"He has a big scythe.." The homeroom teacher read from his book, waiting for students to write it down in their notes. 

"Aww, Darling!" Lum said sweetly, interrupting the teacher from his lesson.

Osen-Mark growls but continues reading aloud. "His job is to guide wandering souls-"

Shinobu, more focused on Lum's chattering, breaks his pencil in anger. 

"Darling! Darling!"

"To the circle of reincarnation..."

Ataru shoots Shinobu a worried look, but in turn, is given a scathing expression. The young Morobishi glances back at his female friend. Knowing she was the cause of Shinobu's distraction.

Lum snuggles up to you mid-floating. His arms wrapped around your chest while he presses his cheek to your own. Nuzzling you happily, unaware, or, uncaring of his surroundings.

You look down at your paper with an uncomfortable expression. 

"He wears a red tracksuit..."

"DARRR-LLLING! Let's skip this class and go have some fun!" Lum purrs out sweetly.

The teacher, fed up with the alien distracting his students, throws a piece of chalk to your forehead. 

"(L/N)!!!"

You stand up quickly from your desk chair. But Lum just lays around your upper body mid-floating.

"THIS ISN'T SOME HOST CLUB!! DOGGONE IT!" The homeroom teacher yells, pointing at you and Lum.

You bow in apology.

"I-I'm sorry! Lum's dad needs to get the paperwork to transfer him! And-!"

"No excuse!!"

"Y-yes sir!" You squeak.

Lum, who huffs at your teacher, floats down the desk lazily. His feet kicking back and forth, "married couples never spend a minute apart!"

"Wha! We aren't- yet, when!??" You blubber in embarrassment.

"WAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Shinobu cried, banging his head against his desk. "Why does he have to spite me all the time!" The teen cried, peeking a glance at your expressions while his female friends come to his aid.

"Shin-I!" You try to get up and apologize, but Lum holds your shoulder, softly trailing his fingers around your neck.

"Enough of your excuses!"

"How dare you!"

"You can't keep excusing Lum's behavior like this!"

You lower your head, nodding at their statements. As if a child being scolded by their parent.

Unaware of Shinobu's eyes sparkling at your slumped form. 

Closing his eyes, he smiles sweetly from underneath his arms at your attention.

Lum, fed up with the girls near you, pulls you close to him, "Darling~!"

Lum pecks your lips as he manages to pull you down on the desk. 

"KYYYYAAAAA!!!"

The girls scream in embarrassment, while the males let out groans in disbelief and disgust.

"Oi! (L/N)! We don't wanna see that!" Aturu hissed at you, pointing accusingly.

Lum backs away from you, with a cunning grin, eyeing the now scary Shinobu. 

When he turns back to see your expression, he stills.

"Ha.. Ah.. Uhm.."

Your face had become a darker shade of your skin tone. Eyes hazy and looking anywhere but at your classmates and Lum. 

You raise your arm over the lower side of your face, clenching the fabric of your skirt. Your classmates now gazing at your soft features, suprised by such a attractive look!

"Lum..." Shinobu says slowly, glaring at the alien.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Grabbing a desk, he starts throwing desks at the Oni, who expertly dodges the objects, but you get crushed underneath the desks in the aftermath.

"Gotta get supplies.." You mutter, looking through the list of items you needed to buy.

You pass by the fruit section and look them over, deciding which one was ripe enough. You pick out a few rosey red apples and place them in your small bag.

"What did Lum want again..?" You think aloud, easily handling a giant stack of water bottles as patrons gape at you. To which you do your best to ignore, having gotten used to their stares for your... Bigger appearance.

You shake your head, not wanting to be self-conscious at a time like this! You needed more food for your new roomie!

Chucking in the right items, you make your way to an open lane. But pause when you come by the clothing department.

'I think I have enough.'

After quickly grabbing the items you picked out, you rush to an open lane. Huffing out small bits of air as the cashier looks at you in terror. Shakily you hand over your items as they told you what you had sales on.

You smile happily at how much you saved!

"Thank you! Come again!" The cashier calls out as the open and close twin doors shut after.

Leaving the store with a small skip in your step, you head back to the apartment while being careful with the groceries in your hands. Yet you tripped up on your feet.

"Woah!" Uneasily tethering back and forth on your heels as you try to keep your balance. You fall as your items sprawl across the concrete. Looking up, you see an older woman staring down at you, emotionlessly.

Squeaking out an apology, you gather your items quickly off the ground. 

A sudden heavy pressure falls on your back.

"AAAAGGGGHUUUU!!!!!" The woman screams right behind your ear. Causing you to turn around and back up, but she holds you in place. Her teeth clenched together as she growls in pain. "The shock of being bumped into... Has put too much strain on my heart..." You look around for anyone to help, but no one was around, so you try to calm her down. 

"Okay, ma'am, I'm going to need you to breathe.." You said quietly. She slowly nodded as her breathing became slower. 

"You.. N-need to stop being so kind, your kindness.. Will get you nowhere.." She huffs out, "Your bad luck will only get worse.." The older woman hissed, groaning in pain.

You helped her to a nearby bench, her small puffs of air slowly becoming normal breaths. Offering the woman a small water bottle, she thanks you. "Thanks, kid." She replied, wiping away the water on her mouth.

"What did you mean by "My kindness will get me nowhere?" Miss?" You asked, twirling the groceries in your hand. "You're ill-fated when it comes to romance, by showing kindness, you'll be.. Taken advantage of.. In a way." 

"Oh.."

You mumble, looking at your items dejectedly.

"You're probably right, I'm not that great at making new friends.. But romance-y kinda stuff I never had experience for.." 

The older lady looks at you sadly but starts to scream in pain once more. 

"AAGGHH! MY HEART!!" You freeze up once more, telling her to breathe. "T-take me home! I need to perform an exorcism! It'll take away your awful luck!"

You help the woman up as she directed you to her home, her breath becoming more ragged than before. 

"This-this a place that is scary..." You mutter, the shrine had a eery red color surrounding the home. You help the lady into the entrance of her home. 

"Mother! I-I'm Home!"

"Sakura! You're back!" A small woman appears from beyond the darkened hallways. Her features are so familiar that you couldn't quite place.

Ignoring the feeling of distrust in your gut, you help the woman, now known as "Sakura." Inside her home, her mother praising you for being 'an obedient helpful person." And, "so sweet. "

After helping Sakura to her room, her mother directed you to a dark candle lit room with scriptures written on the walls and an alter placed in the middle. "Don't worry, dear. Sakura will help you with your unlucky fate.." 

The older woman looks away, pulling a handkerchief from out of nowhere. Dabbing her eyes sorrowfully, "it pains me to know another young child is suffering just like my sweet Sakura!"

You wave your hands in front of your face rapidly. "Wait a second! Sure, I don't have good luck that much, but I don't think I have Ms. Sakura's problems!"

You pause, looking over the oldest woman. "You... Look really familiar? Have we met?"

Before you could ask another question, Sakura appears. The right side of her cheek had become swollen and aggravated.

"Sakura! What happened?" Her mother questioned.

"Tooth decay that caused a massive sore, another horrid jinx to befall me."

"Ms-ms. Sakura?" The woman ignored you, heading to the alter. Lifting her gohei to the small shrine. "Augh! I can't stand this! Let's get this over with so I can go to a dentist!"

Ms. Sakura chants loud prayers as she waves her gohei. You and her mother watched fearfully as her prayers stopped as she yelled out in anger. The pain of her tooth getting to her once more.

"Wha-what a powerful aura!" Her mother shouts, the two of you seeing purple cloudy things leave Sakura and come near you. 

"W-HHHAAAA!!!!"

You screamed as you were now smothered by odd tiny creatures. Surrounding you like a moth to a flame.

"AAAAAHHH-WAit a minute... These little guys look harmless. So... They've been causing me so much trouble."

You mumble, poking at one of them as it merely jingles with its uncanny body.

"I don't think I'll ever understand this kinda stuff."

"Don't worry, they're weak spirits! They'll be gone in no time!" Ms. Sakura starts to chant once more.

...

Then screeched as she held her heart. "Ah! My heart!"

"My dear daughter!"

You looked on in fear as more little creatures come near you.

"Ah.. I... I feel so rejuvenated!" Sakura speaks up, her sore now gone a expression lighter. "But what about all those demons?" Her mother questioned."

"The caused my illness! I'm finally free from their curse." 

"I see! So the demons choose to latch on to that young teen. I'm so happy for you, Sakura!" Her mother wept, this time in happiness.

You, being suffocated by the mini demons, could only raise a thumps up as Sakura promised to finish the chants.

Allowing the demons to be sucked away in a scary black hole that appeared on the ceiling.

"They.. They left." Sakura utters in awe, but froze at the ceiling reopens as a dark clothed figure hops out.

"Oh my god, it's the grim reaper!"

Ms. Sakura and her mother watched on in terror for your soul. While the Grim Reaper slowly descended to the floor.

You hurriedly pull out your notebook from school and a pencil. Along with a bottle of water.

"Mr- or Mrs?? Reaper! May I please interview you for my notes!?" You said hurriedly, rushing into the creatures direction.

The dark hooded figure tilts their head, eyeing you weirdly as it looks at Sakura and her mother. Before gazing back at you, whose appearance was all ruffled and matted. But still a sweet smile on your face.

The reaper let's out a sigh, shaking their head, before using their syth to open up another portal.

"No, you don't!" You call, grasping on their coat begging with all your might.

"Please! I just need to know if it's true you wear track suits! My teacher kicked me out of class before I could finish my notes!"

You wail as the Grim Reaper tries with all their might to escape your grasp.

Ms. Sakura and her mother pull on your shoulders to drag you away. Yet you resist!

"Please! If I don't get this down, I'm toooooaaasssttttt!!"

After bidding goodbye to the two shrine maidens, you head home. Feeling a bit lighter than before. Maybe... Maybe your luck has changed!

Keeping your groceries close to you, you walk up the stairs to your apartment and open up the door with a key.

"Hey! I'm... Back?" The apartment was quiet, no sign of Lum either...

Unnerved, you place the items down as you hear your phone beep loudly. Hurriedly taking it out, you answer the call.

"(Y/N)!!!" Shinobu yells through the phone, causing you to flinch once again.

"Shin?! What's wrong!" 

"You haven't seen the texts I sent you! That stupid alien has been wandering around me and Ataru's neighborhood looking for you! Where are you!?"

"Huh? I went to the store! Then, I helped this nice lady on the side of the road.. I don't think I've been gone that long." You say, hearing Lum's distant shouting through the call.

"W-well, just tell him I'm back at my apartment. Please, Shinobu." You say, voice faltering when you hear the boy grumble about Lum hogging your time.

"Hmm, fine. Only because he's a nuisance and is scarying the neighbors with his screaming... But. You owe big time."

"Of course!" You brighten up, Shinobu smiling softly on the other end of the line. 

"Well.. I want a date. Just us. No Lum or stupid Ataru. We can plan it later this week, okay?" Shinobu said hurriedly. You hum in agreement as Shinobu says goodbye, hanging up on you.

You smiled, glad that Shinobu wanted to hang out with you still. His friendship meant a lot to you and Ataru!

While putting stuff away, you hear the window open as Lum flies inside. Wailing like a cat being left alone for too long.

"Darling! Where have you been! It's been hours!" Lum rushes to your side by the counter. Grabbing your waist and pulling you towards him in a tight hug.

Thankful for not being electrocuted, you pat Lum's back. 

"Sorry, I had a... Weird adventure, again." You mumble, voice being muffled by Lum's shoulder.

"But! I came back, and in one piece. So that's good, right?" You tilt your head, watching Lums golden eyes become glassy as his mouth twitched upwards.

"You know... A wife leaving their husband for too long should be punished.. Don't you think?" Lum asked, his grip tighter than before as small electric sparks flared around him. Stinging you, in the process.

You wince, but smiled. "Actually, Lum, I have a suprise for you!"

You move a bit as Lum let's himself float but keep his hands placed on your waistline. Watching you curiously as you pull out a pink bag.

"Here, I didn't know your size, so sorry about that.. But I thought you might need it.."

Lum peaks inside the bag curiously before pulling out a nice cream colored shirt. 

"I get that being away from must be difficult, and I didn't know if you had any clothes.. So.. Uhmm.." You stutter, embarrassed by the fond look in the alien eyes.

"(Y/N).. You really didn't have to.. And besides, I still have all my clothes and items anyway. You don't need to spend worry about me!"

"Huh?"

Lum hugs the white shirt and pink bag closely, "I have lots of clothes on my ship, but... Thank you, I'll wear it with pride!"

Lum said happily, hugging you mid-float. "Ah~ My sweet wife gifting me things!" He giggles into your neck, "mwah!" 

You wince at new pain on your shoulder. 

"Ow-!" You whined as Lum just giggles some more.
