Blaise's hand trembled as he held the dagger up to his palm, the cold metal blade resting against his skin and pushing down the beads of sweat accumulating on the surface. The tip of the dagger poked his hand but wasn't deep enough to break through the crevices of his hand. He was ready to allow blood to spill out any minute. Yet he hesitated, the thought of staining his hands and tearing his flesh apart nauseated his mind. His grip on the handle loosened as it clattered to the floor, echoing in the room. He scrambled back, his breathing ragged and his mind ablaze.

This was wrong. Why was he so worried?Blaise tried to steady his breath, but his lungs failed to cooperate. His heart ripped them apart with every deafening beat, threatening to burst through his layer of skin. Blaise forced himself to stand as he made his way over to the small couch, his fingers trembled as he picked up the dagger and went back to the couch, turning it over in his hands as he stared at it.

Blaise's reflection danced across the surface of the polished steel, his lips were cast down in a frown and an expression of fear etched onto his still face.

Blaise stared at it, before a blazing inferno of anger igniting within him, his eyes seemed to spark with life, before the fire died out as fast as it had come.

What am I doing? This was never that hard before.His fingernails dug into his palms as he bit his lip, trying to stop the panic flowing through him.
