Before I start, I wanna say I'm not against privet messaging.

So, it's 12 am right now, and this has been annoying me for a while so I had to write this ASAP.

I heavily dislike it when people say you should have messaged them instead of confronting them in public.

Here's the specific examples where it makes me annoyed:

- when someone stole your graphics/stories and used it as an example in a public thread claiming they created it.

- when someone used your idea and used it as guide without asking. (i dont mean a general idea more like something that took you long time to make/build).

- when someone bad mouths you or something of yours that you created like stories, graphics etc

If they do any of these three things in public threads etc, and let's say you confront them in that same public space, they go on the defensive and say things like 'oh you could have just PMed about it'

My question is why should we give them the courtesy of taking care of this via PM when you are either stealing my graphics, ideas or bad mouthing me or my stuff in a public space? Why should we give you that respect? Why do you think you are entitled to that after all you did or doing? It's fucking rude.

Something happened to me like when I was like a year or two in the MDC, I had created this huge thread that no one else did before so I had no guidelines to follow... I had to fix and do trial and error in that thread because it was just so huge and hard to manage with no help. Ofc I eventually got the hang of it and had wonderful people that I asked to help me. Then I saw this other person created the same graphic thread that I was working on. I didn't care she created it what I cared about is what I found inside.. She used my thread as her guide, which was okay since there was no other thread like it at the time but it really hurt me that she couldn't ask nor just say hey, I created a thread using yours as guide. That's all I hoped for, I didn't care about getting credit or letting people know it was my idea etc. I confronted her on her thread and hell broke loose. The funny thing is, I didn't say anything rudely. More like 'ah, this reminds of my thread xD' but I was stupid to think teenagers would react in kind. FINALLY, after all the drama the person tells me, if I had pm them 1st, they would have taken care of it. But that's the thing...why do I have to pm you first? Why didn't you come to me first since you used everything I had worked to build? Why was I the bad guy?

So yeah, drama can follow when confronting the person in public, so here's what I learned from my experience: Take a bite and step back.

Yes, go confront them in the public thread but talk in monotone, like you're a robot or something, be emotionless.

For example, someone is talking shit about you, say this: Stop talking about me in that manner. It's rude, I do not like it.
Then take your ass to an ambassador and let them take care of it for you.

Or if someone is stealing your graphics, say: Please remove my graphics from your thread. If it's not removed in X hours, I will be forced to report you to an ambassador.

For the people who always is kind enough to PM these people, you are great! We are all humans, sometimes we may slip a bit.
