The distant cries cicadas surround the forest, as you and your classmates sit and listen to your teacher Mr. Osen explain the importance of this field trip.

"So, one of these goals of this out door learning experience is for everyone to establish camaraderie with your classmates. I'm giving you some free time now. Go have fun!" He states as you classmates chatter amongst themselves.

Getting up from where they seated and off to explore and relax.

Sitting on of the rocks they laid about on the stone path, you nervously gaze at enjoyment. Envy biting you a bit as people pair up or group together.

You wished one of your classmates approached you too!

Sulking even more, the group besides winces at the scary look decorating your face. Taking slow steps back so you wouldn't notice.

"Darling?" 

Lum, who sat beside you. Turns his focus in you curiously.

His outfit changed for the usual animal print ensemble, sporting a teal colored jacket. A simple black undertop, pink jeans and yellow sneakers that looked familiar to his usual outfit. A red side bag that rested on his side, green Iuminescent hair styled differently than previously.

"Lum?" You ask back, curious of what he needed. 

"Darling, are you okay?"

Blinking at his question, you shrug. "Yeah! I'm fine, you know- Just relaxing!" You wave off his worry, the warmth of embarrassment you felt accompanied by the sun's rays not helping your flustered appearance.

"See, (Y/N)'s fine! So you don't gotta stick to her like glue all the time." Ataru chimes in, his seat on the other side of the rock.

Lum smiles, "Marriage is until death do us part!" He giggles as Ataru shot him a bored look. "Eh..."

The alien boy's lips twitch, smile wishing to fall and then zap the brunette, but...

"Lum... Since this trip is about knowing our classmates more..  I'd really like it if you got to know Shinobu and Ataru more." You tell the Oni the night before the trip. 

Floating beside you, he watches from above as you go through your school bag. Pulling out a few books and setting them aside. Finally taking out a brochure of where the class trip was going to be at.

"Darling..." He mumbles softly, understanding what you were getting at.

Lum knew that if wished to marry you, he'd have to deal with your friends as well.

"Ataru is a bit of a... Well, he's very head strong on the pursuit of love..?" You grin, trying to describe your friend the nice-est way you could.

Lum scowls, fangs now apparent.  "You mean the sleazy jerk that-" Electricity bites on his fingertips at the thought of the male.

"-He's not a jerk! ... All the time? He can be sweet when he wants too!"

You focus your attention back on Lum, his temper calms when seeing your concern.

"And Shinobu has always looked out for me, I know if there's anyone I could count on. Shinobu would do his best to help." You replied, as if it were a matter of fact.

"I.. See.."

Lum feels his pointer finger twitch, a small lighting strike directed to the wooden floor. Hiding the hand behind his back as you shot him a quizzical look.

"While I don't know much about Mendo, he's my co-president. So the two of us should know each other better on principle if we're gonna' help the class flourish."

"-DARLING."

Lum interrupts, his smile wavering as he steps close to your window.

"I'll be.. Right back!"

Flying out of the window you barely get the chance to question him as the familiar sound of Lums lighting strikes around the neighborhood.

Right as you were about to look outside, Lum flies back in. Grinning sweetly at you, gliding back to your side as he nuzzles into your shoulder blade. 

"Okay Darling, but.-"

Seeing Lums compliance to the situation, you beam at him.

"Thank you, Lum!" You turn to face him from where he laid his head. Lips brushing past each other as his eyes widen, you however don't notice. Choosing to instead, turn around fully to hug him close.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" You squeal happily beside his pointed ear. Resting his hands on your waist, he pulls you closer. Relenting his idea, opting to rather indulge in the contact you provided.

"I promise, (Y/N)~."
