Chapter 11: The Fate I Had for Her

A Week Later

Saturday Morning

Lucy's P.O.V

I stared at myself in the mirror and couldn't help but blush. Maybe I had been showing just too much skin. I began to look inside my closet for a jacket when I heard someone walking in the living room. Ruki, that jerk, didn't he listen? He could have at least learned to come in with my permission.

I went into the living room to see the one person who I didn't expect to see. The man's maroon eyes had done nothing but trigger emotions that I didn't expect to feel. Hate, envy, desolation, I didn't know which emotion I felt more.

Ruki's P.O.V

I stared at the apartment door and tried to knock on the door but for some reason felt nervous. I didn't know why but I did. I pushed the feeling away and knocked on Lucy's door. After two minutes Lucy opened it. She didn't look too pleased. If anything she looked like how she the first day I had seen her. In so much pain while her eyes had read betrayal and sadness.

"Lucy" She began to tear up. "What happened?" She began to cry. I had been surprised. She had been crying in front of me. If anything she had always tried to show that she had been so strong in front of me but now it had seemed as if she had let down all of her walls. I wrapped my arms around her causing her to tense up before she relaxed. Continuously crying in my arms.

"I'm-"

"Don't apologize, it's annoying."

"You jerk" Even when she was angry at me she sounded to be in pain. It was not the same. I was used to her being angry at me or being sad, not both at the same time. I wanted to see her smile but that had been rare. So maybe now I could at least get her to feel better.

"What's wrong?" She looked at me and blushed before she put her head back in my chest. "Oi"

"I just want to rest here for a little bit longer...If it's okay with you." She confused me. She always wanted to show that she despised me but right now she was different. If anything she seemed more passive. For the first time, I didn't want to push her away. Instead, I wanted to continue holding her. So I did.

"Sure"

That day, we ended up going missing the train to Awaji island and waiting until the next day for another train. Once we got on the train I knew that we were in for a long ride.

"So we will be on for more than five hours?" I nodded at Ruki's question.

"Yeah and luckily, the Kiseki No Hoshi Botanical Museum has a flower shop inside." I saw him arch a brow.

"This better be worth the one hundred and fifty-seven dollars I am spending." I smiled at him.

"It will be."
