Blaise carried Luke back to his room, forcing him to put on the proper clothing.
After releasing his brother, Alice and Luke happily ran outside.
"You're not going out?' Blaise asked Skye.
"I am, give me a few minutes though." Skye laughed
Blaise picked up the dagger.
